They both need to get 30+ minutes, but maybe only 20 minutes overlapping with each other. Maybe pair Gusters with Smith for ten and Bickle with Queen for another ten.

Multiple offensive rebounds by the Baylor Lady Bears during the 4th Quarter, ate up precious time, when the basketball game was still in doubt. South Florida making ten baskets from 3-point range kept them within striking distance. The Lady Bears never gave up the lead in the 3rd or 4th Quarter tonight. Nice to see career high scoring performances by both Queen Egbo and Trinity Oliver, and of course, the program's 1,000th all-time win.

I seem to remember saying last week that our lack of 3-point shooting is a real concern, and someone told me that I would be pleasantly surprised. Sorry, but I'm feeling even worse after tonight. Saying we don't have "elite" shooters is the understatement of the year. We don't even have average shooters. That was abysmal!! Why do we seem to be the only team with guards that you don't have to guard?? Trinity and Moon just stand over in the corner. I mean, it's really mind-boggling that you have a top 5 team with not a single pure shooter on the roster. Going to be a long year.

A few other thoughts...
  • So excited to see DiDi off the bench. She provided a huge spark.
  • Moon looks like the same old Moon unfortunately. Absolutely no impact on offense. Tentative and still mistake prone.
  • Would like to see Sarah get more time. Her shot was awful but she shows flashes.
  • Queen is awesome in the post, but if we can't hit a shot, she's going to get buried in the paint and we are going to be in big trouble.
  • Why did it take until the last 3 minutes for Trinity to cut to the basket when they doubled away from her. She just stood in the corner. Seems a lot of love for Trinity tonight but I don't see it. I just don't see her as a big contributor.
  • And the #1 concern - what is going on with Smith?? Good grief, she was terrible for the second game in a row. Lacks intensity and no court awareness whatsoever. She's gotta have better shot selection. Can't have our "Big 12 player of the year" candidate playing like that. She needs to get it in gear.
  • Too bad we couldn't land Miksell. I saw she went 8-10 from 3 the other might.

Trinity did a lot of things well! Kim mulkey even said in the post conference that we don't win the game without her play on both ends of the court! She was what kept us in the game in the first half. She also played the most minutes tonight behind smith! So mulkey clearly likes what trinity is bringing!

I stand by what I said..... give it some time.....3 ball shots will start to fall (its contagious) and then the traffic jam under the basket will clear out and Queen, Gusters and Smith will have all the room they need to attack the rim. Meanwhile give the team and staff credit for finding out a way to gut out a win over a very well coached team that should be top 20 ranked when an important part of the offense is not producing points.

BTW, I want to apologize to you for my last interaction with you on this board. I wouldn't know you if you came and sat down and started talking to me. I think I can tell we probably don't agree about politics, but so what? All that has been somewhat artificially elevated with the elections, etc. I have many dear friends I don't agree with politically. I reacted so strongly to your post for several reasons, none of which matter, but mostly because I had just lost a very, very dear friend to COVID, and I was sad and angry and I let that be an excuse to behave in an un-Christian manner toward you. I made myself stay off the board for awhile, like a time-out, I guess, and I hope this public apology will clear the air a bit between us.....
