Near epic bottom of 9th comeback for the Rangers tonight, sadly fell short.

The Rangers barely squeak by the pesky Orioles the past 2 nights; now the A's are in town to battle for 2nd in the AL west.

Doubleheader sweep on Adrian Beltre #29 retirement night. Sweet.

Was at the 12 inning game vs the Orioles. Weather was awesome and it was a great night.

Nice win tonight in 11 vs the Red Sox.

Everyone has a draft. I'm curious how we move up from middle of pack farm to Top 5. Astros currently sit at 4. We may have decent young talent but they have better.


MiLB has the Rangers Farm Ranking at 16 and the Astros at 4.

Baseball America has the last 3 years Farm Rankings in the AL West as (2018, 2017, 2016)
Astros: 10, 3, 2
Angels: 14, 29, 30
Athletics: 18, 17, 18
Rangers: 23, 22, 7
Mariners: 30, 23, 28

It will be tough to compete in the AL West if our relative talent is declining.

Just curious what Daniel's plans are to restock.

Daniel;s says he works on 1 year/5 year mindset. Field the best MLB team this year and work MiLB with a 5 year view. We leaned too hard on the 1 year and traded away some long term assets. Latter half of last year we made some trades that got us some extra picks in the draft and some international signing money.

At the start of the season I thought we were taking the tank approach Houston used but Minor and Pence have carried us over .500 somehow.

AAA is understocked, Frisco is decent and DEWD is loaded. Patience.

Tonight is Rangers/Baylor cap night. Charlie Brewer threw out the first pitch; not his best but he's still a great representative for the Bears.

Nice win in Detroit tonight, Chavez was very good in the starting pitcher role.

Don't know if it's intentional but Chavez's chin scrawl reminds me of the Dutch Oven's mustache a few years back. Not a copy but the same attitude.

Chavez looked great with 7 or 8 K's in 6 1/3. I like that they brought him back out in the 7th to get the first out.
