While there is much room to criticize the GOP, in a world where the democrat party is taking people's sons away and turning them into eunuchs against their parents wishes his response is the weak sauce response of a seat filler pastor. He needs to spend some time reading Jeremiah and Isaiah. The democrat party of the 70s may have been communist, but the one of today is overtly satanic.

You actually believe this?

I'm well aware that Bibles are sold. . . . I've bought my share. Politicians do not and should not sell self-promoting Bibles for profit. I don't care who the politician is or what party it is. But I am even more troubled by someone doing it who is everything a Christian should not be.
So, I guess you're not voting for Trump the Bible pusher then?
now, little Petey..... you really think Fat boy pimping bibles is ok? this is so disgusting even by Fat Orange standards . just amazing

I couldn't careless about Trump selling bibles.

You should .
No I shouldn't.

I care about things that matter. You know, like our unsecured border.
I suppose there is some logic there. I care about things that REALLY matter. You know securing the border and honesty & integrity
Something that the two leading candidates don't have, so I pick policy.

Time to be pragmatic, one candidate hawking Bibles pales in comparison to the guy that has made our border nothing more than a turn style our has zero regard for our national security.

But hey, please don't vote for the orange boogey man, I wouldn't want you to compromise your stellar integrity or principles. Meanwhile, I'll vote for the guy that takes border security seriously, even if he makes a few bucks selling a book.

Agree that Trump & Biden lack integrity
Thanks for understanding about not compromising my integrity and principles
Both are grifters

Not To Be Outdone By Trump, Biden Releases Own Version Of The Quran
WASHINGTON, D.C. Not to be outdone by Trump releasing the "God Bless The USA" Bible, President Biden announced today the production of his very own "Allahu Joe Biden" edition of the Quran.
"Just in time for Ramadan!" exclaimed Biden, holding up a copy fresh off the printing press. "Allahu, uh, the thing!"
According to sources, the new Quran will come with a copy of the Hamas charter as well as a list of President Biden's favorite Arabic proverbs. "Back when I was a kid, I was literally raised in mosques! I was always hanging out with the Imams -- not a joke," said Biden. "Muslim Joe, that's what they used to call me back in Scranton. Trump thinks he's such a hotshot with his Bible, wait until you see the 'Allahu Joe Biden' Quran, the Arabs are going to go crazy for this."
Though the White House vehemently denied Biden's new Quran to be associated with his poor poll numbers in Minnesota and Michigan, pundits have remained skeptical. "With no improvement in the polls after negotiating to free 400 Hamas terrorists, Biden is getting desperate," said Hill commentator Janice Beasley. "Sadly, I don't think he knows how the Muslim community is going to take the phrase 'Allahu Joe'. This won't be pretty."
At publishing time, Biden had announced a humanitarian airdrop of Biden Qurans into Dearborn, Michigan.

Zero doubt in my mind that if Jesus returned today and criticized Trump he would be slammed by Trumpsters as a Swamp created libtard. And probably by Trump as well.
Two families recently left our church. Longtime members. Great folks, but really turned into full-fledged MAGA - the best and worst of it. I think they will return at some point. But it was simple as this:

Longtime pastor and close friend of both families. Went on missions trips together; worked locally for charities, etc. Pastor is conservative, but rarely talks politics and sermons don't go there at all. I'd bet a good chunk of change he voted for Trump, but he's never talked about it.

One Sunday in January, the sermon was on that . . . ya know . . . ultra-controversial love your neighbor principle. In one of numerous examples, he mentioned both political sides have gone overboard, too much vitriol, etc. Neighbor against neighbor. We can disagree without being disagreeable. He mentioned that the "political leaders" themselves aren't helping much, Repubs and Dems. Said our political leaders sure as heck aren't role models. He returned to that theme a few weeks later.

No mention of Trump (or Biden). No praise of Democrats.

Families asked for a meeting with pastor. Said he was undermining the abortion and other Christian issues. He was engaging in "whataboutism." They didn't appreciate him bringing politics into his sermons, but also said, "if anyhting, we should build Trump up and pray for him."

Pastor was shocked. He didn't back down but emphasized it was just a real life example of an area that our leaders and all of us could do better. Said we should pray for all of our leaders. Families weren't satisfied and left the church.
seems like they were going to church for the wrong reason

Hope they figure it out.

That's the irony. If someone like Jimmy Carter were the Democrats' nominee, he'd wipe the floor with Trump.

But the Democrats are backing Biden, somehow believing he represents their best chance to win.

Trump's Newest Venture? A $60 Bible.
His Bible sales pitch comes as he appears to be confronting a significant financial squeeze, with his legal fees growing while he fights a number of criminal cases and lawsuits.

