Agreed it is a losing battle. The Trump train on the Republican side is just too strong. So we are stuck with Trump as the Republican candidate, and then another 4 years of Biden after Trump gets smoked in 2024.
Incredible how gutless the Republicans are.

They know what's coming in November but are too intimidaed by Trump's potential negative mpact in their own congressional races.

Too many of the bumpkins think only Trump can save the country. There is a cult of personality surrounding him by a less educated segment of the party.

He's also benefited greatly by being out of the limelight, at least by Trump standards. We don't see him saying stupid and absurd things on TV as much as we used to. But when his quotes and comments start getting more play once he's finally the nominee, he will remind all of those independents who were on the fence why they could never vote for him.

Train is coming. This is really lining up nicely for Dems. Trump will be so easy for them to run against, we will see Jan 6th over and over. He will hit the same level as last time and the Dem will win by 5 million. Then we will hear the same tired he was robbed, not that it could have anything to do with the most flawed GOP candidate in history.

Best case scenario is he is not eligible in September and then the GOP will be running a Nominee from behind. Trump has done more damage to Conservatism than anyone in history.

Exactly

Reminds me of the story how Al Smith won the Democratic nomination for president in the 20's..

Despite the fact it was a forgone conclusion Smith would lose the general election because he was a 'wet' and a Roman Catholic.

And Smith did lose; in a landslide.

Trump continues to gain ground with typical Dem groups and middle class.

The suburban women hate him and the college elite hate him and the poor hate him.

There is enough in the middle for him to win. The classic GOP and corporate elite are either Dems now or anti Trump but it may not be enough. He wins if the vote is today. That could change, especially if Biden is not the Dem canidate. Trump will beat Biden.

Incredible how stupid the Never Trumpers are.

Knowing what's coming with 4 more years of Biden (or with whichever radical leftist) in the White House.

Smart to vote for someone other than Trump in the primary. Smarter to vote for Trump if he wins the primary.

Then you must believe:

A. Biden truly got 81 million votes in 2020. Otherwise why wouldn't the Dems simply steal the election again in 2024 ?
B. Voter harvesting will not be pivotal in key states in 2024.
C. Dems will not obtain a conviction on Donald Trump ( if polls indicate it is needed ).
D. The media will be unbiased throughout the campaign.
E. Trump will stop texting and saying incredibly stupid-self defeating things.
F. Dems will not play the race card constantly as they have done the last 30 years

I saw Styx mention yesterday that Abbot should stop bussing illegals to NYC bc that is a lost cause and he should start sending them to Philly, Milwaukee and Michigan. Let those swing states get a better taste of the illegal invasion so they can have that fresh on their minds when voting. Thats a pretty good idea.

As I said above, I will believe it when I see it. When he's the actual nominee, I don't believe for a second Trump can beat Biden. Despite the Dems and middle class's dissatisfaction with Biden, I have no doubt they will pull the trigger for him again when it comes down to a binary choice between Trump and Biden.

Trump proved he can win back in 2016

Trump proved he can fall apart back in 2020

Biden proved a second term of Trump is worlds better for the United States than a second term of Biden

DeSantis proved he is a good, solid governor but is a piss-poor national campaigner

Vivek proved he has the heart we need, but he's not ready to be President

The mainstream media, as always, proved they have no morals or intelligence, not to mention critical thinking skills.

Whatever happens, it's going to mean a lot of angry folks. Some of whom matter.

Theoretically, there were a few, but the odds were too low for each. Then, Trump executed well. And none of his opponents did. As USUALLY happens, the challengers looked formidable on paper, but shrank when they stepped up into the glare of the lights on the national stage.

I'd prefer Trump/DeSantis, but smart money would be on Trump/Haley.

Trump executed well? LOL. Come on now. We all know Trump could have killed a family of four and he'd still be the nominee.

To be honest, I am surprised that Haley has made it as close as she has. Undoubtedly, Trump's continued absurd and ridiculous comments are driving the middle-of-the-roaders to her.

Won't be Trump/DeSantis or Trump/Haley.

Going to be Trump/Sycophant - one of the kiss ups in Congress or at the state level. Doubtful serious candidates will want that kind of baggage when Trump loses.

I am actually not a huge fan of Trump (he had his shot/time in the Big chair and I'm ready to move on to another candidate)

But it's pretty mean spirited to call the majority of the GOP voting base "sycophants".

Maybe we need to spend some time analyzing why Trump connects so well with the majority voters in the party in a way others don't?

And the answer can not be "me smart…voters stupid"
