If an American worker is getting say $13 an hour and then minimum wage is then increased to $16 an hour, then companies might try to use more illegals. In this scenario, the American worker can no longer have that job for the $13 an hour they were getting. With the bump in minimum wage, they could only stay for $16 an hour. If companies then try to get illegals at $13, Americans are forced out due to the higher minimum wage.

Large companies (in general) aren't hiring illegals. It's not good business practice, it's an HR nightmare, it's an OSHA problem and the list goes on and on.

If he does that, he probably assumed she keeps proper records and pays her taxes legally. The responsibility is on her and he does not concern himself with all the paperwork. To be honest, I don't really blame anyone who takes that approach. If you only hire 1-2 people for house work, yard work, etc it makes sense to avoid a huge bureaucratic hassle. Ultimately, it's up to each individual to pay their taxes so such an employer has every incentive to let them. I doubt the law requires it.

Then BuBear's web page, then Jason and Eric's BaylorFans and now the boys behind this page, a great group of guys. I just stopped politics for 6 years, and thank God for that. my documentation is that I have a culinary degree and know people in most kitchens in Dallas from Bar and Grill types to fancy pants. mostly the line cooks are Latino (mostly undocumnnted, except for chain restos. You really only get fully documented apprentices (all colors) in Michelin Stared Restos. They can pay those folks when a table of 4 is $1500 and up. I'm also in the biz. I'm a partner in a local brewery in Dallas , so I think I have a really good feel for this issue.
