I believe that democrats once advised Republicans to soften their position on slavery.

Yep, they're still racist. They just disguise their racism as "compassion" these days.

My stance has changed on abortion. Based on what I have seen these last 2 1/2 years, any registered Democrat voter or anyone that claims they voted for Joe Biden should be given an exemption, regardless of their state law. They should be granted an abortion, no questions asked up to full gestation. It is in the best interest of our country to limit the number of Liberal Democrats in the future. We are talking about the long-term survival of our country. This is a win/ win except for the unborn that will give their lives for a better future for all of us.

What say you Liberal Democrats? Isn't this what you want? Let's light this candle. Common ground.

I have made my position very clear. No abortions after 15 weeks except for risk to the mother, rape, incest, or the detection of severe birth defects.

If you are a liberal progressive Loony Tune, you can have abortion on demand up to birth. Progressive women will have a card stamped. Upon your third abortion, you get a free toaster. After getting your card stamped for a fourth abortion, you will receive a case of condoms and a large bottle of aspirin.

You must admit, this is a great compromise! Both parties get their way. And at the same time we can limit populating the planet with Joe Biden brain dead Democrats. Everybody wins!!!!! To get the exception, just show your voter registration showing you're a Democrat. In the event you have multiple voter registration cards (fairly common these days), just use any one of them. It really does not matter.

yes, I can and I have an adopted child from birth. I too hate abortion, obviously am so grateful to my daughter's birth mother for making an adoption plan and choosing NOT to have an abortion. However, rape, incest, health of the mother . I'm good with that. I do believe a women has a choice with her body and a bunch of white religious dudes should not get a say.

Abortion as an issue has been returned to the states by the Supreme Court.

There really is no position to take on this at the federal level besides it is no longer a federal issue, and any attempt to make it one (pro life or pro choice) should be fought tooth and nail.

Here's my feeling on that. I am unapologetically prolife. The problem is that many prolifers are open to compromise but many, if not most, prochoicers are not. They will not agree to outlawing abortion except for the situations you mention SO...if they are not willing to compromise, why should I?
Actually I agree with Aliceinbubbleland. Abortion (at 15 weeks or sooner) should be a decision between the mother and father and ultimately the mother. It is not our place to speak for every woman in the world and her individual circumstances. It is a decision between her and God.

My daughter recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. We cannot imagine life without him.
Your thoughts on this matter seem a bit incongruous. You are delighted with your beautiful baby grandson and can't imagine life without him......yet you would have supported your daughter's decision to tear him limb by limb as he is ripped away from the safe environment of the womb he was healthily developing in, even if it was for mere convenience?
When our daughter came to us in tears after learning she was pregnant, she was unsure if her and her fianc were ready to be parents. My daughter had advanced endometriosis, so her even getting pregnant was a longshot. She knew my stance on abortion. I hugged and held her and told no matter what her decision, I would still love her. I am her father and will always love her no matter what.

Once she heard the baby's heartbeat after the sonogram, she said there was no way she was giving up that baby.
My liberal, indoctrinated daughter gave birth to an angel from Heaven. My daughter did not tear him limb from limb. She did the right thing.

Yes, abortion is a HORRIBLE thing!
....but you would have supported her "right" to tear him limb from limb, correct? That's the incongruous part.
So how many unwanted children have you adopted, fed, housed, and clothed through the age of eighteen? Yeah, that's what I thought. You remind me of a blue state sanctuary city.

Took some friends out last night to dinner celebrating the 70th birthday of the wife of one of my best friends.

( Both loyal Baylor alumni )

Practicing Christians, the birthday girl announced her support of abortion. Huge supporter of Trump's policies ( though not of his personality) she explained how young women resented ' old white men 'interfering with their bodies.

Pointed out that in many cases young women simply didn't have the financial resources or family support to carry an unexpected pregnancy to term.

That if we wanted to save the lives of these babies somehow some form of national financial support for these women must be established.

Her comments ( though surprising ) certainly rang true to me.
As unappealing as it is with fervent pro lifers ; Trump needs to adjust his views on abortion to stand any chance in November.

It is surprising to me how many older and middle-aged women past child-bearing age seem to have dug their heels in on abortion rights.

Should the father likewise have no say ?

I do agree with optional abortion in cases of rape or to save the life of the mother.

But those are very rare circumstances. Most abortions are due to economic concerns or convenience.

So then Democrats must soften their position on the death penalty for women who kill their kids?
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?

Trump was correct today affirming that the Supreme Court has sent abortion back to the individual states. I think he should have been less vague and said that he personally would allow abortions up to fifteen weeks but he has no plans to initiate a national abortion ban. Could have been game over. The fact that he didn't tells me he is still taking marching orders from some far-right large donors.

Trump and the Republicans need to realize 30 percent of Democrats would rather chop their right arm off than not be able to slay their unborn child. That is the reality and just who these people are. This single issue could still swing the election.

Agreed. But the same people that told us the Russia Hoax was real and Hunter's laptop was fake will have The View voters convinced Trump wants a complete national abortion ban with the death penalty for doctors, nurses, and Indian Chiefs. We have moved to the Orwellian, post-fact world.

Of course all the they know what a woman is….its always politics with them.

They also only enforce laws they like:

[Attorney General Kris Mayes, a Democrat, said moments after the ruling that she would not enforce the law.

"Let me be completely clear, as long as I am Attorney General, no woman or doctor will be prosecuted under this draconian law in this state," Mayes said in a statement, adding that the decision was "unconscionable" and "an affront to freedom."

Democrats all the way up to President Joe Biden also blasted the ruling.]

So women should be forced to have babies for the good of the state? Lets set up an award system for those that have 5 or more. They are really giving it the old heave ho try.
