How many of those additional votes were mail in ballots though? People staying home didn't prevent voting.
I think once you account for how terror stricken people were about covid, then remember how hated Trump was, along with his refusal to agree to the peaceful transfer of power, you can see why abnormal numbers of people voted. A once in a lifetime pandemic, along with 4 straight years of Trump's backwards rhetoric, is enough to get people who normally don't care about politics, to vote.
It is not hard to find factors to explain more votes last cycle. Had 20 million votes actually been manufactured, there would be evidence, and someone would have talked by now. That is a large scale fraud operation.

Jan 6 was 4 years ago. Had another election taken place Jan 7, 2021, sure these same 20 million would have voted IMO. Again, short memory. And people are tired of 4 years of crowing about Jan 6. It has lost its bite.
Trump's rhetoric was a relative unknown coming into 2016. Nobody knew how he'd act as President. Fewer people care today than in 2020, because while it is still backwards, people have gradually come to realize it is not as bad as legacy media makes it seem.
As I said, the election was a wholesale rejection of the Biden/Harris 4 years, but also a rejection of legacy media's narrative.
Many who believed the media's narrative about Trump in 2020 simply experienced the past 4 years, and are now a lot more willing to give Trump credit for his 4 year term.

You comment about COVID is totally illogical. People were very afraid in 2020. There was a ton of mail-in ballots because of COVID. 4 years later, when no one is scared to go out in public... 15+ million voters suddenly decided that voting isn't a big deal? It is FAR easier to vote in 2024, but they just decided not to vote... and you have no logical answer as to why? How is it possible for someone who has never voted before, to register and then vote in 2020... and then do nothing in 2024?

They did not vote as much in 2024 for the same reason they did not vote in 2016, 2012, 2008, etc.
These are people who normally do not vote. You zealots were never bothered by Trump's backwards rhetoric, so you have no idea how much it was thrust to the fore in social circles that don't normally care so much what politicians say.
One last thing, then I'm done educating you for today. I don't need to defend democracy. It worked great. It doesn't need me or you to believe in it to work. Every 2 years there is a massive effort by tens of thousands of Americans to give us a secure and fair election. Virtually all of them said the election was secure and fair. Guess who the only people with an issue were? The guy who lost and a ton of lawyers who made money off the lawsuits.
Honestly it is straight up disgusting to me, how concerted the effort is to undermine democracy. You have every single case shut down, no real evidence after 4 years, lawyers who were working for Trump saying "don't sue us, we were joking," lawyers in the courtroom admitting they brought cases without any evidence, not a single person in the supposed 20 million ballot manufacturing plant peeping 1 peep.... All facts are against you, and this election your same guy wins handily... Did they forget to staff the ballot manufacturing plant? Union put a hiring freeze on?
At some point it is abundantly clear that no fact, reasoned, or logical argument will get through, for one reason. You like dear leader care more about winning than America.
