Cruz is a lying pos. Trump insults his wife and a month later he announces he supports Trump. Cruz calls T a pathological liar then welcomes his support. He is a clown.

Voting for Colin will not make my kids of gdks gay or Tran. You do know there a openly gay republican leaders don't you.

I have never voted dem but I will choose between Colin or some unknown libertarian.

Colin and the rest of the Texas dems vote in lock step with Pelosi & AOC.
Supporting Colin is 100% Supporting the trans insanity, which is specifically targeting young children.
If you truly believe that voting dem won't adversely affect children... then you are very ignorant. They have made it clear for decades now that your children are actually "our children". The dems do not believe that you have parental rights. They believe that your kids belong to the state. This is exactly what they have said, over & over again. And now we can see what they plan to do with your kids.... trans & LGBT indoctrination.
You are a fool of you believe that they aren't trying to brainwash your kids.
They are telling you their agenda.... believe them.
You're making a mountain out of a mole hill. The % of trans people minuscule. There's not enough of them to seriously threaten or impact anyone - a distraction. On the other hand, their 'threat' is nothing when compared to Trump/Cruz, whose campaigns are built upon patently overt and unrepentant lies, anti-constitutional, anti-democratic, and even unchristian demagoguery. They are unpatriotic and in opposition to the basic values this country stands for, and the values said to be taught by Jesus. I wouldn't vote for Pelosi or AOC either. Better to vote your conscience if you can't vote for either. There is always an alternative.

Matt: 7: 15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits.Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
You're making a mountain out of a mole hill. In 2020, there was a peaceful transition of power. Trump stepped down, and the disaster that has been the Biden admin came to power. That will happen again in 2024. And 2028. Trump is no more a "threat" to democracy than you or I.

But I will tell you what is a threat to our way of life. Open borders, runaway inflation, wars throughout the world, a packed Supreme Court, and woke policies. There is NOTHING about the current admin that represents the values taught by Jesus or our founders.

If one is Christian and/or conservative, there is only one viable option this election cycle. And it's quite obvious.

P.S. You're also minimizing the trans issue. Read a statistic that the number of children identifying as trans or non-binary is around 20%. That is truly scary.
Your view of the gospel and mine are radically different. Hating on immigrants is not something I think Jesus would encourage.
Here is what Jesus said:

"Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever does not enter the sheepfold by the gate, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber."

John 10:1

It seems Jesus cared if someone entered legally or illegally.

Ard you deliberately trying to misstate scripture? Do you realize what an egregious sin that is?

The story of Sodom & Gomorrah is from Genesis and does not require jumping ahead hundreds of years to the prophet Ezekiel to understand their sin or the consequences. The complete story can be found in Genesis 19: they were perverts engaged in homosexuality and seeking to rape God's angels sent there to save Lot and his family. The text is very clear and unambiguous. God punished those wicked people by raining fire & brimstone down upon them from the sky. I believe archaeological evidence has been found to confirm the story.

No amount of deception, obfuscation, and lying can hide these clear facts from scripture. And if there were any doubts that homosexuality was a sin for all time, one only needs to read Romans 1 to see it condemned as such in no uncertain terms and with clear context.

One is saved by repenting from sin (turning away from it) not embracing it and by believing in Jesus Christ. There is no other way to escape the consequences of sin which is eternal damnation in hell. For anyone truly wanting to understand these realities, read the entire book of Romans. It is filled with great wisdom about these facts and much more.

Despite your hatred, there is an active LGBTQ community at Baylor.

Being honest about perversion is not hatred. That kind of talk is absurd and, ironically, hateful.

A fetus is not a baby you religious zealot. You talk about perversion but find it well within your morals to support a man who has allegedly assaulted several women, cheated on all his spouses and has bragged about other sexual acts he's conducted.

Like I said before, there's no hate like Christian "love".

Religion has nothing to do with the simple fact that a new human exists at conception, moron.

