This is correct, 85 would be top tier in Haiti.

The average measured IQ is 68. Of course that doesn't mean they are stupid, it means culturally they
don't learn what other cultures learn, both socially and academically.

So, of course they are eating and killing ducks out of ponds.
They have no qualms about something like this.
It's just another meal to them. They have no societal issues with it like an American would.

They are also most likely killing other animals as well.

Not sure why wealthy super libs think their behavior suddenly changes when they reach
our shores.

They " the wealthy progressives" are idiots and very naive for thinking that, or disingenuous for pretending it wouldn't and doesn't happen.

Look at the Marthas Vinyard reaction to a handful to immigrants coming to their little richy enclave.

People in these exclusive enclaves don't have to worry about 3rd world immigrants. They won't put up with it, and hide behind their facade of being progresive, pretending "they really care". Sure they care if someone else is having to put up with it.

The Martha's Vinyard reactions tells you where their heart really is.

Yep, but here are our resident SicEm progressives pretending that the unfortunate misunderstood immigrants wouldn't dare do anything of the sort. Lemmings of the media.

Unless you went there and saw it happen you too are trusting the media. Lemming. The only 1st hand source I heard was a retired journalist hippy claiming all the Peking ducks have disappeared between hits on his reefer. The mayor and police dept said it wasnt.

Havent you ever eaten duck? Its tasty. Asian ducks are much better though. Ducks raised in warmer climates dont have the thick layer of fat that most ducks from America or Canada wear. In France you can buy horesmeat in the grocery store! Oh my goodness. In Ecuador guinea pigs are splayed open, gutted and broiled. The horror!!! In some parts of China, dogs are occasionally eaten during celebrations. It makes me weep.

How many progressives are there on this board? 3,4?

Why arent you talking about real problems like providing tariffs to prop up unions and incompetent car manfacturers?

Developing a good immigration. program that will benefit existing Americans and new Americans? (that boondoggle wall isnt the answer)

American drug laws that punish and imprison people with drug problems. Hint: other countries have stopped the punitive path and used the money they spent on prisons and cops and guards to rehabilitate and help addicts.

I realize the duck and cat population of Ohio probably hates me

Correction

The Mayor and Police said they had no proof

Important distinction....they never said "we 100% know its not happening and can prove it"

And why would an old Hippy liberal journalist make up stories that paint our new Haitian diversity enrichers in a bad light?

What plan do have for that?

Other than complain when someone actual tries to build a barrier to keep out the endless waves of millions of 3rd worlders pouring in each year.

A real immigration system that benefits Americans (as well as legal immigrants) would put draconian fines on any business that hired illegal labor...something that under cutting the wages of Americans and legal recent immigrants

A real immigration system would be points based and let in only those with useful skills, clean records, from friendly countries, and have a very clear path to citizenship and harsh penalties for non compliance.

And a real immigration system would have a rational number let in each year...say 400K to 500K....not millions each year.

Media making a big deal out of it like Trump is crazy and others are crazy to think it might happen, that is the issue.

Dumping 20,000 people on a medium size city of 50,000 completely changing the makeup of a city, when Marthas Vinyard won't take in a single one, I have a huge issue with that.

I wish Trump hadn't brought it up, but since he did, I can see the havoc that putting that many people into a small city has disrupted it more than many want to believe.

On Sunday, he (Govenor) appeared on ABC's "This Week" and defended the Haitian immigrants in Springfield, telling co-anchor Martha Raddatz they're in Ohio legally and praising their work ethic.
"I think it's unfortunate that this came up. Let me tell you what we do know, though. What we know is that the Haitians who are in Springfield are legal. They came to Springfield to work. Ohio is on the move, and Springfield has really made a great resurgence with a lot of companies coming in. These Haitians came in to work for these companies," DeWine said on Sunday.
"What the companies tell us is that they are very good workers. They're very happy to have them there, and frankly, that's helped the economy. Now, are there problems connected? Well, sure. When you go from a population of 58,000 and add 15,000 people onto that, you're going to have some challenges and some problems. And we're addressing those," he added.

Actually, no. Historically speaking, you got off your ass, started working and provided for yourself. If something unfortunate happened to you as you were trying to establish yourself, you might be able to rely on family, friends, neighbors, and the church to get you through.

By the way, I have identified where I am heading. One of the best things about it is that the society still works this way there and the church is strong, which tells me the future is bright. As the saying goes, all politics is downstream of culture.

Exactly. The U.S. should not provide anything for illegal immigrants except a one way ticket home. As for legal immigrants, they should not get anything big the opportunity to make something for themselves. That's the same that should be provided for citizens.

The government should not provide health care, good, housing, education, or anything other than a safe society based upon the rule of law. That kind of socialist thinking is the road to ruin and we have seen the disastrous results everywhere, even before the fascists opened our borders to terrorists, Latin American gang hangers & drug cartels, Chinese soldiers, & who knows what other scum of the earth.

The government's primary responsibility is to protect the citizens from harm & to protect their rights. That's it.

1. Is Springfield Ohio known as a great destination for Haitians? Does it have long history of Caribbean immigration? Of course not….they were sent there by NGOs, Government, or Business

2. What jobs are they doing? Springfield has suffered from decades of de-industrialization. Did dumbing the illiterate Haitians there bring back the great factory jobs?

[For years now, the not so great seems to have the upper hand. "Springfield is a rather typical small city that has grown poorer over the years," says Roger Baker, the city's mayor in the '70s and '80s.

