This brings up some very good points. Things that people don't think about, design specifications for example.

Now, if DOGE wants to upgrade our National specifications to take on a China in the future? I am all for it. Restructuring, is something I think should happen. Coordinating Dept of Labor with the Technical Agencies of Transportation, Energy and others. All for it, we live in a world where we need it and we need the efficiency of coordination. But, doing away with any oversight of just what this guy is talking about and relying on the "private sector". No way, the private sector is about profit, what he is talking about here would be viewed at as over-regulation and needed to be removed.

So, how do you deregulate AND take on Nation that can outproduce you with higher design standards? They may not be there yet, as some will say the quality is not there now, but it is coming.

Because they are not profit oriented. Their Corporations have State goals and profit is secondary. As long as we are profit first, to the point of cutting operating and r/d for cost reductions to create executive bonuses and dividends China will have a theoretical edge. We live in the US for the 1% cost savings,
