It is quite shocking how many of the Democratic positions of today cannot stand up to literally any scrutiny. Simple direct questions cause them to crumble. It was the dems who coined the phrase "trust the science" but on quite a few issues they seem to be completely ignoring the science.

I think this is why Trump won. More moderate democrats who haven't lost their minds simply couldn't back some of the more far left positions and voted republican or abstained altogether.

When the senior leadership of the democratic party ceded power and/or influence to people like AOC and Ilhan Omar inside their own party due to their flash in the pan popularity, they lost control of the narrative and things have slipped further and further left. I honestly don't believe the majority of democrats believe this stuff but there is a very vocal minority both inside their party and in their voter base that is now leading the charge and they don't seem to be showing much progress wresting control back from the lunatic fringe, even after a fairly embarrassing defeat in the last primary cycle.

Probably true. But there still are millions of people willing to vote for the dangerous insanity. Even if you discount a sizable number to continued fraud (very likely in blue states since they have had few real reforms), it's a huge number.
To be honest, the fascists (aka "Democrat Party") is looking more and more like a criminal or terrorist organization these days.

Right now most are just voting against Trump and anyone who supports him/ that he endorses. Once he leaves I would bet many Dems will start to vote against other Dems.

I wish this were true, but I think the track record is against this line of thinking. They said horrible things about GWB. They said horrible things about McCain who was known for being a centrist. They said horrible things about Romney who is considered a rhino in his own party and is a bland human being. They certainly ramped things up for Trump, but the Dem playbook has always been to demonize your opponent. They'll spend the next two cycles doing the same thing while also citing the candidates Trump ties to provide cover. Once Trump is far in the rearview and no longer good fodder, they'll have moved on to some other person with an R by their name they have deemed the latest Hitlerian figure.

True but I think there will be a small split in their part between those who support the crazy stances and those who are more reasoned.

You could argue that modeling is the one area that inclusivity actually makes some sense. Models as aspirational figures is awesome but models are there to sell clothes.

My wife actually fits the VS model mold well, her sister doesn't. VS needs to sell to both of them because there are far fewer women that look like my wife than her sister.

Showing a size 8 that she can look great and these clothes don't only look good on a size 0 does, actually, make some sense.

Trying to sell clothes only to thin women is a losing business proposition in this country because there are fewer and fewer of those by the day.

Yup. Just like the ATT girl. She complained about it and hid in ads for years and then all of a sudden decided to do an only fans type thing but for "charity"

Good point. But to be fair for most of modeling history those women have been skinnier than even the average skinny girl/woman. I never minded when they started adding in other models that were not a size 0 but maybe a 2-5. It was when they started trying to get the women that were 200-300 pounds or more that was too much. That isn't even healthy.

I agree it isn't healthy but a clothing company is trying to sell clothes not health food. It's the job of their marketing dept to show that their clothes "make you look good".

The average American woman is a size 16-18 these days. The average height for an American woman is 5'4" and the average weight is 170-180lbs.

A size 2-6 was never average or near average. It was always quite small but it's really small these days. Most models are 24-26" waist but also between 5'9" and 6'0". Those girls you thought were a size 2-6 were probably more like a size 8-10.

Virtually no women in this country are 5'10" and a size 0. So while I don't think promoting unhealthy living is a good thing a model reflecting what average women look like does make some sense. Even if it's not flattering to look at.

True but maybe I didn't explain what I meant well.

I don't find most models to be attractive. They are too skinny and anorexic looking to me. I don't want to see 300-400 pound models that have to roll from side to side just to walk.

But I do find women with curves and a healthy amount of meat on their bones attractive.

But most models, or even actresses, are like a straw. No curves. Pretty faces. Maybe big jugs but no curves to grab onto. Like Sydney Sweeney. Pretty face and big jugs. But no curves. Give me one with curves any day. That is the type of mode I would want to see.

Absolutely. When they put a huge girl singing and dancing for Jardiane, then everyone looks at the screen and says "Yeah, I can be fat and unhealthy too! It's okay."

Just so we are clear Sidney Sweeney is probably between a size 6-8. She's 5'3" - 120ish with a 30" waist.

Shes lost some weight but curvier than that and you're probably talking a size 12-14. I would wager she's a size 10 in this picture.

Back in the early 90s was amazed to learn that major label manufacturers for designer brands usually had lesser known subsidiaries that made "substantially similar labels" for:

1) knock offs
2) label replacement (if damaged)
3) owner use to replace non-designer piece labels with designer labels, and
4) size changes (point of post……women with size 8 clothes replacing with size 4 tags, etc.)

Remember this gem:

The OK hand sign has been added to a list of hate symbols.
The finger-and-thumb gesture - which is also a popular emoji - is being used by some as a "sincere expression of white supremacy", according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
But the US anti-hate group says the "overwhelming usage" of the hand gesture today is still to show approval or that someone is OK.
Therefore "particular care must be taken not to jump to conclusions about the intent behind someone who has used the gesture".

I remember that. And how quickly it died because no one thought of it as a racist gesture. Like a lot of the things that suddenly are pushed as "racist" it wasn't and people knew that. Even the majority of extreme lefties realize half the stuff they al racist isn't which is why they don't keep pushing it once no one jumps on their bandwagon.

My buddy Burton gave that OK sign in a photo when we were interviewing. Had to school a couple of folk that went with that train of thought. I had never heard of that before