Before he turned to politics, former President Donald J. Trump lent his star power and celebrity endorsement to a slew of consumer products steaks, vodka and even for-profit education, to name just a few.
On Tuesday, Mr. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, added a new item to the list: a $60 Bible.
Days before Easter, Mr. Trump posted a video on his social media platform in which he encouraged his supporters to buy the "God Bless the USA Bible," named after the ballad by the country singer Lee Greenwood, which Mr. Trump plays as he takes the stage at his rallies.
"All Americans need a Bible in their home, and I have many. It's my favorite book," said Mr. Trump, who before entering politics was not overtly religious and who notably stumbled while referencing a book of the Bible during his 2016 campaign. "It's a lot of people's favorite book."
Though Mr. Trump is not selling the Bible, he is getting royalties from purchases, according to a person familiar with the details of the business arrangement.
Priced at $59.99, plus shipping and tax, the "God Bless the USA Bible" includes a King James Bible and a handwritten version of the chorus of Mr. Greenwood's song, and copies of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance.
In his video, Mr. Trump expressed his approval of the book's blend of theology with foundational American political documents, framing that mix as central to the political call that has been his longtime campaign slogan, Make America Great Again.
"Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country," Mr. Trump said. Later, he added, "We must make America pray again."
As he runs for president this year, Mr. Trump has framed his campaign as a crusade to defend Christian values from the left. He often makes false or misleading claims that Democrats are persecuting Christians. Last month, he told a religious media convention that Democrats wanted to "tear down crosses."
His Bible sales pitch comes as he appears to be confronting a significant financial squeeze. With his legal fees growing while he fights four criminal cases and a number of civil lawsuits, Mr. Trump is also being required to post a $175 million bond while he appeals his New York civil fraud case a hefty amount, though one that is significantly smaller than the $454 million penalty imposed in the case.
According to the Bible's website, Mr. Trump's "name, likeness and image" are being used "under paid license from CIC Ventures LLC."
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to questions about the business arrangement. But CIC Ventures is also connected to another product Mr. Trump has hawked while campaigning: $399 "Never Surrender" sneakers that he announced at a sneaker convention in Philadelphia last month.
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/25/style/succession-ilia-malinin-figure-skating.html

There is no financial squeeze. He is a billionaire and can pay everything cash. Yet, had to get the bond reduced and is hawking everything from sneakers to bibles. The 2024 Commemorative Juicer is on its way...

I learned from a guy who had over 20 million about 30 years ago. He drove a 15+ year old beat up truck and 20 year out of date plaid shirts.

They find ways to make money, keep money and spend others money. Why pay for 460m bond when 175m was offered?

It reminds of when a GOP convention had a huge golden Trump head and people were taking pictures of themselves beside it. Pure golden calf level idolatry.

Trump is the kind of person who loves Christians only insofar as he supports them, but if they were to withdraw their support or criticize him he would turn on a dime and persecute them. Purely transactional. I hope these Christians who love him will beware. Don't trust humans, only trust Jesus.

But here's the rub, and there's really no escape from it: if the choice is between a money-changer-at-the-temple Trump who listens to and supports his base of Christians and a leftist candidate who is beholden to those who want Christianity destroyed and Christians marginalized, then there really isn't a choice for Christians, is there?

This is good work. Throw in some stuff about the witch hunt after he and Bathsheba didn't actually do anything, she wasn't his type, he doesn't remember even meeting her at all, and you've pretty much covered Two Samuel.

David had a beautiful slingshot, quite frankly. And he took down "Lying" Goliath who was a total disaster for the Philistines. It was unbelievable. And I actually was the one who threw the rock, people don't know that because of the Fake News!
This is good work. Throw in some stuff about the witch hunt after he and Bathsheba didn't actually do anything, she wasn't his type, he doesn't remember even meeting her at all, and you've pretty much covered Two Samuel.

Come to think of it, you know what I might actually buy? TRUMP'S commentaries on the bible.
That would mean he would have to read it.

Now, you may get Trump's ghostwritten commentaries on what the Bible SHOULD say and what he really meant when Trump inspired its writing...

Well, yeah, obviously TRUMP'S commentaries on the bible would have to be ghostwritten, but they'd be a hoot.

What if TRUMP just replaced Leviticus with "The Art of the Deal?" I might not even notice, Leviticus ain't exactly a Tom Clancy novel, and I'd prolly skip that section entirely.

What's interesting is that when Trump does something goofy like come out with his own Bible he gets (justifiably) attacked relentlessly by the entire Liberal/Left faction of America and about half of the American Right.

But when Biden slaps Christians in the face on any given occasion or issue he is defended by the entire Liberal/Left faction and about half of the Right.

Its a very interesting dynamic….and it replicates constantly

Not saying I wouldn't read it. Be nice to finally get some answer from the source

Hard to say.

According to the special investigator his own AG appointed …..Biden is too old and memory is too far gone to be prosecuted for flagrant mishandling of secret documents.

Yet this same old man , the oldest man to ever be POTUS is magically qualified to run for re election . Is qualified to be in 'charge' of 3000 hydrogen bombs.

And NO ONE in the Democratic Party has the integrity to say out loud….

THIS IS CRAZY.

NO ONE in the national media has the professionalism to say out loud.

Under no circumstances should Joe Biden be the Democratic Party nominee in 2024.

To me, this is the most appalling thing he's ever done, and that's saying something.

Encouraging Bible sales and Bible reading?
A politician/non-Christian/false prophet selling $60 Bibles to make a profit and promote himself during a campaign?, Yes, appalling and I'd say even blasphemous. I can picture Jesus up there turning over tables . . . .

Not to mention, even practically speaking, he is turning off far more non-believers than he is attracting to Christianity.

as blasphemous as raising money to put Bibles next to the motel beds in which prostitutes ply their trade?

I would rather think Jesus appreciates the distribution of Bibles.

Here's a wild and crazy thought. Maybe - just maybe - Trump has changed. Believe it or not, people can and actually do change from time to time. I'm not claiming he has (only he and God know for sure), but I am saying that it's not the impossibility many apparently assume - largely if not totally based on things that happened well before he ever campaigned as a Presidential candidate.

And again, even if he hasn't (and I repeat only he and God know), he has been and will be far more of a "Christian friendly" POTUS than the alternative - just to say the least.

SNL had an absolute genius skit on Trump and his Bible pimping. So funny and spot on.

Melanie Trump is a practicing Catholic .

It's not impossible that she has had an impact on her husband as he has gotten older .

But it's Trumps ACTIONS toward Christians, members of law enforcement, and the working class in general that really counts .

Also approve of Trumps America First attitude.

Time Europe defended itself. World War Two ended almost 80 years ago.
