Trump has been asking for donations for this. If this turns out to be Team Trump making this up to fundraise…that's some bs.

If it turns out to be legit, it's still bs.

Hunter Biden and his 'Big Guy' dad.

Oh, you really meant to demand that 'people you don't like' be the only ones arrested.

Just ignore that old 'Rule of Law' concept, and fall back on the Jacobite solution:

"J'Accuse!!"

If Hunter has committed a crime, I'm ok with him being prosecuted.

I don't understand how Conservatives sees Hunter as an immoral crackhead in one breath and believe his "big guy" comment means he's working with his dad.

And even more so, not see that there's more evidence that Trump and Jared did what you'd like Biden to be prosecuted for.

Kushner used the Whitehouse and his job there (Biden has never worked in government) to drive BILLIONS to his family portfolio.

This isn't what aboutism. This is "include them bothism"

Connections to a foreign corrupt state (Ukraine) and getting paid from them is where people make a distinction between Kushner and Hunter Biden.

But I agree. Trump letting his slime ball son-in-law have power in the White House was another massive on goal.

While Trump was honestly trying to stop mass immigration (what his voters wanted)…Kushner was trying to negotiate amnesty.

"They're stretching to make it a felony because the statute of limitations has likely run out on the misdemeanor. If the crime being concealed is a campaign finance violation, it's highly questionable whether they can prove it"

His lawyer spent time in prison for acts Trump ordered him to carry out for Trump's benefit. If Cohen's acts were a felony (which he plead guilty to), then where are all these misdemeanor talking points coming from? And if Cohen already plead guilty and served time, I doubt proof is much of an issue, unless there is some nuance I'm missing (certainly possible).

We don't even have to mention some tangential connection like Kushner, Trump himself lied to conceal a secret Chinese bank account that he withdrew millions from while he was POTUS. And of course Kushner (plus Mnuchin) got exponentially more from Qatar and the Saudis than Hunter Biden could even dream of. But somehow y'all like to pretend none of that ever happened.

Trump is charged with a different crime, falsifying business records, which is normally a misdemeanor in NY. If it was done to conceal another crime (presumably Cohen's) then it becomes a felony.

For purely selfish reasons, I'm hoping they arrest him and parade him in front of the cameras for the world to see. Why?

1. It will look like the political witch hunt it is. The reported charges Bragg is considering bringing would normally be a misdemeanor. It's a huge stretch by the DA's office based on what I've read to try and turn this into a felony. So clearly this will be viewed as a political witch hunt. And of course it is.

2. It will hurt Trump's chances of getting the nom, IMO. It allows the prosecution to bring forth overwhelming evidence he had an affair with Daniels while his own wife was pregnant. If Trump doesn't come forward and agree to testify at trial, he will look like he's hiding something. If he does come forward, he faces further felony charges for perjury. This opens the door wide open for his challengers.
On item #2 - maybe. A small number of voters will think the indictment renders him legally ineligible. But maybe not. Lots & lots of GOP'ers are ready to fight it out to the end. I was asked by a consultant a while back on that question (he was looking for perspective.) My response was (to condense) that I'd love to quit fighting over Trump all the time, and clearly the Dems had selected the battlefield on the legal issues, so there was obvious wisdom in choosing better ground. But. On the other hand, what they're doing to Trump is wrong and if they're willing to do it to him, they'll do it to the next guy, too. If we signal we'll cave to lawfare, then that's all we'll see going forward. So how could we NOT fight this one? No easy answer......

The problem is that they don't have jurisdiction and DOJ has already declined prosecution. NY DA can't prosecute a Federal crime. This is going to be thrown out and make Trump a victim. This is a stupid move by the Dems, just below the idiots storming the Capital. This will backfire.

Anyone that thinks Trump can win a General Election is fooling themselves. The Moderates, Independents and Reagan Democrats will not vote for him. It is a waste to nominate him. He couldn't beat Biden in 2020 with Biden not leaving the basement and no record to run on.

