Agreed

The vast majority of the protestors involved on January 6th were incredibly naive .

Trump seems to have lost all sense in the weeks prior to....and immediately after the election .
Suspect he knew what was coming and his ego basically blew a few circuits .

Old age affects everyone....not just the 'other guy'.

Hope Trump fades away....but that seems more and more unlikely .
Dems just got to be praying Trump stays in the race and destroys whats left of the Republican party .
MAGA went 22-0 this week.. dont look for Trump to back away if this continues and MAGA continues to reshape the GOP. 51% of GOP is MAGA in latest polling. If this continues, the classic republican will be gone(probably past the tipping point already)

Regardless how popular Trump remains with several contributors on this message board ......rightly or wrongly he is hated by many minorities, women and younger folks.

"Won't vote for him again ."

You do understand that staying home out of spite is the same effect as voting for the Democrat, right?

Hell, I voted for McCain in 2008 because I knew Obama would be worse. Trump 2.0 would be a good thing, especially if - as I believe - he has learned from the first term.

Self-important tantrum throwers may disagree, of course.

2020 and now are not the same.. the accurate pollsters showed it close with Trump losing(that happened)

those same pollsters show Trump now winning popular vote if election held today.

The polls that show Biden approval rating in the 40's are heavy weighted dem polls. Gen congress polling shows a monster +GOP, especially with hispanics and indies.

GOP is expected to take back the house and the senate as well as several governors in democrat run states.

Actually, if you check, the polls were against Trump in 2020.

As for "too old", he's miles better than Biden.

As for "younger leadership", if it's anything like The Squad, the younger cannot be trusted to lead the nation yet.

out of 103 polls checked, Redfield and Wilton overstated Dem support in 102 of them.

Michigan: Biden +13
Florida: Biden +9
Wisconsin: Biden +13

To name just few 2020 polls from Redfield and Wilton.

This pollster, known for oversampling Dems currently has Trump leading Biden by 4 points in a 2024 election..

He won't run if Trump does.
Trump's performance in the primaries this week (55-0) pretty well closes the door of viability on any other candidate on the GOP side.

The arguments against Trump are noted and not without merit. But there simply is no scenario where the GOP gets stronger with anyone else. He has built a unique coalition and any alternative candidate, including DeSantis will not be able to hold it together. Sure, a different candidate could build a different coalition, but that flouts the old adage about "bird in the hand."

its not just the 55-0, its the way the endorsed canidates surge in the polls after the endorsement. Its the polling showing that over 50% of GOP identify as MAGA.. The elitist GOP is no more, those people have been rendered to the minority in the party.

Trump endorsed JD Vance on April 15 when he was 10 points down in the polls, he won by eight points in the primary. His primary had seven people in the race and he still had approximately the same amount of votes as the Democrat primrary winner who had only 2 opponents. A Trump endorsed JD Vance will be the next Ohio senator.

The more of a shishow that Biden admin becomes, the more the populous will vote Trump back in.. the major voting issues right now are ones that people believe trump managed well.

Kemp is destroying Perdue in Georgia polls for governor. So much so, despite having 4 candidates running for the Republican nomination, it appears it won't even require a runoff as Kemp is likely to get over 50%. Kemp also is leading Stacy Abrams by 10 points in general polls, while Perdue would be neck/neck with her.

Trump as the Presidential nominee is insanity. Trump is as elite as they come, so I'm not sure what this disappearance of the "elitist GOP" is about. He's so elite he wants people to eat out of his hand, and bend to his will because he said so, be damned the rest of you. I really don't understand this appeal other than he feels like a giant F-you to your opponent.

I see the call out, and rightly so, of Democratic "elites" as they coddle the poor and minority communities while being limousine liberals well outside of any of the plight they capitalize on. What do you think Trump is doing? The guy isn't a principled crusader. He's a power hungry narcissist. Way past time to move on, especially when you have a strong viable candidate coming up.

the GOP has been seen in the past as the party of the rich/corporations. Trump brought in way more blue collar and minority than any other recent GOP president canidate(he lost the elite white vote and corporate money, that went to Biden)

Yall keep posting your feelings, i keep posting mostly third party info and get slammed for it. Facts dont care aboit your feelings. Just cause you think Trump is a power hungry narcissist doesnt make him the wrong choice in the last 2 elections. He will be the right choice in 2024 if he gets the GOP nomination. Only like 1 or 2 Dem choices that could beat Trump as of right now and they dont seem to have their party's endorsement.

in 2020 Presidential Election Polling by Rasmussen(the supposed right leaning pollster) Trump only led Once by 1 point? (Sept 2020)

Today's Rasmussen poll has Trump up 14 POINTS vs Joe Biden
Biden will not be the Democratic Party nominee .
too soon to tell

Republicans need to nominate Ron DeSantis .

Trump as the GOP nominee is the only chance Democrats have
Exactly

Trump's base still cant accept that independents are generally fed up with his narcissistic routine .
again CURRENT polling doesnt suggest that.. its not my opinion.

Look at the polling of 2020 vs today. He lost like the pollsters who know what they are doing said he would and He would win the popular vote as well as the electoral vote based on current polling.

Name me someone not named DeSantis who is in better shape to win the White House.
I think you're confused, I'm stating that Trump has the best shot at it based on current polling. We are not in disagreement. Trump leads all, Desantis is second.
Desantis is far more electable in the general election than Trump.

Not remotely a close call.

Don't confuse name recognition early in a campaign with electability .

Trump has FAR too much baggage ....and the consistent ability to shoot himself right in the mouth .

you are right, what was I thinking.. i must have been confused reading all those polls of registered voters that show Trump winning if election held today

Sure. He got a dementia patient and political dolt elected, but this time it will be different. Just wait until the campaign starts and they pull out the way back machine of Trump with all the assemblage of Jan 6 guys, his convicted buddies, stolen election cries, riot videos, etc. Doesn't matter if it's warranted, it will be the story. Donald the dictator who tried to overthrow democracy. Donald the Putin friend. All of that becomes the message. Pulling him back into the mix is a terrible move.

If inflation and the economy are struggling, it should be a layup for the Republicans. Trump is the wild card that will put it in question.

There were several posters who were convinced Trump was going to win in 2020.

Pretty sure neither George or W is running in 2024.

Swing and a big miss there, pal.
