How long do you want to ignore this user?

Class of 2025 is almost done in terms of recruiting cycle so we need to start a new thread. This is for 2026 and beyond.

Interesting that Baylor is her only Texas school…no school from a state that even touches Texas…hummm

She came to Nicki''s original elite camp workout. I know that she likes the program, but I would be surprised if she ends up here. She seems to really like some of the bigger name programs now and had a lot of posts about Stanford when she was on that visit. Recently, she has been at USC and has a number of posts about that. She would certainly be a great addition if we could get her. She seems like a very nice young lady.

Thank you for starting this new thread!

Thanks for the info. Certainly seems to be the case. Kinda just a "shout out" to BU.
Been on a bunch of recruits dance cards, bout time we make it to the dance floor.

Well her top 15 tells me that if she wants to stay in texas it will be at baylor, she has no other texas school and no other big 12 school other than baylor, so if she wants to stay close to home, baylor will be her pick.

Nation Williams is a 6 ft 2 inch forward from Las Vegas, Nevada. This is for class of 2027. She is number 11 player in class according to espn right now. She is also number 1 forward in class that isn't a wing on espn, but if you include wings and forwards she would be number 3 in the class.

2028 class. Chloe Johnson is a 5 ft 11 inch or 6 ft point guard from Duluth, Minnesota. This is from a while back.

Both of those are very good offers. Chloe has the potential to be like Paige Bueckers. She has been dominating as a freshman. I think she likes us a lot, but unfortunately, she visited for the Oklahoma State game and I have not seen her give our team as much attention since. Hopefully I'm wrong. She is currently ranked the number two player in her class unless there are new rankings. Long way to go on this. We just need to keep playing well.

Addison Nyemchek is number 51 in the nation according to ESPN for class of 2026. She is number 9 wing in the class of 2026. She is 6 ft 1 inch tall according to ESPN.

To be honest, if I went to a game where the team got blown out and there was barely any fans , it would turn me off. But she still has a long way to go before she starts college a lot can happend.

We will lose 5 people next season with 1 freshman coming in. We are going to have to hit the portal hard. We need height and players that can shoot. We need legit post players and tall forwards. I know nicki says she always like to play two point guards at the same time but man we are so short.

It does not look good unless we can pull in impact players. Recent history is not good.

I love BU and all of our glory. However WBB has always held a very special place in my heart. With all the great insights we have on this board, can anyone give a true honest opinion of why we cannot pull top tier talent?

I do not believe it's because of the coaching staff. CNC is wonderful, and has a great basketball mind.

Any insight would be appreciated.

In most cases I think other schools are offering more money.

Do we not have a strong NIL?

Not compared to SEC and Big Ten schools.

Being wonderful and having a great basketball mind are outstanding qualities. Ask yourself is CNC a great recruiter?

Bill, to be fair unless you know specifically why we have not hauled in recruits, I can't answer that question. With NIL it is not the same as it was only a few years ago. Throw in the portal where recruits can't even project for certain who they will be playing with their first year, comparisons to past years are apples to oranges. I know that we are considered by many top recruits. If CNC was not a great recruiter or at the very least a better than adequate recruiter, I don't think we would be getting that far, especially considering the loss of an elite coach which history has shown knocks down significantly your school's appeal to elite talent. I think our record thus far of not losing key players to the portal speaks well for the staff.

Very astute and thoughtful answer. Appreciated.

Give her an even playing field and see how she does. Blackie with a good post above. In her initial year on short notice when NIL was in beginning stages she pulled a top 20 recruit and another who was but fell with injury. Next year we got 1 of the top portal players ( Aijha) available and another very good addition who was not available because of a petty coach. As time has gone on, NIL has become much more imot and prices going higher. We are getting some top looks but nit able to close. Maybe that will improve with house settlement.

KU I believe has landed two 5 stars for next season. Are we operating under the assumption that KU is loading up on NIL for WBB?? Because that seems incredibly unlikely albeit not impossible.
I think it's fair to say NIL plays a part these days. But I find it hard to believe NIL is the sole reason BU is struggling a bit on the recruiting front.

Who knows? Guess we could find a KU insider and ask. I do know what I've been told by coaches.

I'm not doubting anything you're saying. I just think it's silly to blaming nothing but NIL. Especially when it's unlikely KU is getting much $$ thrown at them for woman's bb.

I guess the point is, we don't know, at least I don't. For all I know KU is not having to put as much into the men's NIL pot because the name "Kansas" is all that is needed for some men to go to KU even not getting as much as they could elsewhere, leaving more money available for the women's side. Baylor on the other hand may be having to put its NIL BB eggs mostly into the men's side and as such the women don't get as much. Maybe those girls at KU have some ties to the school or friends or whatever.

Heck, I don't know. If I knew all the facts, I might be CNC's biggest critic concerning recruiting. The only thing I can see however, is that so far we are not losing Baylor players to other schools in WBB and knowing that you have to re-recruit your own team every year, that tells me something very good about our staff.

Do we know the exact figure NIL wise that our Lady Bears are working with?

That's the point. I don't think we do, do we........or for any of our teams or anyone else's. I suspect a lot of assumptions are made and you know the line about assumptions.
IowaBear
How long do you want to ignore this user?
But you're pretty much proving my point… were assuming all these programs have soooo much more to donate NIL wise to WBB and that's why we keep missing out on recruiting targets. But we have no data to support that. Keep in mind I'm not talking about the obvious programs. You and I both know the UConn's, LSU's USC's etc have way more NIL funds than BU
blackie
How long do you want to ignore this user?
We can't assume that NIL is the deciding factor. That deciding factor may also have nothing to do as to whether the coach can recruit or not as defined by having every one on an equal footing based on their records and resources available to them. I guess I will leave it as I am not going to criticize or praise our coach's ability to recruit when I don't know the reasons as to why someone does not go here. Just as I don't really know the reasons why others do.

But I guess that is the bane of message boards. You (rhetorical "you") get to criticize even if you don't know why you see what you see.

Talking with a major BU MBB donor. Said our men's program "is in the top 3 nationally"…I then asked how the women's program is doing…"no idea", was the reply. Coaches also have to "recruit" the donors.
No idea where the women's program is. This age of free agency and NIL has to be a nightmare for coaches.
We also let go two big pieces of our recruiting. Wonder how that might be affecting things.

Perhaps that is why they were let go.........but we don't know that either. The internet bane....we all talk here about stuff of which we have no underlying data upon which we should be basing our comments and opinions in order for our comments to be fair or factual.