Poorer a lot poorer. Median incomes fell an astounding 27 percent in Springfield between 1999 and 2014, more than any metropolitan area in the country, according to the Pew Research Center.

Mike Calabrese has seen it closeup. He runs Opportunities for Individual Change, a job skills program in Springfield. "Throughout the '90s we lost in Clark County, Ohio, 22,000 high-paying blue-collar jobs. We've never recovered from it."]

3. You don't live there….what evidence do you have that 20,000 people from one of the most backward lands on earth had made the city better?

The illegal aliens obviously chose to come to America, especially with the fascists opening the border, but towns like Springfield didn't choose to be overrun by thousands of people who don't speak the language and have a dramatically different culture with little chance of assimilating.

Abstract
In 2001, Portugal enacted what, for some, was a radical shift in its national drug policy, decriminalized drugs, and implemented a treatment-driven response to drug use. Empirical evaluation of the impacts of this policy "U-turn" continues and the evidence produced so far is both consistent and convincing. It seems by almost any measurement, the Portuguese experiment of drug decriminalization/treatment-driven responses, has been a resounding success. However, these empirical findings do not yet appear to have influenced national drug policy in the USA, which continue to regard decriminalization as "radical" and "extreme". Similarly disturbing is the lack of substantive contributions to this debate from nurses, especially Psychiatric/Mental Health (P/MH) nurses, which is troubling in a number of ways. Therefore what the authors do in this paper is: first, highlight Portugal's drug decriminalization policy and the evidence forthcoming from evaluations. Second, illuminate the disconcerting lack of substantive contributions to this debate that have been made by P/MH nurses. Third, examine the congruence between Humanistic approaches to P/MH nursing and many of the tenets of Libertarian thinking and policies. And then in drawing these three elements together, the authors exhort P/MH nurses to fulfill their rhetorical, macro-care role and contribute to this much-needed debate.

I don't talk to doctors or psychiatrists. These are from the ama and a pro psych journal.

Anyone can find anything to support their bias on the internet.
But you already know this.

Of course you won't talk to a health care professional on the front lines.

Your 'survival of the fittest' arrogance precludes it.

Forest B., In this program the immigrants are not dumped. Most chose it. Other were living in other places but moved there to be near relatives. The town itself advertised trying to get new workers. They were very happy to get thm. Overall the town has improved.

It's impossible that 22k people from the poorest country in the western hemisphere dumped on a town of 58k could do anything but serious harm.

It's 100% political. Biden & Kamala brought in 10 million illegals to help them steal elections and put them in deep red areas out of petty vindictiveness. They don't care about the economic, criminal, or cultural consequences because they are insulated from them. All of it is ours evil he rued they don't care shout the migrants either. They are mere pawns. Criminal & evil. And it's going to be difficult to clean up the mess the fascists have created.

And the difference on drugs is you are in favor of some and don't like others. Thats fine. It's your choice. But you want to make choices for others. Alcohol ruins many more lives and wrecks many more families than all other drugs combined. How did prohibition work?
But keep on making those that make different choices from you criminals.
we've never done it. We've never built a wall and we've never had a serious deportation program.

we deported 30k people last year. Out of an illegal population of at least 20m. Would take decades to fix the problem that way even if we did stop the flow across our border.

we have statutory quotas on annual legal migration. Biden Admin has contorted law to throw that out of the window with migrants.

we can build a wall, control the faucet that allows new-beneficial immigrants in and, provide a time period that allows those here illegally to come forward, voluntarily to show proof that they are benefiting the US (gainful employment/taxes, no criminal activity etc.) If they can't do that, then when they are pulled over on a traffic stop, arrested, whatever, they get deported. Kid at the house or in school? By not coming forward when they should have they have sentenced their own child to deportation.

If they arrived illegally but CAN show gainful employment/taxes, they need to be issued a green card, apply for extensions to the green card and eventually work their way towards citizenship ( it needs to be a more difficult path than those who entered legally. If they allow their green card to expire, deport them because they have used their one free pass.

I completely agree that deporting them all is not possible or practical.

The fair compromise is to give them a chance to make things right or to get out.

The ones we already know are violent criminals should get zero chances. DEPORT IMMEDIATELY

yes/no. Yes, there are formidable logistical barriers to "deportation." Deportation is an adversarial legal proceeding in which the defendant has the right of legal representation. We do not have the courtrooms & judges to make a dent in +20m illegals. For that matter, we don't even have the jail space to detain people pending deportation. All of those problems are workable....deputizing immigration judges, more video conferenced proceedings (already being done), and fenced encampments for detainees, etc.....we CAN make a drastic increase in the rates of deportation.

That said, the vast majority (80%) of repatriations are voluntary - people leaving because they didn't like it here and/or departing to forestall formal deportation. Most people will voluntarily leave in the face of deportation, because deportation is a permanent statutory ban on ever gaining legal status of any kind. So it's all the more important to significantly ramp up deportation processes = it will send a message we are a lot more serious and it will significantly increase voluntary departures. If we do it right, i.e. force deportation on any illegals arrested for anything, most will chose to voluntarily leave. Then, with a border wall in place, it will be far more difficult for them to return.

We CAN do orders of magnitude more than we've been doing. We just have to decide we actually want to do it.

We must be seen as making enough of an effort to deport illegals, for two reasons: 1) to deter illegal immigration itself, and 2) to convince the American people that we are attending to their clear desire to end a defacto open border policy.
