When I took Legal Ethics we had an insurance defense attorney speak (back when Worker's Comp was still a thing) and he sheepishly talked about deny delay depose, that his job was to minimize losses for the carrier and that every day of missed work was a better chance of a smaller settlement.
All of which is to say these issues are not new and people are pissed. And violence is still not the answer.
