A fellow poster asked me what four NCAA Womens Division 1 Basketball teams finished with only two loses. I was not sure, he said "Texas, UCLA, USC and Grand Canyon. He also mentioned Grand Canyon was undefeated in the Big 12, defeating Arizona and Arizona State. Then I did remember the Coaches name was Molly Miller whose record is 292-54 after 11 seasons, she will get some huge offers this off season.

Rumors that she's the front runner for the Mizzou job. As if that conference needs anymore good up and coming coaches

She was born in Springfield, MO. Might be candidate for Mizzou job, assuming they go cheap

Correction: GCU is in the WAC and not the B12 but, I get the jest of what you are saying that they are undefeated AGAINST the B12.

You are most correct in that she will get some serious attention after this season.

I would have thought the way people talked about her 4 years ago, she would have already moved on.

She's a damn good coach. Maybe she's waiting for the right opening. I'm sure she's drawn plenty of interest the last few years. All she does is win

I have watched at least 6 of their games this year. They remind me so much of Brock HS here in TX. I've seen Brock beat several schools that had far better players but they weren't disciplined. The fact that she has beaten both AZ & ASU this year is quite impressive considering what she has to work with. I do not believe she has a single player that would start at TCU, BU, KSU, WV or OSU.

On another note I have seen quite a bit about her only willing to coach at Christian Schools. I've heard of some offers that she never interviewed for because of that. So I'm not so sure about the Missouri offer etc. But if I was SMU I'd be on her front porch right now with a lariat rope.

Iowa Bear… I have read some interviews with Miller, she is a devote Christian and will not go to Missouri or any state school. TCU and Baylor have Coaches, SMU is a potential fit, they have financial backing of big time boosters starting with Steve Miller, who is the reason they got into the ACC. In the last few years he has given the school over $150,000,000. and also raised himself $100,000,000. from fellow Alumni.
Grand Canyon doesn't have a player that would start for Baylor. Molly is only 38, she has a great future and I think her next stop will be her last.

Interesting info. Keeps the pool of schools she would leave for incredibly small. I didn't know SMU had an opening. But I agree they would be pretty dumb to not contact her. I think she's one of the better young minds in the game. Lots of young up and comers in the college game right now

I haven't seen any reports about SMU parting ways with Toyelle Wilson (who was on KM's staff here), but they did finish 2-16 in the ACC this year.

SMU may not have an opening if they choose to stay with Wilson. I'm just saying that's what I'd do if I were them. Toyelle seems to be over her head there especially since they went to the ACC. Bill knows some fairly prominent people associated with SMU. I'm trying to get him to use his powerful influence to get them on her trail. LOL

Hopefully not. We don't want someone that close to have to recruit against. :-)

Another item to throw in the mix, in two years the WNBA has already selected two expansion teams and the following year will likely add two more per their public announcements. That will be 4 new head coaches. Molly would have no interest, would Nicki be interested? The WNBA will be negotiating their TV contract next season and it's projected to go upwards from $60,000,000 to over $200,000,000 per season. So the Coaches will make more money also, Becky Hammon already gets $1,000,000. per year.

When did SMU become a Christian school?

I was a Molly Miller fan during the BU coaching search. Even 4 years ago her resume was impressive for a young coach. Kinda reminded me of a young KM. Always have wondered if she got a look. Seem to remember she started following BUWBB on instagram during that time.

Guess what, I just asked a good friend just a week or so ago if Baylor was a Christian school. The answer I got was , "That's a good question".

Would the TCU coach be interested? I wouldn't think bad about CNC if she did. She feels tons of pressure and the demands here from some people are just not realistic.

I have been watching Mollie since HS. She played at the Courts in Springfield in the summer with her sister. She attended Drury U. and then coached there. Yes, she is an outstanding player and coach and she definitely a BU fit.

Ha, I don't believe TCU and SMU are Christian schools despite their monikers. Know some who went through TCU and came out Buddhist and atheists. Christian church denomination has moved far left. Of course some Baptist have moved left too.

Could Baylor hire her as an assistant head coach?

Been talk that CNC may, MAY, have thoughts of returning to the W. If true, I get MM here as assistant HC and recruiting (that has gone unfilled). Get her D1 feet wet, build recruiting relationships, step in when the time comes.
Don't think she comes without the opportunity to take over.

Where has there been talk of Nicki returning to WNBA other than people on this board who have 0 knowledge of what she may do??

It's just TALK…like I said. Could be something to it, could not be also. At the same time, if you think "people on this board" have no inside knowledge on this program then you are mistaken.
Bear3

I agree that there are definitely some on this board who have excellent inside knowledge about the program. However I would be very surprised if Nicki would discuss her thoughts on possible future career moves with anyone outside of her family.

I agree. So no one really knows…as you said. So, if no one really knows at this time, is it a possibility?
Of course it is. I simply posted, on a MM thread, how BU could work out getting MM here in this scenario.
My gosh..These threads are full of speculation.

The thing I have observed over the years is that by and large whoever this message board names or wants as a coach (pick a sport) never happens, if the person is even being looked at. Typically the powers that be have connections above our pay grade and are considering factors that fly right over our heads.

BYU, Arizona State and Auburn all fired their coach in last 24 hours. I suspect Molly's name will come up with at least one of these openings.

Molly Miller's Grand Canyon team just came from behind to win the WAC Tournament. They have won 30 games in a row and now stand at 32-2. According to several media sources ( don't believe them ), Arizona State and Arkansas are both going to offer her a boat load to right their ship. A basketball friend of mine in Phoenix told me that Grand Canyon did not have NIL funds for any sports, they do not have a football team and probably never will.

If something happens we will hear soon enough. I still think SMU may get in the mix, but they have not fired Toyelle.

Your friend may need to tell this lady she really doesn't have a job.

I just finished listening to the discussion, Jamie Boggs talked a lot, but kept repeating herself. She doesn't understand the difference with schools like Texas, Ohio State, Alabama and other large state schools that raise enough money to completely fund their entire sports programs. I'm sure they have a great culture, unfortunately that's not enough in today's college sports.
