I figure Tim Walz is a decent man, caring teacher and Midwestern Dad but he is definitely not vice presidential
Ummmmmmmmmmmmm, no.

Walz is a Communist and his actions as MN Governor show he is anything but a 'decent man'.
That's a strong statement. Why do you believe he is a Communist? I admit I've not followed him nor have any interest in him. From my distance he would be disturbing if he should become President by accident.
he has significant connections to China..

I disagree. And that's why Trump loses. There's a sizable enough Republican voter who says "he'll no" to Trump because of 1/6.

You are a partisan.
You're a lawyer. How can you ignore Jan 6th? Remember these rabble rousers breaking and entering? I guarantee you if they were all ANTIFA all the MAGA would be up in arms.

nobody ignores the Jan 6 riot.. its just framed as something more than it was..

Congress leadership and the generals blocked the extra security and then blamed Trump when things got out of control. Pelosi admitted it was her fault. The generals admitted holding back security even when capital police asked.

The capital riots on Jan 6 were just that, riots.. not insurrection

That's a strong statement. Why do you believe he is a Communist? I admit I've not followed him nor have any interest in him. From my distance he would be disturbing if he should become President by accident.
Let's start with this statement:

"I have been to China dozens of times," Walz said during a 2016 congressional hearing. "I've been there about 30 times," Walz told an agriculture-focused publication the same year."

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tim-walz-said-he-went-china-dozens-times-now-his-campaign-says-its-closer-15

From the same site:

"The revision comes amid growing scrutiny from GOP critics over Walz's potential ties to the People's Republic of China and its ruling Communist Party. Earlier this month, House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., sent a letter renewing pressure on the FBI to produce documents related to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) entities or officials that Walz has purportedly engaged with in the past."

There has long been criticism of Walz's fascination with Communist China:

"As a high school teacher in the 1990s, Democratic vice presidential candidate and Minnesota governor Tim Walz appeared to extol life under Chinese communism, telling his students that it is a system in which "everyone shares" and gets free food and housing."

https://www.johnlocke.org/walz-praised-chinese-communism/

"It was an odd choice to visit China in 1989, right as the regime was crushing dissent with tanks in the infamous Tiananmen Square massacre. This did nothing to diminish Walz's admiration for Beijing. Upon his return from teaching in 1990, he told his local newspaper, "I was treated exceptionally well. There was no anti-Americanism whatsoever." He gushed that the police state had "almost no crime." While Walz allowed that the regime's massacre of students the year before was less than ideal, he concluded: "If they had the proper leadership, there are no limits on what they could accomplish. They are such kind, generous, and capable people."

He's travelled to China multiple times (bragged snout more that didn't happen). Apparently, he honeymooned there. Besides, have you heard done of his more bizarre quotes??

FWIW, one of those arrested was from my hometown and was a grade behind me. He is/was a local attorney.

Back when I was on FB regularly, some political arguments would break out between some of us who grew up there. A pretty good divide between right and left. Jimmy Carter lives in the next town over so that's kept a lot of Democrats in the area.

At some point right before or after Trump was elected, someone would occasionally chime in on a thread with some of the most vicious rhetoric towards Republicans I've ever read especially among lots of old friends. He would post under Earnest T Bass (Andy Griffith character). I was appalled. A friend who still lives in town told me who he was.

Guess who was arrested for entering the Capitol on January 6? Earnest T Bass himself. Apparently he got twisted sideways when he thought gun control might get tight.

I've always laughed when people talk about January 6 and MAGA. LOL! He is the ANTI-MAGA. Far left Democrat for most of life for sure.

100%. A lot of disagreements devolve into debating reality and the bogeymen or heroes created by the left-wing media.

- January 6 was terrible but hardly and insurrection or the greatest threat to America since the civil war
- "Christian nationalism" might have three adherents, but it hardly is a organized terroristic threat to America
- Kamala's husband is a sleaze ball and hardly the paragon of the new (non-toxic) masculinity

It is a constant struggle between reality and Democrat-created la la land.

Ignore it? All I am doing is putting it into perspective. It was not an attack on democracy. It was not worse than Pearl Harbor. It was not another 9/11.

If it was Antifa, buildings would have burned instead of grandmothers wondering through the Capitol.

Just watch what gets swept under the rug by the left after Trump wins in November.

I hear ya. It's like people have forgotten about the FBI armed raid on Biden's house after they learned he had classified documents there, or that embarrassing trial for Hillary after she had that private server handling classified mail in her basement.

Why, it's as if that Manhattan DA changed the statute of limitations to go after Trump, or rephrased the same charge 34 times, and conflated a misdemeanor into a felony by pretending Trump had violated federal law.

Of course everyone knows Democrats never accuse anyone falsely, or abuse their office to persecute political targets (cough cough, Lois Lerner, anyone?)

No 'theory' Sam, my observation is that the last dozen years have shown abundant reason to consider the Democrats likely to use any means, legal or not, ethical or not, to gain and keep power and to punish traditional American values.

Literally zero % chance

I'm sorry. But nothing has materially changed in the democrats', no ID required, ballot harvest mail in "democracy" (never mind america isn't a democracy but whatever they can't begin to understand that)

Until republicans stand up against it in office, in daily life, at work etc, is what it is