For every negative Biden has in the eyes of Baylor Alums, there are a "****-load" of people that agree with what he is doing. I know mid-terms are not good indicators for a Presidential, but the 2022 mid-terms shocked people how many people agree with the Dem's positions. Got news for you, that number is growing as Boomers and Gen X retiring and dying. Running Trump is a fools-errand. I work with local governments and see the number of HOA's, Activists, and citizens that are lockstep with the Dems. What these policies are doing doesn't matter. They disregard any data you show, it is all about social engineering. Its scary.

Running Trumps is a path to 4 more of the current ***** Run DeSantis, he can win. Hell, Halley is better than Trump. They way the world is going, Trump is exactly who they will nominate.

I was being inclusive, as some Gen X see things closer to Boomers and younger Gen X see things closer to Millenials.

I am shocked with the number of people that like Biden's platform and blame the older generation for the issues we see. They are acutally using the results of these policies as reasons we need the policies.

Mid Term 2022, Red wave never came. I suspect 2024 will go same way.

True. He also has done some really good stuff in terms of urban renewal that people don't give him credit for doing and leading. Many of the top areas now, Trump was the first one in.

However, his failures, bankruptcies and bad decisions have been in very public and spectacular fashion. One of the tragedies of Trump is his flamboyant bankruptcies, toxic personality and public bad decisions have overshadowed the positives

Oh I know, but anyone who has run ONE business knows the difficulties, so 255 Trump named businesses and over 500 Trump owned businesses means a lot more than 6 bankruptcies that were highly publicized thanks to parties with something to gain by making them highly publicized. Similar to how we can't blame Trump for the way Democrats behaved in response to his election win though many do so gleefully. "We had riots and protests under Trump! No thanks!" I do agree on his personality and take it a step further to say his public speaking is like nails on a chalkboard.

Manhattan DA Announces Plan To Get Trump Elected In 2024
MANHATTAN, NY Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has announced a brilliant new plan to get Trump elected President in 2024.
"I will stop at absolutely nothing to put Trump back in the White House where he belongs," said Mr. Bragg. "I'm about to charge up his base like you've never seen!"
Mr. Bragg had carefully waited until the moment he could give Trump the biggest political boost to push forward with an indictment. "Check and mate, libs," laughed Mr. Bragg as he pulled on a MAGA hat. "I've already put in my request to be Trump's Transportation Secretary, I hear it's super easy. 2024, here we come!"
After lawyers of every political allegiance agreed there was no criminal case against Trump over hush money paid during his 2016 campaign, Mr. Bragg knew taking the hopeless case was his big chance. "The optics of Democrats indicting, even handcuffing Trump on charges that have no chance of sticking - what more could the Trump campaign ask for?" said MSNBC's Rachel Maddow. "Mr. Bragg might be the most brilliant Republican strategist this century. He's playing chess while the rest of us are out here playing checkers."
At publishing time, Governor Ron DeSantis was wondering what sort of crime he needed to be indicted for to keep pace with Trump.

If that were true, Trump would not be where he is in the polls.
Where is he in the General Election Polls? Everyone I have seen shows even dementia Biden beating him.
See the 2015 polls for relevance.

General Election polls are seldom valuable until the primaries get going.

Chatted with my wife about this one.

She put it like this:

"I hate the guy, but he did the job he said he would do, and I will vote for him again"

She has zero interest in anyone else. Hates Democrats and does not trust Establishment GOP.

From what I hear, she represents tens of millions of voters.

Come on OldBear, you really think people are going to vote for Trump in 24 after all the **** since 2019? This is not the Trump that came down the elevator. This is a mean, vindictive, hateful Trump. Unfortunately, Trump has lost the traits and qualities that made him electable. NO ONE has any faith he can negotiate a deal, work with Congress or control his mouth.

I don't support Trump, but I don't ignore the facts, either. The problem for the GOP is that too many leading Republicans have no confidence from core voters.

The Deep State is a real thing, and we see it in the go-to-hell arrogance of McConnell and McCarthy and their cronies.

DeSantis has a real shot, but he needs a campaign manager who can sell RDS as Trump-only-better and he absolutely needs to win over the Trump base.

There are a lot of Trump voters who need to be wooed, not ignored or insulted. It won't matter how well your guy 'works with Congress' unless you win the White House, and to win the White House you better respect the Trump base.