There is nothing hateful about wanting to stop illegal immigration, the smuggling of drugs that kill thousands of Americans each year, or sex trafficking that literally enslaves children to pedophiles.

In fact, it is the fascists (Dems) who hate immigrants by placing more of them under the control of the cartels who exploit and abuse them. For good measure, they hate women as illustrated by allowing men to compete in women's sports and they hate children with their obsession with infanticide and mutilating children. Fixing a water leak under the house doesn't say "I hate water". It says "I want to control the flow of water at the faucet."

Putting out a destructive fire in the house isn't saying "fire is useless". It says "I'd prefer to be warmed by it in the fireplace and not out of control. I'd prefer it working on a stovetop being productive."

I need both water and fire. Immigration for the nation is the same. Water, fire and immigration are all destructive when not limited.

Flame away Harris supporters/never-Trumpers.

Will vote for him because he was a good president and wasn't the bogeyman people like you promised he would be. You all were wrong and the American people benefited under his term.

Sure, here I gladly defend Trump against TDSers because their logic is so bad and inconsistent.

Fwiw, I think he's flawed, wasn't my original first pick, but I can see that he's proven he's up to the job. Honestly no one else is even better remotely as capable of fighting the progressives at this point.

Trump is is the only option when we're faced with the crap storms and grooming that the left brings.
As for the the TDS proclaimed terrible things that will supposedly follow, anything is possible but not necessarily probable. We do know the path a Harris victory takes us on.

Ton of work to do today so I will answer you and all the others who responded in one post and then be gone for a while.

Someone asked my view of the Gospel, which was a good question. Here is the summary I always turn to:

Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Immigrants are neighbors and we are commanded to love them as we do ourselves and our countrymen. Donald Trump's flagship issue from the day he announced his candidacy in 2015 has been to demonize immigrants. He spends more time on that policy subject than any other. He began by calling immigrants rapists and murders and today he says they have inferior genetics or that they eat people's pets. It is endless and constant. They are not mis-statements; they are the core of his appeal.

Any argument in response that Trump does not intentionally demonize immigrants is willful ignorance, IMHO.
Trump encourages hate of others rather than love. How any Christian cannot see see Trump's message as the polar opposite of what Christ commanded is beyond me. To Mothra's point, I guess that makes me an "abnormal Christian" but what it really makes me is sad. I am 100% sure Christ would rebuke Trump's statements about immigrants. The fact that American Christianity has rallied around Trump on this issue demonstrates to me just how far Christians have travelled from the central message of the gospel.

All of that does not mean I am for "open borders." The fact is we do not have an open border. I say that based on my understanding of the issue, which is admittedly incomplete, but here goes.

Open Borders implies anyone can enter at any time for any reason. The reality is that the majority of immigrants during the Biden administration did not enter covertly. Instead, they presented themselves to law enforcement and claimed asylum. Their cases have been handled as the law prescribes. The large numbers of asylum seekers mismatched against the lower amount of resources created a backlog that takes years to clear. I do not doubt that this backlog encourages even more asylum seekers and the backlog problem grows as a result. Regardless of whether an asylum seeker is a good person or a bad person, it is wrong to have a broken system that puts/allows asylum seekers to be in legal limbo for 5-10 years.

Trump tried to fix the problem by increasing the frequency of family separation and then by using pandemic restrictions as a basis for making asylum seekers remain in Mexico while their cases lingered. Biden reversed the remain in Mexico edict as the pandemic eased. It took almost a year before SCOTUS, normally hostile to Biden administration policies, had to recognize that absent pandemic reasons the remain in Mexico edict was not mandatory. Biden then tried to fashion a legislative solution and came pretty close to passing it until Trump spooked his followers in the House. It is pretty clear that they and he wanted to emphasize immigration in the campaign more than they wanted to begin to solve the problem.

