Most fathers would pardon their kid, and most politicians would lie about it. Not surprising. Of course it is wrong, but Trump pardoned some bad guys too. Including family.

Lying about it is the worst part, but you zealots are pretending like all the sudden, it is just so shocking Joe Biden tell a lie. You guys love to be outraged. Instant dopamine hit.

This sets a terrible precedent.

Yes, Presidents pardon some bad people but I don't recall a president pardoning his own son from 10 years of criminal activity.

Though I suppose Ted Kennedy did kill a woman and Democrats never seemed to care much about that so.

If we take the President part out of the equation it's also terrible parenting to never make your kids take responsibility for their own actions.

So I don't care much but if any of us were facing federal gun charges we would be saying goodbye to our friends and family for a while.

You cannot be surprised when the average person is jaded by the political process. There are thousands and thousands of people in prison for way less than Hunter Biden and they will spend a long time there while he gets a pardon for the last 10 YEARS of criminal activity.

You also can't be surprised when the conspiracy nut jobs have this kind of ammunition. It absolutely looks like he is getting pardoned for things that could come back to Joe.

This is an awful look and no one but the most partisan hacks can defend it. In fact, I would go so far as to say if you're defending it you're probably someone no one should listen to.
Joe was pardoning himself...just had to roll his accomplice into that for it to stand.

Mary Jo Kopechne was pregnant, probably with Ted's child. He killed two people.

Thats unfortunate.

Jefferson was a physical coward, serial rapist and world class narcissist.

Easily the most overrated president and worst Virginia governor of all time.

It's not shocking that he would tell a lie, it's just hilarious when he gets caught and you little lefties aren't given an official lie to regurgitate to try and save face. The desperation in your own post to try and deflect from just how corrupt this move was and what it confirms only adds to the hilarity.

There is no deflection, you arejust so used to your own deflections that you attempt to project that onto my post.

I'm saying he has lied so much that this should not be shocking. It is absolutely corrupt, but corruption is normal for politicians. It is normal. I am not normalizing corruption in politics, politicians did that before I was born.

Oh it is awful, but it is also normal. Trump pardoned a family member that hired a prostitute to sleep with his brother-in-law, then blackmailed him. Pretty clear that should be wrong, but Trump decided he shouldn't have to face the justice system for tax evasion and witness tampering.

Bill Clinton pardoned his brother. The list goes on.

It was simply predictable, unless this forum really is full of Biden lovers who thought once he promised to not pardon his son, that was that.

A blanket pardon spanning 11 years for unspecified crimes that fit perfectly into the timeframe of allegations against Joe...
This is not the same as previous pardons. Not even close. "Bububut TRUMP!!!" does not change anything.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?

There's a ton to be said on the Hunter pardon, but for now:

The real worrisome part about the undeniable fact that the First Family (not just Hunter!) was so flamboyantly corrupt was that the entirety of the government legal and intelligence apparatus worked overtime to let it go. And they did it for a very long time and turned themselves into pretzels to keep doing it again.

All while doing the exact opposite on contrived and sometimes legitimately insane plots against Trump and those who supported him.

Major systems level damage was done to the integrity of the whole system. So many will want to move on to the next thing but if not addressed, we are in a world of long term trouble.

The Bidens clearly belong in the history books as an asterisked blight, but the story is so much bigger than just them. When they exit it doesn't just get resolved naturally.

Oh but it is the same. Convicted murderers have been pardoned at the state and federal level. So far only allegations have been made against Joe, nothing proven, after years of investigations.

You zealots are so outraged, which is fine, but falsely equate your level of outrage with the level of corruption the pardon shows. That is the silliness I am pointing out. Had any of you participated in the thread I did 4 years ago, when about 3 of us complained about Trump's pardons, I'd be more sympathetic.

But I shouldn't complain much, I should brace myself for more silly zealous outrage from you, because more pardons are surely in the immediate future.

I of course cannot speak for everyone, but I think a lot of the reaction is not necessarily directed at the act itself but more then constant disinformation by the left-wing media that Joe Biden is the most honest, non-corruptible, "normal" force in U.S. history and that Trump is a serial liar that IS A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!

Biden's corruption is just so brazen and was so ignored by the left-wing media it feels like we're in a bad movie. Remember, we went from Biden (and his media talking heads) telling us Hunter's laptop was fake and this was all normal, no corruption to Biden issuing a laughably long pardon that excuses all kinds of potential crimes. While I am not an expert, pretty sure it is unprecedented to issue a pardon for crimes that have not even been prosecuted.

In what court would the evidence be presented? There is a lot of evidence that corruption existed, so much so that it takes a lot of imagination to deny it happened. However, there has been no place to present the evidence except through Congressional meetings and media outlets. A Democrat Senate led by Chuck Schumer would never have allowed an impeachment proceeding.

I don't know about the left wing media, however , the fact that Biden repeatedly said he would not pardon hunter is a big stain on Biden and his presidency. The big difference I see here is that yes, Trump trough out pardons like Girl Scout cookies. He did pardon a few people (Charles Kushner) for starters, but the big difference is Kushner served his time. I don't care about hunter's gun charge, but the tax charges are a big ass problem. If that was us, we'd be in jail.

I'm way more concerned with the previous ten years and all the crimes we don't even know about that just got pardoned.

You know they're there, otherwise he wouldn't have gone back to 2014.

