It was a stupid idea from the beginning because it's all a lie used for discrimination & oppression. It's a modern day Jim Crow.

She's resigned her post, but remains on Law School faculty, so basically she gets to promote her hate more from within.

I'd be curious to know President Reverse Cowgirl's assessment on this.

It beats getting fired in a very nasty & public manner.

If she'd walked away from academia period, why would it need to get nasty. I hope that $100 million still gets held back because Penn hasn't changed a thing as long as her Nazi self is still there in any capacity.

It's already pretty nasty because of the circumstances.

This is how SNL chose to cover this...making Rep. Stefanik look like the crazy one.

These writers are just awful...

Actually they do, if you are one of them who consider "microaggressions" and "misgendering" to be atrocities.

They don't know what REAL atrocities are, what Israel suffered on October 7.

Harvard Announces Claudine Gay Will Remain As University Fhrer
CAMBRIDGE, MA Despite the heavy controversy caused by her responses to questions regarding antisemitism on campus while testifying before Congress, Harvard has confirmed that Claudine Gay will stay on as University Fhrer.
"We remain steadfastly loyal to our dear leader," the Harvard University board said in a collective statement. "While the last few weeks have been a difficult time, she has inspired all of us to press on toward the goal of creating a great and glorious Harvard, free of any pollution or impurity. Heil Claudine Gay! Harvard ber Alles!"
Gay has fought back against allegations of antisemitism and plagiarism in recent weeks, surviving widespread calls for her firing or resignation. "Nein nein nein nein nein!" Gay shouted while pounding on the podium after being asked if she would resign due to the scandal. "Our university faculty has never been more united than it is this day! We all share in the great struggle to advance our noble cause! We will not be deterred! We will not be defeated! Long live a great and glorious Harvard!"
Despite public outcry, the school's board expressed its unanimous support for Gay. "Never in our school's history have we had such strong leadership," the board's statement said. "With Claudine Gay as Harvard University Fhrer, we will reach new heights and the greatness of our school has no bounds!"
At publishing time, Gay also announced the creation of a new Sigma Sigma fraternity for students to instill a greater level of pride and passion in the school's students.

Dollars talk.

Ending federal student loan guarantees has been on my wish list for decades. It is a primary driver of tuition rate increases.

The more things we can get the federal government out of the better. Each area will improve dramatically without Washington politicians & bureaucrats trying to dictate their stupid ideas: education, health care, energy, etc.

For healthcare and K-12 education it is state politicians that are doing the harmful over-regulating. Vote the whole ballot.

While stars governments are a part of the problem, it's the federal government that's causing much of the damage. Reagan was correct in wanting to get rid of the Dept of Education. It serves no useful purpose for education. Add to that what federal student loans & grants do to colleges and we have an entire educational structure that is top-heavy & bloated, dysfunctional, and often totally evil.

Again, I'm with you at the college level but public schools get less than 10% of their funds from the federal government and that's mostly school lunch programs. The worst influence is state and local.

The federal government is horrible about creating policies or rules for K-12 education and then not providing funds for them.

They absolutely are creating havoc in that system as well.

States should created very minimum standards and get out of the way and let local districts run schools.

I agree but it is going the opposite direction. Both in states and at the federal level.

It all started with the complaints (that had some merit) of schools using different assessments, different GPA measures, and a 4.0 at School A not being the same as a 4.0 at School B so states and US government have gotten involved and the issue is the same, just with more hoops to jump through as they both grab more and more control.

A good example is that there are numerous reports for the federal government that have to be done (quarterly, twice a year, annually, etc.) for the small amount of money they give. And they are not short reports.

Another would be with SPED laws that add lots of rules and regulations that cost the districts money and have minimal impact and really have no direct connection to the students.

There are plenty of others as well.

The feds create all kinds of policies for schools, some good (civil rights) some not so good (CRT, the entire trans agenda, etc). Others have provided examples as well.

Coming back to money, the feds influence or control education through various methods besides direct payments such as research grants, scholarships, student loans (which the federal government took over completely about a decade), etc.