Politically, Trump and the House GOP was undoubtedly correct. The number of asylum seekers was so large that Biden ordered a work around that is not "remain in Mexico" but is close, along with other increased border enforcement efforts. The number of crossers fell dramatically. Still immigration is the lead issue in the campaign for the GOP.

Outside of asylum seekers I am not aware of any substantive policy difference between Biden and Trump on how immigration law was enforced on the ground. Trump wants to build his wall and promises ramped up deportations in his second term, but has never explained how the deportations will work. My point here is that the difference to date between Trump and Biden has been about 95% how they dealt with asylum seekers.

It is not like I don't see both sides. The pandemic restrictions made sense to me. The first job of the president is to protect the well being of the country. Until there was a vaccine, admitting millions of people who would depend on a health care system that was under great stress would violate that duty. I do not know if that is why Trump created remain in Mexico but I agreed with the result under the circumstances. On the other hand, the level and incompetency of family separations before that was inhumane and unnecessary.

We are no longer in a pandemic. The best result would be a fast, effective asylum process, a guest worker program, and strict enforcement for any one entering illegally given that those other opportunities exist. Trump and his GOP does not want that; they want to shut the valve off. That is a policy mistake. With a declining birthrate and a more educated populace, we need labor. Also, Trump and his GOP paints with such a broad brush it becomes difficult for us to import brainpower. All of that will harm, not help, our economy.

The arguments that immigrants are criminals bent on the destruction of America or freeloaders are just untrue, both statistically speaking and in my personal experience. We have seen the same thing repeated throughout our country's history-Irish, Italians, African-Americans, and Asians were all labelled the same way at one point. Always incorrectly.

American exceptionalism means there is something unique about us; something that makes us different. To me that has always been that there is no defined aristocracy; anyone can ascend to power, fame, money and privilege. We have been imperfect about the execution but the concept has always existed. Keeping people out because they are allegedly inferior is a giant leap backward from what we should aspire to be.

In summary, on the issue that defines him, I see Trump as unChristian and unAmerican.

It is not your medical decision because you have a certain religious belief that does not out medically. It is none of your business. You did address these points which I assume means I am right.

When a "medical decision" involves the killing of a healthy, innocent human life, then it is no longer merely a medical decision, it becomes an ethical and moral one. Every women who seeks an abortion is responsible for the consequences of that decision but it is none your business - medically, morally, or ethically. You may course have own moral or ethical opinion but you have no right to foist that opinion off on these women. You no right to tell a woman whether it is your wife, daughter, granddaughter that she carry a fetus to term. You may preach or teach otherwise to them but that is as far as it goes.

This isn't a hard concept. Libs and Dems, please get this through to your head and stop posting the same stupid and tired arguments. Why answer such a blatant lie? No, dem believes in 'killing of a healthy, innocent human life," That's a stupid straw man and you know.

This comment is as stupid as it gets. Abortion is no different than shooting a baby in a crib. It is the intentional murder of an innocent human life, a.k.a. MURDER. To say that murder is not a moral issue and is none of your business unless you are the one committing the murder... that's just insane.

I also don't have a lot of time today, so I'll just cut to the chase here.

About 90% of your problem on the topic is that you conflate immigration and immigrants in general with ILLEGAL immigration and criminal immigrants. Trump does not "hate immigrants" as you have stated. Trump hates illegal immigration and the violation of law.

If you could separate illegal immigration from legal immigration in your mind, you would probably begin to understand the issue. As it is, you are believing a bunch of nonsense and emotional lies.... very sad.

You seem totally unaware that over 90% of those claiming asylum are not actually seeking asylum, but are just attempting to "game the system" and use the asylum loop hole. Likewise, you actually believe that all of those children were "separated from their families" when just a few conversations with border patrol agents in Texas would educate you to the fact that the vast majority of those children were actually being trafficked by cartels for the sex trade.

You did make this statement, but i doubt you truly understand how relevant it is in this case... "I say that based on my understanding of the issue, which is admittedly incomplete, but here goes." Your understanding is extremely incomplete. I encourage you to go talk with some border patrol agents in South Texas.

