Has anyone heard an update? Deng took a hard fall and DLB seemed to have an issue in second half of UCF game.

Feels like DLB was held out as a precaution? Score was already out of hand.

That's what I was thinking; hope nothing more than that.

She looked fine in the post game handshakes. I suspect however, unless it was just way less than it appeared, Yuting is out for the duration. Lower back injuries are not something you just get over quickly, I don't care how young you might be.

That really sux about Deng. At times earlier in the season, she was a muchly appreciated and timely infusion of offense - particularly from 3-point range. This also means thinner depth, obviously, for player rotations. Sigh...

Depends on the official report.

It looked like Scott was going to possibly be out for an extended period of time, and she was almost at full strength by the time we hit the 2nd game in conference (OSU) - which was about 2.5 weeks.

Hopefully Deng's injury wasn't as bad as it looked, and she just needs to rest up for the next week or so.

That would likely be the best case scenario.

In the meantime, let's hope we can get by Tech on Wednesday without her.

We should be ok against Arizona, regardless.

While you can never overlook KSU, we could probably sit her out against the Cats as well.

We'll have almost a week off between the KSU game on 2/23 and TCU on 3/1, so hopefully that will allow her plenty of time to heal and recover properly.

Because we'll likely need her for that one.

Hope you are correct. But in all truth, she hasn't played that well of late. She did finally make a 3 yesterday, but lately hasn't been dependable on offense.....and continues to contribute to too many turnovers for the time she is in the game. Keep hoping things would turn around on offense and it looked a little like it did yesterday.....although I yelled at the TV for a travel and a really poor pass.

While she's not on the injury report, my guess is it will be a 'play it by ear' type of situation.

At least based on CNC's comments at the press conference (about her being sore and sitting out yesterday).

May end up being as simple as seeing how she feels when she wakes up in the morning.

In any case, if we come out focused and limit our mistakes tomorrow, we should be able to get by Tech without her.

Wouldn't want to risk rushing her back too soon, because we'll need all hands on deck in Ft Worth.

What if Tech comes out the same way? They did just beat TCU, and this game is way more important for them than for us. If we lose, we can still win out and finish tied for 1st (however I don't think we will beat TCU). If Tech loses, it is over for them in all likelihood.

With Scott fully healthy this time around, there really is no reason we shouldn't beat Tech today.

Even with Deng still recovering.

Assuming CNC gives Tech a healthy dose of Nelms and KJ down low, we should have enough firepower across the board (offensively) to take this one.

We are clearly more talented than Tech.

Most on here can agree with that assessment.

CNC just needs to use her chess pieces properly at this point.

So is TCU, but they lost. Guess Campbell didn't play his chess pieces properly.

He's played them well enough that TCU is the reigning Big XII regular season and conference champ, is currently in 1st place in the conference standings, and has a 4-game winning streak against us.

Unless you're UCONN, every team has managed to stumble at some point this season.

The difference is that Campbell's won enough big games at this point to get the benefit of the doubt (when they have an occasional off night).

CNC hasn't quite earned that benefit of the doubt, given the faceplants she's directly been responsible for these past few years.

She can change that by taking down Tech tonight and by beating TCU on 3/1.

If by "didn't play his pieces properly" you mean having Miles go 1-5 from 3, as opposed to 10-20 from 3, then perhaps so.
