) I wasn't lecturing you about repentance. Thank you

2) You want to debate absolutes, you want to deconstruct certainty. Yes, I want to deconstruct the certainties of an old theism

3) I have no use in debating someone who is simply trying to deconstruct. the
holiness, omnipotence, purity and perfection of God Almighty. Again, yes I am deconstructing the omnipotence and perfection of God Almighty, but not God's holiness or purity. These last two are separate philosophical attributes of God. God is holy in love and purity.
I am denying the omnipotence of God in conjunction with the love and grace of God. These two concepts cannot hold together.

4) Again, I have told you who Jesus is, so far beyond some make-believe moniker such as woke. You told me but that is different than offering your reasoning (which you did not).

His compassion for us is perfect, nothing to do with modern progressives' false definitions. I offer no false definitions of Jesus' compassion. I offered scriptural witness to Jesus' compassion. You are arguing with the scriptural witness of Jesus' compassion. I am not sure why.

Of course Jesus has compassion for the sick, the poor the downtrodden.

You must really understand how right I am to become so offended. Jesus is so very far beyond
the tiny box you are trying to paint him into. It is an offense to you, as the Bible has proclaimed it will be an offense to many.
Forest, if I understand you correctly, then you are offended by what appears to you to be my placing Jesus in a tiny box. Is that correct?
If so, then how can you be offended by Scriptural witness of the gospels to Jesus' "wokeness." Wokeness, as we progressives define it to be aware of the people of the Gospels and how Jesus is aware and "woke" to their being outcasts.
For example, the 10 lepers, of whom only one returns, and he is a Samaritan to boot. Samaritans were hated by the Jews. Listen to Luke 17: 17 Jesus asked, "Were not ten made clean? So where are the other nine? 18 Did none of them return to give glory to God except this foreigner?" Jesus was aware of or woke to his foreignness, yet he healed him; others, however, would reject him because of his foreignness.
So too, progressives are simply asking people to be aware of people's differences and to show compassion in spite of those differences. Progressives believe that whom others reject for their differences still show compassion.

Jesus is woke and you guys cannot stand it.

No sorry but he is not. As I said before he would not stand for people living in sin. He would tell them to repent and end their evil ways, just as he did to all sinners in his time.

Of course, Jesus calls us to repentance, but Jesus does not call to repent of being "woke." That idea is nonsense. Jesus calls us to be woke.
"Biblical accounts demonstrate Jesus' consistent concern for the outcasts of his time, such as the poor, the sick, and those considered unclean or sinful by society. He extended love and compassion to those typically shunned, like the Samaritan woman and the woman caught in adultery. His ministry involved healing, teaching, and restoring the dignity of those who were marginalized, proclaiming good news to the poor, and setting the oppressed free. This aligns with a core tenet of "wokeness" recognizing the humanity of all people," Author unknown, but the statement is true.

Jesus called people to repent of all sin. Naturally he didn't use the term "woke", or the Aramaic equivalent, because that's a very modern term. The only way being woke is not a sin is if it's some warm & fuzzy, benign thing. But that's not what it is. The way it's most often used is an agglomeration of everything the Left loves: ('these are your strawmen and not what progressives believe) racism in a mythological fight against fake racism, misogyny in the trans cult, lies & fraud for the climate cult, open borders, glorification of criminals while punishing the innocent, the raw & often grotesque abuse of power, and so on. All of it is sin. It's based upon lies, arrogance, exploitation, and injustice. These are part of the seven deadly sins in Proverbs 6.

When Jesus called people to repent, He was telling them to turn away from their evil ways. It's the only hope anyone has. There is no other way except through Him.

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6

Of course, sinners need to repent in order to enter the fullness of Christ's love. This progressive believes in wokeness and repentance. You are battering a strawman quite well, I might add, but too bad your strawmen wrongly characterize the "Left".

Wokeness is quite simply "being aware of the differences of people and still showing compassion" nothing more.

Psalm 69: In the aftermath of the Hill Country Floods, the Psalmist speaks of our pain, anguish, and overwhelming grief in which we offer our lives and souls before God and ask, "Why?'
Our theology rests on that question.
Our soul's question:
"If God is God, God is not good,
If God is good, He is not God." (Archibald McLeish, J.B.)
Right now, with the days of the floods receding, dare we speak of our faith? Faith for some recedes with the waters
What shall we do with a concept of a god that God is all-powerful and wants good for humankind?
The Sunday School answer of our early faith journeys does not hold in the face of the actualities of physics, which sweeps away trees and children alike.
So now we sit in our anger toward God. However, that "God" of our early Sunday School and small group.
We can no longer accept, "God has mysterious ways." That concept means we end up hating that god.
In the days ahead, I would like to speak of a different theology about God, but for now, tragedy, anger, grief, and anguish seem like water up to our necks.. Be at peace with your feelings.
At some point in your shaken faith in God, I hope to offer a different theology of God. The overwhelming scriptural witness is "God is love." That witness is the lens of our faith. I hope to show you a way of looking at the god of your youth differently. This view shakes our beliefs upside down (not our faith, but our belief)
In the meantime, Psalm 69: 1-3
1 Save me, O God,
for the waters have come up to my neck.
2 I sink in deep mire,
where there is no foothold;
I have come into deep waters,
and the flood sweeps over me.
3 I am weary of my crying;
my throat is parched.
My eyes grow dim
Waiting for my God.
P.S. I use the lower-case god intentionally because it is a belief and not the actuality of God. I believe in God's reality, not simply God's existence. I live in the reality that God acts in my personal story.

Wokeness & repentance are incompatible. Wokeness is all about arrogance, bigotry, & a host of other sins. Repentance is defined as turning away from sin and must be done in humility. They are opposites.

No it isn't. I wish republicans would figure out that people love "free" *****

You think the public (that HATES the hospital system and the insurance companies) think someone paying their medical debt for them is a losing platform?

The "you know this isn't actually free" crowd will just get shouted down. This is a HUGE win for Democrats and when republicans start campaigning on "that wasn't free, taxpayers paid for that" it will just make them look heartless.

I think more people realize the fact that socialism is evil than you think. I certainly hope so. This country has no hope if the people fall for the Leftist lies.

This illustrates how important it is that people learn about history and economics. Leftist educators have trouble honestly defining "woman".

Agree. But if those of us who understand that capitalism is superior to socialism aren't willing to limit its excesses (monopoly, oligipoly, and fraud) then it puts people in a place where they give the socialists a hearing.
historian
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Excellent point. Technically, though, those excesses are deviations from capitalism. Capitalism works best when people have freedom to make economic choices. It is skewed when bad actors try to manipulate it for their personal advantage through monopolies, etc.

Government's only role in the economy, other than protecting society from threats, foreign & domestic, is to make sure everyone operates on a level playing field.

Boy are these teams bad. An average Texas 5A team would demolish them.

While I think you are right about the above I think this will be received about the same way as college loan forgiveness is. Those with debt love it. Those about to take on debt love it. Those that have paid off the debt (both parties) tend to be upset by it and want to know "where is theirs?" And won't support it because it doesn't help them.