1. Loving our neighbors does not require open borders or any form of socialism. There are many ways for us as individuals to help people who are less fortunate both inside and outside our country. Also, Jesus never advocated blatantly violating the law or corrupt & incompetent government. Lastly, the command to "love your neighbor" is to each of us as an individual. We cannot legitimately ignore that responsibility by passing it on to the government especially since it's an evil political ploy by corrupt politicians & bureaucrats to line their pockets & increase their power at the expense of everyone else.

2. Trump has not "demonized" immigrants. He is critical of illegal aliens because they are crime ska and far too many are guilty of numerous crimes including rape & murder. It is the proper responsibility of govt to punish criminals and protect the citizens from dangers, both foreign and domestic. This is clearly constitutional and biblical.

It's not two continents. It's six. This invasion, orchestrated by Biden & Harris, included illegals from Arica, Asia, Australia, & Europe. The only continent not included is Antarctica because it has no native human population.

You cannot control a woman's body. Your wife and daughter are NOT your property contrary to what you think.
Good grief goober, nobody said they did control their wife or sisters body. Nor could they.

Otoh, a woman shouldn't be able to control the body of a human being that just happens to be living inside of her.
It is not her body. It is the body of another human being.
It's not "a human being living inside." It's a zygote then a fetus then a living breathing human being. "A God breathed into the man the breathe of life.

However in some states abortions are now legal for any reason right up until the baby's head passes through the birthing canal.

Such actions are an inexcusable abomination.
It is not your medical decision because you have a certain religious belief that does not out medically. It is none of your business. You did address these points which I assume means I am right.

No, dem believes in 'killing of a healthy, innocent human life," That's a stupid straw man and you know.

Then why do you and the Democratic party support abortion there Waco? I do not support abortion. I abhor it but I am smart enough to know that governments both stand and federal have any right to tell a woman what to do with their bodies.

That is the killing of a healthy, innocent human life.....So are going against scripture? Genesis 2:7 Then the Lord God formed a man[c] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Is the Bible suddenly not inerrant?"

You might abhor it but the people you vote for celebrate it. That's simply an invalid opinion. It is just lazy thinking.

BS.
Democrats literally celebrate abortions. Your denial of the plain facts is truly amazing.

BS. At the DNC convention they were doing abortions right outside the arena. Stupidly false

Fact check: Is the DNC offering free abortions to attendees?
Politics Aug 21, 2024 3:40 PM EDT
This fact check originally appeared on PolitiFact.
Reproductive rights took center stage during the Democratic National Convention's first night in Chicago. But is the DNC offering free abortions and vasectomies to attendees, as some conservative social media users have claimed?
WATCH: 2024 Democratic National Convention Night 2
RNC Research, an X account run by the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee, posted Aug. 18, "Democrats are giving out 'free abortions and vasectomies' at their convention."
Other users made similar claims on X.
A Planned Parenthood branch is providing free medication abortion, vasectomies and emergency contraception through a mobile health clinic in Chicago that's running at the same time as the DNC. But the convention is not sponsoring or otherwise connected to these services.
Planned Parenthood Great Rivers, which is based in the St. Louis region, said Aug. 14 on X and Aug. 19 in a press release that its mobile health unit would be stationed Aug. 19 and 20 in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood. Planned Parenthood Great Rivers said Aug. 17 that all of its appointment spots had been filled.
LIVE FACT CHECK: Night 3 of the Democratic National Convention
The DNC is not being held in the West Loop. The event's nighttime programming and speeches are at the United Center, a few blocks east of the West Loop. Daytime events are at the McCormick Place Convention Center, a few miles south of the West Loop, according to the DNC's website.
The DNC's website does not list Planned Parenthood as a partner, sponsor or vendor for the event, nor does it mention this mobile health clinic.