People are forgetting the sequence of events:

- Biden's DOJ let virtually all of the actual, serious charges expire under the statute of limitations by dragging its feet
- Biden's DOJ crafted a sweetheart deal to get Hunter virtually off on the tax and gun charge
- The judge called the DOJ out for its corruption
- The two whistleblowers at the IRS forced the DOJ's hand to pretend to sort of prosecute him

Crazy Joe was right - the only reason he was prosecuted in this manner is because his last name was Biden. If it has been one of us, we would be in prison for a long time for myriad more crimes.

Biden effectively was pardoning the Biden Crime Family - he did not want anyone to potentially get to Hunter, where he might flip on the others. It is well documented that Hunter is fed up with being the BCF bag man.

I know Hunter's laptop is a real watershed moment for you zealots, a real gotcha, but I am near certain I did not comment or pay attention to it until it was proven real. I do not read the traditional media outlets, so I did not know anything about it one way or the other, just that a pawn shop owner said he had it, I think that was it.. And if you follow posters on the forum, you will in time realize that I am right of center, just not as right as the typical zealot. To the typical zealot, that means raging lib, partisan hack, but to anyone else, centrist.

I don't know if it's a watershed moment but it's a huge issue.

You have a piece of equipment that has very real, very problematic information on it. Yeah that's damning but it's not really that huge imo though it would have impacted the election, maybe.

You then have a coordinated response from the intelligence agencies calling it Russian disinformation which, as it turns out, was false.

You then have the press coordinating 24 hour coverage of how this isn't real and Russia, Russia, Russia.

You then have social media companies deplatforming people for, what it turned out, was entirely correct information and they were clearly colluding with the intel agencies and, in at least some small way, the White House to actively sensor information from the public.

The laptop, in and of itself, isn't really that big of a deal imo. Everything that happened after is a much, much bigger story.

The control exerted over social media companies by the White House is probably the biggest scandal in history. It's a much bigger issue than failing audits, it's a bigger issue that Watergate and personally I think you would be hard pressed to find a bigger issue in our history.

The fact that it wasn't the lead story on every news agency for months is an indictment of our press.

It's like they didn't realize if the government can silence anyone they want, for any reason, then they may silence you.

All good points - and the fact that porto was not railing against all of that stuff, shows his true colors.

"Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak."

I personally think it was big pharma and covid... forced jab, lockdowns, denial of IVM and government getting into the doctor's office and throwing everything at the doctor to prevent them from prescribing off label treatments...
They did everything in their power to 'sell at the US Taxpayer's expense' hundreds of millions of dollars of the jab.

Their attack on the first amendment during Hunter's laptop scandal is basically the same thing...

In both cases, they attacked anyone and everyone on social media that went against the liberal criminal narrative. They blocked or hid anything counter to their money making lies.

COVID was a massive world heath scare where more and more information came in at various rates from various places. I don't like some of the outcomes but I find it hard to fault people who I think *mostly* were trying to do the right thing. I agree it became very political at the end for sure.

This was known to be real very quickly, coordinated multiple agencies and the press to hide a story, condemn it as Russian disinformation further straining that relationship, casting doubt on the American democratic process and then quashed all discussion about its legitimacy. It's as close to totalitarian as you can get. It's not even something most people think could even happen in this country.

Taking out the 2 phrases, this is exactly how I feel about covid as well. Covid was real - no one says it wasn't. I'm strictly talking about the reaction to it. Were some parties concerned about health and people's lives? No doubt. I'd say far more than people gaming the system to make hundreds of millions.

But the totalitarians in charge were certainly not going to 'let this crisis go to waste.'

And for the Biden Laptop stuff - I felt like I was in 3rd world Venezuela or something. I could not believe that was going on. I got into it with my old high school English teacher who swore it was Russia disinformation. We haven't spoken to each other since (that's primarily because I deleted all social media accounts, but whatever.)

From what I know of you, you are pro big Brother, pro big pharma, and pro
deep state institutions.
You're more concerned with clerical crimes of Trump, than you are
Treasonous crimes of the left.

I'm not gonna go dig through your posts from a couple of years back to prove a point either way. Just thought you might be able to provide something quickly as you know your posts and your stances better than anyone.
Then you're welcome. I did. And I'm not going to dig through my posts. I am the one that posted them. Right or wrong, I will simply consult my memory.

The censorship at the behest of the state is the only thing that truly concerns me. It is a major reason I could not vote for Harris. She clearly believed that social media users should be censored when posting information the White House deemed incorrect or misleading. Anyone involved with Biden's Truth Ministry is excluded from Porter's further political consideration, forever. I've been extremely consistent when it comes to promoting individual freedoms.

Well then welcome, fellow zealot! If you care about corrupt government collusion with Big Tech and Big Pharma, and if you care about exposing the perpetrators, then I have it on good authority that you are a zealot like the rest of us.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?

TBH I think Trump would have been smart to pardon Hunter. Would have accomplished the same thing but looked a million times better. No way that couldn't have been part of some deal.

"You do X and I'll do Y and we will promise not to spend time even looking at Z"

Huge miss from both parties.

Not sure that its a miss for Conservatives as it couldnt have happened without Biden backtracking in the first place. It's more of a "This is what's been happening for the past four years. Did you expect anything to change?"

On the other hand, I thought they might have worked out something also. Maybe Biden suggested it, and Trump told him to F OFF!

curious what your issues are with big tech and big pharmaceutical companies? Just curious. The biggest offender in my view are Big Insurance (lack thereof)
