Required Covid testing and lockdowns. Strongly pushed the unproven vaccines for All Americans saying they were safe and effective. They were neither.

This is the only thing that ever made sense. We saw widespread groupthink panic leading to incalculable, unnecessary self-inflicted injuries.

We made the huge error of allowing narrow specialists to dictate policy (Trump began this error, the Democrats continued it at a higher rate of speed). No one was wiling to be the adult in the room, with few isolated exceptions (notably DeSantis, Sweden). The feelers in society were running so hot that they intimidated and ran over most of the thinkers.

It would be easier to forgive the missteps in the early days. The problem is, when you're quarantining people and ruining people's businesses, yet you continue to double down on clearly unsupported bull****, passing it off as fact, that is pretty difficult to forgive.

And that is what Fauci did. He doubled down on all of the bull****, and attacked anyone who disagreed as science deniers.

And then of course trying to hide the gain of function research was despicable.

It's scary that many on the left scream that Trump will be a dictator if elected, but think how close Biden was with his vaccine mandate. That was a true dictatorial move. He was going to separate families, shut down businesses, limit movement throughout the country. That's what they wanted and almost achieved with COVID.

The fact is when I saw Fauci at a game without his mask on, I knew he was pumping snake oil at some level. If he really believed what he was pumping, he would have followed it to a tee.

The world in general handled this as poorly as possible. We weren't dealing with the 1918 Spanish flu or the plauge. We were dealing with a disease that was terrible for the vunerable.

Death rates under age 50 and not immune system compromised were nominal, under age 40 tiny, the death rates for 30 and under were infinitesimal. Once this was established then appropriate measures should have been taken to protect the vulnerable and normal life continued.

This was a report about Sweden yet their excess death rate was roughly half that of the United States.

China showed among the lowest of excess death rates, but of course we know that was a lie.

African nations that of course had very limited response to the Covid outbreak often had very low death rates.

And condidering how old the population of Florida is and the fact they opened much earlier than most states, the death rate was nominally higher than the average. With the age of their populace you would have expected much much higher.

Overall, there was an overreaction to covid, and that included me in the early stages. As time wore on and I could clearly see what did and did not work, I knew there were draconian measures that simply did not help past round one.

The irony again lost on this zero self-awareness poster is that actually it was the TDS, "Fauci is SCIENCE" crowd that were actually the most zealous in their anti-data, anti-scientific, blind loyalty to Fauci and approaching everything as black or white, "you're either with Fauci or against him!"

As you noted, the problem with Fauci was threefold:
1. He was completely dishonest with the American people
2. He did not follow data or science
3. Everything was absolute, black-and-white with no nuance
4. He is a complete narcissist and fell in love with his celebrity and could not give it up
