Right.

Like I said..and you in your post using the word 'P.R.'.

It's about publicity.

What i was pointing out is there are people on this thread that think those 2 are actually transitioning.

Again…..in simpler terms for you….

there is a big difference in a short play PR stunt simply to gain notoriety and a long term play to effectuate change.
you opine the former, I proposed the latter.

In more simpler terms..im not disagreeing with you.

Two former NBA players don't need notoriety.

Again I'm pointing out just like people fall for the Nigerian email scams there's people on this thread that think they're transitioning.

They never said they were.

They have said they are trans or women for the purpose of playing basketball. Which highlights the arguments of the left and gender being fluid, being able to change and change back, etc.

The argument has never been trans people that have fully transitioned in all aspects of their life or that have finished the transition belong but rather just that they belong.

And again..I didn't say they said they were.

I said there were people on this board that thought they were legit transitioning.

Hey, I just want to also point out that I never said that you said that nobody else on the board said that the NBA players said that no one said they were transitioning.

But someone might think that I did!

I'm fine with the "shut up and dribble" crowd. But it is hypocritical when the very person who said "shut up and dribble" (Megyn Kelly) is lionizing Sophie Cunningham as some vanguard of conservative values. Tell her to shut up and dribble, too...unless you have an agenda you're peddling...

There is a sizable difference between athletes offering opinions on topics unrelated to their profession and athletes offering opinions on safety issues within their profession.

Is she pushing the agenda or pushing against?

MLB has players that simply wrote a verse on their hat as their pushback against the gay coalition. Is that a shut up and pitch situation?

Either you're okay with politics bleeding into sports or you're not. I find it interesting that a lot of the "shut up and [whatever]" crowd only takes issue when it's progressive politics that bleed into the games.

Personally, I'd rather not see either side, but it's the athletes prerogative and they can live with whatever consequences come from it. The selective outrage by fans is the most annoying part to me.

Even if they aren't lionizing folks like Sophie Cunningham, they certainly will express their pleasure if a player talks about their Christian faith.

Well that's just simply not true. I think most on the left welcome a nuanced discussion of the topic and don't agree that someone should simply be able to declare a new gender and then have access those those sports spaces. That's why the NCAA for example had a standing policy (until recently) that trans women had to get their testosterone levels down to a certain level AND maintain that level for a year or even longer before they were eligible to play. And there was consistent testing after that as well. There was never any uproar from the left that the policy was too restrictive and it didn't support this idea of being able to seamlessly transition back and forth like you've proposed. And even with that inclusive policy that was in place for 14 years, most people can name one or maybe two trans athletes in that time period. Even when it was available to them, they weren't taking over sports. This whole gimmick of men pretending to be trans or declare for the WNBA to make a point just shows that it's never actually trans women that are causing problems, it really is always a regular man.

SC has every right to protect players and the integrity of the WOMEN'S game. The WNBA has been the most politicized league ever, with their rainbow agenda. I don't care about the Sexual orientation of players, but it should not be a league promotion. It is a religious issue, grounded in the creation narrative. Not sure why the WNBA finds a need to take religious positions or even political ones. The NFL does not push a heterosexual platform, nor should they. But the issue of men of any shape or form claiming a right to take playing spots away from women is an integrity of the game issue. Plain and simple. To do otherwise is to disrespect women and throw away all that title nine has accomplished. Both many heterosexual and many lesbian women agree. Men do NOT belong on a woman's court. Ask tennis great, and lesbian, Martina N. The women are nearly killing each other as it is with flagrant fouls. Imagine the weight and strength of male Player colliding with either SC or DC. The physics do not work.
I love the WNBA and we don't need to destroy the present success and rebirth of the game with indefensible ideas of putting men on the court. Common sense is not so common any more.

Why do you think the fans, or potential fans, shouldn't be able to exercise their prerogative? Does it only tick you off when it's a conservative view?

I know you're black but I forgot whether you're the pot or the kettle.

Really it is the decision of the league which involves much more than players. Owners, some will be for men playing as seen in the attack on the court-side girls pulling for SC., Are the ones who will see their investment crash. If WNBA lets men play, we will see another league emerge which is truly wbb.

Fans can choose to support, or not support, athletes for any reason they want. Sometimes those reasons are hypocritical, sometimes not.

Seems to me like you're doing a bit of projecting here, no offense. I think my point has been very clear.

If a certain subset of fans wants to "keep politics out of sports," but then gushes glowingly over the likes of Clay Travis, Riley Gaines, the protests that have organized around the Indiana Fever this season, etc...they didn't ever actually want to "keep politics out of sports." On the contrary, they love politics in sports. They just don't like politics that they don't align with in sports.

It's my opinion that it's easier for that type of person to dismiss trans rights, racial equity protests, etc. by labeling them as "politics seeping into everything when I'm just trying to watch a game," than it is for them to say, "this makes me uncomfortable, so I'm going to do some investigation to try and understand what this is about."

Never leaving one's own bubble is certainly a fan's right as well, but it is hypocritical of them to say it's about wanting an absence of politics, and then rejoice whenever their own political views are the ones on display in sports.
