That reminds me of when Hillary Clinton went on the campaign trail to Harlem and saw how average Americans live....the horror!!!

Especially since I'm sure someone had to remind her that room is used to prepare meals by people who don't have private chefs.

What is woke to the guys on the right? Do you have a definition?
My definition woke is to be aware of the the historical forces that shape person outlook. Simply put it might be to walk in the shoes of another defined out how they experience the world.

Woke is being more concerned about warm-fuzzies and appearances rather than true results and reality.

I would describe you as woke.

wokeness is not warm, fuzzies and appearances, but the acknowledgment that other people have different historical backgrounds and we were aware of it culturally and socially. Wokeness is walking a mile in somebody else's shoe. WokeNess is empathy. He will put up a strawman and attacked it, that is warm, fuzzies, and appearances. That's your strawman.
You don't get to twist it into something that it's not. Let want people defined themselves. It's not your job to defend them.

Let's use a word of your choosing "empathy".

Empathy-the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

Ya, lots of results-based actions in those feelings.

fuzzies

Huh? What are you talking about? Results based action? Jesus empathy, let him in the action to teach him to heal. He started with empathy. Never did say that. Warm fuzzies, wokeness, empathy, and compassion should lead to action. I never denied that.

While all those are outstanding ministries and contributions of non-profits. "Warm fuzzies" for suffering human beings drive their compassion.

But three considerations for your comments:
1. One is the overall organization of so many agencies - local and state governments, and the various non-profits. The Federal government is best suited because they have experience and numbers.
2. FEMA is there for the long haul, whereas, for example, the Texas Baptist Men will be on their home soon.
3. Economy of scale. - the Federal government has massive resources.

My definition woke is to be aware of the the historical forces that shape person outlook. Simply put it might be to walk in the shoes of another defined out how they experience the world.

The name of the single historical and eternal force that shapes my outlook in every aspect is Jesus Christ, who dwells in me, despite my complete lack of merit.

Do you think Jesus was woke to the historical forces that affected the people who came to him.

Jesus did the will of His Father.

He knew everything and knew everybody, He became God in the flesh.

Nothing whatsoever to do with being woke. This is an assertion without any reasoning as to why it is true
He IS God.
and God is compassionate. The great I am is compassion, see how God acts in this world.

The will of the Father is love and compassion.
So we have compassion and empathy for suffering people (wokeness) like Jesus: Jesus is God's Son and therefore participates in God's isness that isness to compassion and love.
Matthew 20:34 [sup] [/sup]Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately, they received their sight.
Or like Matthew 14:14
[sup]14 [/sup]When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
Luke 7: 13 When the Lord saw her, he was moved with compassion for her and said to her, "Do not cry."

Hey 47, I didn't read what you said since it might clutter my clear minded train of thought, but even using your definition of woke, how could the God of the Universe become woke, when the fact is he has all knowledge and does not change.

To be woke per your definition, is to be awakened to something or social situation you didn't understand before.

God who does not change even to the point of no variation or shadow of turning, and has perfect knowledge of all things, cannot be "woke" because it would infer he was someone without some knowledge at some point.

Anyway I know you won't get it, or simply refuse to get it, but there you go.

She (he?) is a moron. Of course blacks can be racist. They are just as human as the rest of us and just as capable of anything the rest of us are, both good and bad. That's what "All men created equal" means in the Declaration of Independence.

Or is that a man in a wig?

Give Piers credit for standing up to such stupidity. Of course he immediately made it about him!

No sorry but he is not. As I said before he would not stand for people living in sin. He would tell them to repent and end their evil ways, just as he did to all sinners in his time.

Of course, Jesus calls us to repentance, but Jesus does not call to repent of being "woke." That idea is nonsense. Jesus calls us to be woke.
"Biblical accounts demonstrate Jesus' consistent concern for the outcasts of his time, such as the poor, the sick, and those considered unclean or sinful by society. He extended love and compassion to those typically shunned, like the Samaritan woman and the woman caught in adultery. His ministry involved healing, teaching, and restoring the dignity of those who were marginalized, proclaiming good news to the poor, and setting the oppressed free. This aligns with a core tenet of "wokeness" recognizing the humanity of all people," Author unknown, but the statement is true.

Are the poor living in sin? The oppressed? The crowd that was hungry at the seaside after Jesus was teaching? The Syrophoenician woman? The woman bleeding for 12 years? The man with a withered hand? The Samaritan leper? The child who dead and Jesus raised? Exactly which one of these needed to repent before Jesus was "woke" to their humanity?

Sorry, forrest it is your job to defend your faith; otherwise, you are a fake Christian unable to study your own soul about Jesus and Jesus' wokeness. It's sad that you simply leave the field without debate, but in your prayers tonight God may ask you, "Did Jesus, Son, consistently demonstrate compassion for the suffering, the sick, and the poor, often prioritizing them in his ministry?"

It appears to me that you are putting political ideology before scripture and theology, and you can't admit it.

1) I wasn't lecturing you about repentence.

2) You want to debate absolutes, you want to deconstruct certainty.

3) I have no use in debating someone who is simply trying to deconstruct, the
holiness, omnipotence, purity and perfection of God almighty.

4) Again, I have told you who Jesus is, so far beyond some make believe moniker as such as woke.

His compassion for us is perfect, nothing to do with modern progressives false definitions.

Of course Jesus has compassion for the sick, the poor the downtrodden.

You must really understand how right I am to become so offended, Jesus is so very far beyond
the tiny box you are trying to paint him into. It is an offense to you, as the Bible has proclaimed it will be an offense to many.

Jesus called people to repent of all sin. Naturally he didn't use the term "woke", or the Aramaic equivalent, because that's a very modern term. The only way being woke is not a sin is if it's some warm & fuzzy, benign thing. But that's not what it is. The way it's most often used is an agglomeration of everything the Left loves: racism in a mythological fight against fake racism, misogyny in the trans cult, lies & fraud for the climate cult, open borders, glorification of criminals while punishing the innocent, the raw & often grotesque abuse of power, and so on. All of it is sin. It's based upon lies, arrogance, exploitation, and injustice. These are part of the seven deadly sins in Proverbs 6.

When Jesus called people to repent, He was telling them to turn away from their evil ways. It's the only hope anyone has. There is no other way except through Him.

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6
