Notre Dame already has a PF in their recruiting class.
Ohio State has 3 freshmen PF including very highly rated Kylee Kitts.

Oregon is like Baylor, gutted at F position by graduation.

If NIL is the main consideration for her decision, I would say our chances are 0. The Big 10 schools of Oregon, Ohio State and Notre Dame will offer more than Baylor can match in NIL. Amari would be a great addition and I would love to be wrong, but not getting my hopes up that she will choose us…

4 to play 4 is plenty. These kids aren't in school to be vets or doctors. The length at which a kid can play college ball now is getting ridiculously out of hand. I hope it doesn't pass

Agree. If a big factor for her is close to home/family…we are looking good. If playing time…40%. If $$$…0%

I say 40% if playing time simply because we are not B10/SEC

Would someone with a better handle on the NIL scene explain how this money is gathered? Is it from donors, advertisers or both? Is it just large donors or do "non-deep pocket people" chip in? I know Baylor has its fair share of well healed supporters and it seems we should be able to compete with most other schools but from what I read here we can't. Sounds like we can't attract more NIL $ because we aren't winning at a higher level and we can't win at a higher level because we can offer better NIL packages. Classic "chicken or egg" situation!

I agree, I think Amari goes Notre Dame. We can't beat OregonNike and Notre Dame NIL.

Hope our ladies get some of these pre conference marquee wins and have a deep run this year.

We will see many of the young women who took big NIL and things didn't work out as they thought in the portal this spring. Nicki does very well in the portal and will get the players she needs for next season.

No surprise here. If Nicki can't get more NIL, we just are not going to get top 40 high school recruits. We will need to rely on the portal. Players trying to get out of situations that are not ideal are more likely to accept less NIL. Nicki has done very well with the portal.

Yes! Nicki has done very well with transfers. She get top 10 transfer portal class this year. Focus our time and money there.

Baylor overspent for so long and now others are doing it.
Feels much like Marlins buying that one World Series win only to realize later how much it really cost. Baylor won't be returning to Top 1 WBB budget. And WBB specific donors at Baylor had the well fully poisoned by a disgruntled former employee. Will have to win smarter.

I do not blame Nicki for being frustrated by high school recruiting. She just doesn't have the NIL to compete with SEC and BIG 10 for top 40 recruits. Looks like only way she can get top players in this environment is to focus on portal.

Like I said before, Nicki would be killing it on the high school recruiting trail if money was not the deciding factor…. She gets many top players to visit but we can't offer enough NIL to get a commitment.

Yes. Not a surprise. Tennessee will have a stacked roster next year, I suspect it will be difficult for her to get minutes, but I am sure she got a lot of money and that is what determines where 95% of high school players will commit.

And then some of them realize they are not going to get the time and start looking at the portal. There is certainly a downside of not being able to buy the recruits out of high school. But the upside is that the portal provides ones that have already adjusted to college and the money needed could be lower and the relative duds weeded out before you commit it to them.

It has got to be frustrating and disappointing to the coaches who put so much time into this and don't get the immediate results. But you have to continue to do it, so that when one you want decides to go portal, you might already have a relationship with them giving you an edge in the portal game.
