Baylor Men's Tennis opens with a doubleheader vs Lamar at noon on January 15th, followed by Abilene Christian at 6 p.m. that evening from the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center. Baylor Women's Tennis also opens with a doubleheader on Saturday, January 16th vs Tyler Junior College at 11 a.m., followed by Prairie View A&M at 3:30 p.m. Attendance is limited to just 30 fans.

Yes. I will arrive at least 1 hour early. It's going to be cold waiting outside, but worth being one of the 30 fans who get to see the Baylor men's tennis season opener.

Congratulations to Michael Woodson on earning his 1st career win as a head coach at Baylor University! #13 Baylor Bears dominated the Lamar Cardinals, 7-0. After claiming the team doubles point, Baylor won each of the 6 singles matches in straight sets. Finn Bass, Adrian Boitan, Ryan Dickerson, Spencer Furman, Alex Garcia and Nick Stachowiak were the singles winners.

After claiming the team doubles point, 3 new players each earned their 1st career singles wins at Baylor tonight. Charlie Broom won (6-2, 6-1) at #2 Singles. Christopher Frantzen (6-1, 6-0) at #5 Singles. Joseph Chen (6-2, 6-1) at #6 Singles. #13 Baylor has wrapped up the team win officially over Abilene Christian, but both head coaches agreed to play out all 6 singles matches tonight.

Matias Soto won at #1 Singles (6-3, 7-5). Constantine Frantzen needed a 3rd Set Super-tiebreaker to win at #3 Singles (6-2, 2-6, 1-0). Sebastian Nothhaft had several Match Points during the 2nd Set Tiebreaker, but couldn't close out his singles match, and eventually, lost a 3rd Set Super-tiebreaker. #13 Baylor 6, Abilene Christian 1-FINAL. Baylor (2-0) hosts SMU in a doubleheader on Monday.

Joey Scrivano and the #23 ranked Baylor Women's Tennis team begin their 2021 season today. They will host a doubleheader vs Prairie View A&M. 1st match at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center at 11 a.m.. 2nd match at the Hurd Tennis Center at 3:30 p.m.. Only Bear Foundation and Baseline members allowed among the 30 fans indoors, but social distancing measures will be in place at the Bradley Hulse Grandstands. All fans are required to wear face coverings.
