Roberts, Derrick, Mitchell, Rice, and Westbrook are going. Messer is supposedly interviewing for the head job, but may go if she doesn't get it. Seems Brock and Makenzie are not going.

I was surprised Makenzie wasn't there/introduced. Why wouldn't you follow your mom? Unless they are staying in Waco for Clay's job?

She was there and introduced with Kannon and Clay, but as daughter, not staff. Word around says she is staying in Waco and will focus on raising her kids, as Clay has a good job and Waco is home. I'm not sure she ever really wanted to be a coach?

Makes sense. What kind of work does Clay do?

Hmmm. He's been a commercial real estate broker for Turner/Behringer (developers of Hippodrome, Union Hall, commercial strip on U-P with Bicycle World, 900 Degrees, etc., commercial development at 11th & I-35 with LaQuinta, MOD pizza, etc.). His name is on For Lease signs all over town.

He's not listed on their webpage this afternoon.

EDIT: Apparently he's moved over to Coldwell Banker Commercial. Turner/Behringer hasn't updated their signs. https://www.cbcworldwide.com/professionals/profile/A443C06E-2E94-4DF1-838B-C5E5BEEBC42A

I had read in a previous post on another thread that Makenzie could not be hired at LSU due to state nepotism policies. Do not know if that is true.

Love the idea of her on staff for all those reasons but for HC?? I'd feel better if it were someone with experience as HC.

I think it's a great decision for the Fuller family. Makenzie may want to step outside the Mulkey bubble and live her own life.

I agree with Historian. Nina was and still a very talented, smart ex letterwinner who has always represented herself and BU so well.

I've love for her to find a position on the new staff.

Talking about an over-achiever. I dont have the stats in front me, but I think Nina averaged more rebounds/game than Griner. Granted never overlapped as teammates, but Griner was 6'7, Nina is 5'11-ish.

Just a smart, tough, ball player. Among of favorites of all time.

Griner had 1300 rebounds while Nina had 1000 rebounds! I loved how Nina always knew where the ball would go and I loved her uncanny ability to score the ball over all sizes in the paint.

I would be tickled to see Nina on staff for us. I'll never forget her pulling down 17 boards versus UConn as a freshman. Undersized post player with a funny looking shot, but just played with so much heart that she imposed her will on the game.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention how much I would love to see Jhasmin Player on staff as well.

La definitely has a strong nepotism rule. Of course, it's La so there's probably a corrupt way around it. Pretty sure Mackenzie couldn't work directly for Kim

Any chance Mackenzie will remain on staff at Baylor? She may not be as key as figure as some of the others, but she could be helpful in many ways.

It would be in WBB best interest to keep Alex Olsen and Jeremy Heffner.
Love to see Nina come home in some capacity ... top shelf player and person !!!

A quick microcosm of the confusion:

Turner/Behringer is apparently the leasing agent for the old Lake Air Mall where Target is. On their wooden "Now Leasing" signs they have replaced Clay's name and cell # with a sign that says "Office" and their main number in addition to the name of the other broker. But their vinyl banners hanging above empty spaces still have Clay's name and his cell #. And right below one of those banners in the old Pizza Patron space behind Twin Liquors is a huge sign in the window that says "SPACE FOR LEASE--CALL CLAY FULLER" and gives the phone # for CB Commercial.

Bye. Good for them....truly. But NONE of those announced were instrumental to the performance of Kim's teams at Baylor. Good for Kim to call then out publicly. Honestly, that was a great classy move for her to recognize them in that setting.

Unless Kim Mulkey asks Bill Brock to coach with her for a few seasons at LSU, I think he will retire.

Doubt he wants to leave with his grandkids here, as I understand it. Agree on the retirement unless the coach is Messer.

I'm guessing he does have an offer to go. I think she obviously thinks highly of him. Remember she took him back when he tried his hand working for a Tech HC for a few years about 12 or so years ago. It's the issue of whether he wants to do it anymore if it isn't here. (Not out of love for Baylor but because he may not want to Jack with the hassle of moving to another part of the country etc at this point).

I think Kim was supportive of Brock going to Lubbock due to a family reason. And yes,she hired him back because he is a good coach.
