Jada walker should no longer start, and heres me reason why, shes not a scorer anymore, shes foul prone we used to just settle for her because she was good for defense but that part isnt even interesting anymore she fouls to much, and is too small people is posting her up getting and 1s., also shes not a good pg to lead these good players, everygame just watch her she just dribbles down the court fast, pass, and go sit in the corner, with her person helping off of her. I have realized that we play better when shes out.

Sarah andrews needs to be the starting pg, there is just a big difference when shes running the point when jada isnt in the game. Its just something about the way she flows, and use her body and ball handling, to set her and her teammates up for success, in a way that jada doesnt know how to do because shes really not a scoring threat so no one respects her offense fr.

Yaya is the better player right now and should start, her defense is great, and shes a respected scoring threat, at times i feel like shes sitting on the bench for to long when we aren't starting these games off good, and its just because jada to me doesn't fit, and doesnt even lead i hardly see her talk, and thats just sad to be a pg.

WE NEED THIS CHANGE BEFORE CONFERENCE OR WE WILL CONTINUE TO LOOK LACK LUST AND HAVING HORRIBLE STARTS TO GAMES.

All a result of Jana's injury.
I don't feel tardy

We're going to enter conference play without a single good win aside from maybe Villanova. Were for sure entering with out a P4 win in the non con. Team has an uphill climb to hosting come NCAAs and that absolutely should be the goal in year 4.

A lot will depend on how Matharu works out. If she can play up to her past we will be getting a great addition. If not, then we are what we are without Jana. But I have to believe that after a few games under her belt the team will look a lot different than what we are seeing now.

Think Sarah needs to be at two so she can flow into her actions/shots and be a ball receiver rather than distributor. And YaYa is valuable for elevating the level of play back up when initial adrenaline rush wears off and legs get tired. Our newcomer will be an interesting wild card. I wouldn't give up on Jada yet as I think Coach C has been working on specific offensive plays targeting Vonleh in these preconference games.

But… I think there is some merit to your concerns and perhaps we will see that switch. I just don't think we will be as strong with the change as we would be if we can get Jada to think offensively (as a scorer) again.

We would have NEVER made sweet 16 wout Jada! She was the mvp for us.

Amen! And wouldn't have beaten UT that first time last year, either.

Ok I have to respectfully disagree with all your points, Yara is an out of control player though she has improved some, our point guard almost beat southern cal last year by herself and Sarah is tremendous most games regardless of what position she is playing..let's see how we do by mid conference with the transfers coming in at mod term..hoping for a elite 8 but a sweet 16 would solid for this team.

I think the offensive plan this year is, and always has been, to run the offense through Vonleh. Learn to pass the ball to Vonleh from the top of the key. Dribble in and pass to Vonleh. If Vonleh is covered, make the layup. Our offense is predicated on what is happening with Vonleh. She is often double teamed and we have to have other people score. Seems like Buggs has done her fair share so far and is playing lights out. It looked like, UNLV went into a zone defense for about 10 seconds after a timeout and we immediately hit a 3 and that was that. As PG, Jada's job is to run the offense. Frankly, all the small guards frustrate me at one time or another with various aspects of their game. Hopefully they will all elevate their game for conference play. I believe they have it in them to be a very good team.

Working hard to keep getting comfortable with new teammates and new offensive focus? Continuing to mature in only second year at point? Concentrating on fine tuning lock-down defense on opponent's primary ball handler?

I hope we get that Jada just like I hope we get Sophomore Sarah back. Seeing glimmers of latter.

We are not currently where we will be. We WILL improve, including individual performances. I think the question remaining is, "Will we get enough 'better' fast enough to get where we want to ultimately be? Only time will give us that answer, but I feel optimistic. Just need to take care of the things in our control (like TOs and free throws and more deliberate shots at rim).

I definitely appreciate Jada and what she did for us, i just wish we could still go to her when we need buckets, she hasn't been making layups or anything but free throws as of late, i believe in her i just thought she would have a better start to this season, after last years performance.

Maybe come conference play we will get that Jada back.

Also i didn't mention but do you guys think Bella's defensive game is taking a toll on her shooting, and offensive production?

I still think Jada is our best point guard. From my point of view, Sarah started off the season slow and out of shape, but has played herself into mid-season form and is functioning well as the back-up point guard and starting shooting guard. With her injury history, I continue to think it best to both limit her minutes and also limit her time at the point.

As for Jada, my impression has always been that she will first try to get her teammates involved and will score either if needed or as opportunities develop. With Vonleh in the middle, that has taken some time for the team to adjust and may also limit Jada's mid-range game a bit. Jada has never been one of our best 3 pt shooters.

If you look at Jada for the season, she is averaging 12 points a game, 5.5 assists per game, and 44% from 3pt. All of those states are near or above her career highs. She is also playing a career high 31 minutes a game.

Bottom line - I would continue to start Jada and have her be our primary point guard. Sarah is currently a more than adequate back-up point guard, and you have to have one of those two on the court at all times.

As has been stated, some of this will evolve as Matharu shows up and gets acclimated and it may take the first half of the conference season before that gets worked out. With the additions of Vonleh and Matharu, this team will continue to take time to develop and personally, I will have to be patient for that. Still hopeful that we can finish in the Top16 and host the first two rounds.

Other than Sarah, who's the 3 point threat on our team. No one is what I think. Sure, Bella can hit one now and then and YaYa also. There's times when Sarah can only shoot bricks. We have, for years, had 3 point threats on the roster. When the other teams shut down Vonleh, then what are we gonna do?

Sarah (26/76) has made the most from 3, but Bella (17/59) and YaYa (15/33) both have a better percentage so far this year.

As for scoring, Buggs has actually scored more than Vonleh, and Jada is third on the team in scoring. Matharu was 2nd in the SEC in scoring last year as I recall

Once she gets in the rotation, Matharu brings that threat.
