Why is this even news? When first saw the headline, thought it involved throwing games, not personal vendetta off-court.

If you are the WNBA marketing team, do you emphasize weird opposing player social drama or an All Star game that looked worse than a 3rd Grader pickup game?

Politics and social drama is the WNBA brand.

Actually, what you have described is what the Fox News-owned Outkick Sports would do, and did with this story. Carrington posted it and she shouldn't escape critique for childish online behavior. But it isn't the WNBA that eats that **** up and amplifies it. It's the racist, homophobic followers of Fox "News" and Outkick who want nothing more than for the WNBA to be seen as a joke.

The WNBA bathes deeply in any media coverage…..positive or negative…..in hopes of forcing relevancy.

Neither you nor the WNBA are victims. Your victim mentality is your downfall, not people who disagree with you.

What a huge non-story; nobody cares about the personal lives of these WNBA players.

I certainly am not a victim, and I'm not saying that the WNBA doesn't benefit from this sort of story. I'm just saying there's a reason why the most prominent Fox "News" owned Outkick Sports stories about the WNBA focus on culture war issues, and it isn't because they love women's sports and want to see them succeed.

WNBA can't survive on drama alone.
Tolerating behavior like Carrington and pushing the transgender theme is going to kill the league.
Like T-Rex, I regret that Carrington wore a Baylor uniform.
And honestly, I'm disappointed that our WBB coach is so cozy with WNBA.

Thankfully, the WNBA quickly (and I mean quickly) removed that ridiculous technical given to CC yesterday.

It will be interesting to see the viewership for the upcoming games the Fever have against both the Sky and the Dream. Indiana's TV viewership has exceeded 2.5M multiple times and has shattered the rest of the league.

u saw that clip. All she did was let her momentum carry her out of bounds. Insane m that ref called a tech. The bias is so obvious and so sad. The wnba leadership should be milking thier cash cow but instead dont care because they know that no matter what, their entire league will be bailed out financially by the NBA and dont care that they arent running the league like a profitable business.

I find the current atmosphere totally disgusting. I've lost 100% interest in the "W"NBA and college Women's BB. The Culture/Race/Woke/Media/etc has turned me completely off. It just ugly. Inevitably someone is going to get seriously hurt. Chances are it'll be a Caucasian player and little will be made of it. The reverse will be PARAMONT… just watch.

They have chosen their mountains to die and it will absolutely kill their league and at the same time expose the hypocrisy of the left and the trans movement.

There is a French player that is trans and wants to play in the wnba. But no one talks about it. He is dominating in some level 2 pro league in France. Basically the G league.

Now there are two former NBA players that have "declared" for the draft as trans players.

A challenge has been presented to pay one team $10 mil to play a high school boys team.

Or to start a new expansion team of all trans players.

Of course the wnba is silent on all of them except to say they are looking at rules to see who is eligible for the draft. I'm sure they will do some thing like saying anyone who played in the NBA is not eligible so they don't even have to address the trans part of it or define a woman.
IowaBear

The WNBA and a good chunk of its coaches & players have backed themselves into a corner. Instead of coming out in support of Cunningham they did the complete opposite. Hell we have players and coaches openly stating they wants trans players in the league. Well guess what? According to the far left you can identify as whatever the **** you want. If Royce White and Enes Kanter want to identify as chicks to play ball who is the WNBA to selectively say no?

It's because it's fun to say absurd things about an absurd league.

The league wanted to be political so they get politics thrown back at them.

The league wanted to be sexually woke so that wokeness is thrown back at them

The league is racist so racism is thrown back at them

The league claims equality of athletes so that athleticism is challenged and thrown back at them.

MLB embraced the claim of America's pastime until it was thrown back at them
. So what did they do, they juiced the ball, they juiced they players, they deadened the ball, they hid the juicing of players, they sped up the game. The point is, they listened to the accusations and made changes to hopefully improve the product.

Now, some dudes claim to be trans and want to play. Any other time, better players mean a better product. But not this time. The joke of a league is having their absurd political/social stances thrown back at them.

If people want to watch chick ball then have chick ball with a quality product and not political theater/ victimization.

And, before you accuse me of being a hater of women's hoops, know that I had season tickets to WBB for 9 or 10 years.

I have had season tickets for about that long as well, and have attended games for about 20 years. Here is the issue with athletes and entertainers using their platform for controversial topics; they are knowingly going to tick off a certain percentage of the fan base.

When that fan base refuses to attend or speaks an opposing viewpoint, so be it.

Personally I'd prefer they separate their views from their professions.

Shut up and entertain me.

I don't get into politics with coworkers or clients. It's bad for business. Outside of work is a different story.

A public person knowingly gives up a certain amount of privacy while also increasing their coverage with their public platform. They have more to risk speaking out. They chose their profession and they chose their risk.

I'm not racist and don't care who has sex with who and even if you want to identify as woman and you were born as a male. It is an individual's right to do whatever they want with their life and body as long as it does not hurt others. However when you are born a biological male you should never be allowed to compete against women period. If you want to be inclusive as many of the wnba coaches claim to want to be then those born a male can compete in men's leagues, no one is excluding anyone if you can earn a spot in pro sports then go do it. The other option is to form a transgender league, good luck with that. The wnba leadership and players are indeed living off of drama more than the skill of thier players. If D Carrington had been fouled like she fouled that young lady the other night and the white woman would have gone on social media the next day and stated it was black privilege, the woman would have been suspended for the season. There is a definite element of racism black against white and jealousy. And then last year you also had the players demanding more money when their league is not solvent without NBA subsidy. Can you imagine going to your corporate job tomorrow and saying you want a raise and the company was losing money. All of it is a real shame cause it is supposed to be sports but instead it has turned into a realty show. Maybe we need a wnba housewives show cause that what it appears to be. There is no denying it.
