Votes by the desc has been very popular for the Dems for about a century. It helped LBJ when a senate seat in the 1940s and it helped JFK & LBJ win in 1960. Those are well documented instances but there are plenty of others.

There's an old joke about a kid running through town shouting "My daddy's alive! My daddy's alive!"

Shopkeeper yells at him, "Boy, what's wrong with you? You know your daddy died when you were a baby and is buried in the cemetery right outside town!"

Kid shouts back, "He's alive and just voted for Lyndon Johnson!"

I wasnt around when LBJ went into the Senate, but I remember the 1960 election as a 6 year old. Dad was wondering where all those Democrat votes came from in Chicago as it was significantly more than registered voters or something like that. I remember when LBJ" ran in 1964, kids would put "down the drain with Lyndon Baine" on a piece of paper and throw in in those old trough urinals that we used to have. We would take turns having a wee on it...

[But in 1960, some irregularities in Illinois votes, specifically the ones in Chicago, prompted calls for an investigation from Republicans over then-Sen. John F. Kennedy's victory. The saga played out in the pages of the Chicago Daily News.

"Fewer than 100,000 votes out of a total of 69 million cast in the Nov. 8 election may decide whether Vice President Nixon or Sen. Kennedy is to be our nest President," William Harrison Fetridge, chairman of the Nixon Recount Committee of Illinois, told the Daily News on Dec. 5, 1960.

Fetridge name-dropped Chicago as one of the cities "where entrenched political machines control the election machinery," alleging voter fraud. A lawsuit later filed accused Cook County of digging up "Kennedy voters from the cemeteries of Chicago."

Several weeks later, on Dec. 19, 1960, the Electoral College met to cement Kennedy's win 300 electoral votes to Nixon's 223]

The dead father probably voted for JFK as well.

[arguments persist to this day about vote-counting in two states, specifically Illinois (where Kennedy won by 9,000 votes) and Texas (where Kennedy won by 46,000 votes). If Nixon had won those two states, he would have defeated Kennedy by two votes in the Electoral College.

That fact wasn't lost on Nixon's supporters, who urged the candidate to contest the results. At the time, Kennedy was also leading in the critical state of California, which was Nixon's home state. But a count of absentee ballots gave Nixon the state several weeks later, after he conceded it to Kennedy.

In Illinois, there were rampant rumors that Chicago's Mayor Richard Daley used his political machine to stuff the ballot box in Cook County. Democrats charged the GOP with similar tactics in southern Illinois. Down in Texas, there were similar claims about the influence of Kennedy's running mate, Lyndon B. Johnson, over that state's election.

On Wednesday afternoon, November 9, 1960, Nixon officially conceded the election to Kennedy. He told his friend, journalist Earl Mazo, that "our country cannot afford the agony of a constitutional crisis." (Mazo had written a series of articles about voter fraud after the 1960 election, which he stopped at Nixon's request.)
In later years, Nixon also claimed in an autobiography that widespread fraud happened in Illinois and Texas during the 1960 election.]

One of the more plausible conspiracy theories regarding the assassination of JFK is that the mob was angry: they helped stuff ballot boxes in Chicago and AG Bobby Kennedy famously went after some of the mob bosses. Also, Jack Ruby, who conveniently murdered Lee Harvey Oswald shortly after his arrest, supposedly had mob ties. I'm not sure I accept any of this, or any other conspiracy theory, but it does make some sense.

The biggest problem with conspiracy theories is the lack of evidence. If Trump keeps his promise & releases all the secret files in the assassination then there could be some big surprises.

If Trump releases all the JFK files, the biggest "surprise" will be that Oswald murdered Kennedy without help or direction from anyone else.

That's one possible outcome. But there are also lots of unanswered questions more than 60 years later. Particularly, the "magic bullet".

Jack Ruby did have several mob ties. I've found several in a book I am working on about Bennie Bickers, Warren Diamond and Ben Whitaker protege, body guard and future mob enforcer. Dropped a lot of that and ran the University Club in Dallas. More on that when the book comes out. Ties to Joe Civello who was one of the fellas in Appalachia and reported up to Carlos Marcello in New Orleans. Joe ran the Dallas mob.

Add, no one took Ruby seriously. He was more of a buffoon in the eyes of many. Very small time hood.

Doubtful on Nevada. Down a full point with 95% counted. Up half a point in Pennsylvania with 95% counted, 32,000 up, Down in Arizona 2.2 points with 74% counted. I would guess we we end up with 53 in the Senate

Against the will of Liz Cheney, Jennifer Lopez, and Democracy itself, Donald Trump has been elected the 47th President of the United States.
It's a scary and confusing time for everyone. To help you be prepared, here are twelve things you should expect to happen over the next few months:
[ol]
  • All women immediately issued their Handmaid's Tale outfits: Any woman caught not wearing one will be shot.
  • Construction begins on cages for immigrant kids, minorities, and the LGBTQ community: Minorities will be required to live in a cage for the duration of Trump's second term.
  • Tim Walz finally stops pretending to be straight: This should be a huge relief for him.
  • Ceremonial turning over of the White House Roku remote: One of the most important Presidential traditions.
  • Changing table removed from White House master bedroom: President Trump is fully capable of changing himself without any help.
  • Jan 6 becomes a federal holiday: All citizens will be required to leave out McDonald's for Trump on January 6 Eve.
  • Journalists all be required to wear dunce caps in public: As well they should.
  • Keith Olbermann is humanely euthanized: It's the compassionate thing to do.
  • Oceans heat up to 1 million degrees Celsius thanks to global warming: Kiss your loved ones goodbye.
  • RFK Jr. stops grifting for sympathy with his fake hoarse voice: That dude has been milking that for way too long.
  • All vaccines made illegal, killing everyone on the planet: Experts say this will happen within 2 days of Trump taking office.
  • You're finally able to afford eggs: Thank you, Lord!
  • [/ol]Be sure to send this list to friends and loved ones so they can prepare too.

I already gave plenty of examples, none of which have been legitimately debunked.

The Democrat Party is the most anti democracy group of people in America:
-they chose their candidate in a palace coup without giving any voters a chance to choose
-in 2020 when she actually did run, she couldn't get any votes
-for several election cycles they expanded a great deal of effort trying to remove from the ballot various candidates, even in their party, to deny the voters a choice
-all the idiotic lawfare attempts against Trump on bogus charges, with no crimes actually committed, no evidence, & blatantly rigged proceedings

If you supported Kamala, can shut up your anti-Democratic self. Besides, the US is a republic not a democracy.

Alot of stuff was wrong but this one has wheels.. ******ds full of first class mail ballots dumped into the system at a non first class mail facility and the post office wont tell anybody who paid for these to be transported by private non post office trucks and why they were delivered to non first class mail facilities

True, Sanders was completely submarined by a coordinated attack by the Dem controlled media .

Dem elites decided that although Sanders was the primary front runner, he could not beat Trump in the general election. So his campaign was cynically destroyed.

But Bernie was magically able to purchase two homes the following year..

Virtually no hope of that. Sanders is a full on socialist. I can't see too many places where he would overlap with Republicans. Maybe there are some but it really hasn't changed him much which is really a credit to him. It would have been easy to get bitter and vindictive.

I honestly do mot remember an election campaign from 40 years ago even if it was the first time I voted. Even if Reagan only ran one ad, it was one of the best ever:

He was helped by one of the best debate answers ever:

Quite possibly, that was the moment he sealed his landslide victory. The look on Mondale's face gives it away.
