Love Pope Francis, but Europe (and the world in general) needs a strong conservative Pope right now

Why? I'm not Catholic but I don't understand how any practicing catholic could be ok with his tenure.
Pope Francis is generally considered a progressive or liberal figure within the Catholic Church, particularly for his emphasis on social justice, inclusion, and climate change. He has also been praised for his outreach to LGBTQ+ individuals and his criticism of capitalism.

Yeah…he's directly in defiance of church doctrine on multiple issues. I'm sure the "everyone really goes to heaven" church crowd loves the guy. The "I go to church on Easter and Christmas" set are probably huge fans of
Also the small subset of Christians who mistakenly believe that Christ wanted us to minister to the poor and to the outcasts.

What? You saying the guy before him didn't believe that?

You can't believe that and also be in line with church doctrine?
I didn't say or imply anything about his predecessor. I didn't say anything about church doctrine.

I did say that Francis seemed to have priorities that included the poor and outcasts. I hold the view that many conservative Christians do not share those priorities. As evidence I would cite this forum with its unending demonization of immigrants and LGBTQ people.
Incorrect. Almost every single person here supports immigrants. LEGAL immigrants, not the crime wave of folks that Biden ushered in.

BS. First, "legal immigration" includes asylum and residency while awaiting the results of deportation heaings. Second, "legal immigtation" includes birthright citizenship. Third, demonization occurs when you impugn the motives of a group of people who seek a better life for their families and themselves whether they do it legally or not based on a small fraction who intend harm. You can be compassionate and still be strict, somnething this group is not good at.

Also note you only addressed half the equation.
Birthright citizenship is currently being challenged. We have been too frivolous with "asylum and residency" due to the Biden, 'take everyone at all costs' thinking. It's the left's woke brainwashing by the folks manipulating Biden, the One World Order of Soros and Open Society. That One World Order means no borders, no national currency, everything manipulated by one group. You can currently see how that failed miserably in Europe with the EU. We DO NOT want what happened to Europe to happen here.
You are the one that put "legal" in caps. Then you explain how legal doesn't mean the actual law. LOL.
The law has been abused. Massively. Surely you must agree to the abuse by the left

And the amount to ILLEGALS (cap'd just for you) is overwhelming nearly every part of the country

You do not abuse the law by following it. Nobody is being overwhelmed.

If you have a serious explanation, make it with evidence and logic. Otherwise go yell and the boys on your lawn..

Back to the main point-do not demonize people you do not know. Have compasssion for them instead.

As for demonizing people, the far left has demonized the people of the United States. Boys in girls locker rooms, trans men winning women's races and boxing women into oblivion, siding with terrorist gangs over the population of the USA, crowd funding black 17-year-olds that stabbed a white 17-year-old in the heart, 15 million illegally in our country overwhelming just about every system we have, liberal judges stopping the President from fixing what Biden brok... -and the list is endless. Evidence and logic. Add that common sense is also important.

Unlikely. The fact that they're undocumented doesn't explain the kind of animosity that wants to deny due process to a whole class of people. It doesn't explain opposing reforms that would open paths to citizenship and make legal immigration easier. It doesn't explain wanting to deport every illegal immigrant without exception, which makes no economic sense.

Illegals aliens do not have full due process rights. They do not deserve them and as a practical matter, it is impossible to provide it. Those who want this for the 10-20 million illegals in the US are probably completely ignorant of the realities of the situation and that's the most generous conclusion one can draw. The alternative is far more evil: they hate America and want to see its destruction. They are enemies of this country and traitors.

Here is a somewhat detailed explanation:

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2025/04/jd_vance_says_what_needs_to_be_said_about_illegal_aliens_and_due_process.html
semantics point (alluded to in the article) re your comment in bold.

EVERYONE under the jurisdiction of US courts has full due process rights, except for aliens on matters of immigration.

If an alien, legal or not, is arrested for (insert crime here), he/she will get the same constitutional protections an Amcit does. The operative concept is....our Constitution presumes that rights extends to all human beings, but we can only enforce that where our courts have jurisdiction. (that's a test question on the consular commission exam....)

Your statement in bold is correct when it comes to matters of visitors visas and immigrant visas and Green Cards. Those judgements are executive branch functions, which is why there are "immigration judges" in the DOJ who adjudicate immigration matters (as opposed to US District courts in the Judiciary). Many of the determinations on non-immigrant visas and even refugee status are not reviewable. No applicant in a US Embassy abroad has any rights of appeal whatsoever should their visa request be denied. Typically, their own recourse would be for an employer or family member to make supplication to relevant Congressional representation.

All that said, most countries would simply deport an illegal alien, rather than spend the money on a prosecution or on incarceration. That presumes, of course, that your border security is sufficient to stop an illegal re-entry.

Our border security isn't the reason 10-20 million illegals entered the US under Biden. It was a fake president who refused to enforce the law and actually brought them in.

As a practical matter, it's impossible to provide deportation hearings to millions of illegals. There are far too many, as Trump has pointed out. At some point, someone in Washington must realize that mass deportations must begin immediately and due process cannot be allowed to interfere. Maybe Trump should surprise habeus corpus for all illegals. I'm not sure what the best solution is but something must bd find. At least Trump, et al are doing something and achieving results.

The constitution is not a suicide pact: We cannot allow traitorous judges to destroy our nation by facilitating an invasion by fake president Biden (aiding and abetting our enemies).

Biden Didn't Cause the Border Crisis, Part 1: Summary
By David J. Bier

During President Joe Biden's term, Border Patrol arrested an unprecedented number of immigrants who crossed illegally into the United States. Many believe Biden caused this increase in migration by reducing border enforcement. However, data obtained by the Cato Institute through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) challenges this narrative. In fact, the border crisis began before Biden took office and ended before he left.

From his administration's first day in January 2021, Biden actually increased border enforcement--arrests, detentions, and removals of border crossers all increased. The prevailing narrative that blames Biden overlooks the real causes of the crisis: America's robust labor market and bad immigration policies that incentivized illegal entries. However, Trump, not Biden, mostly started those policies. Biden eventually phased out some of them; he increased legal migration, and as the labor market cooled, the problem dissipated.

LOL if any of that were true, 10k people per day would still be flooding across the border.

Biden's abuse was using prosecutorial discretion to circumvent statutory statutory immigration limits.

If the border crisis had ended before Biden left office, the border crisis would still be going on? That's some odd reasoning.

Your huddled lawbreakers and criminals yearning to breathe free,
The wretched delinquents of your teeming shores.
Send these, the felons, wrong-do-ers to me,
I lift my lamp beside the open borders!"

We still have a crisis because Biden brought in 10-20 million criminals, far too many of them rapists, murderers, & terrorists. Most are still here since the deportations have only begun & the fascists are abusing the constitution & the laws to keep them here. This is obvious.

Wow. Talk about overthinking...

Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, etc. Every single innocent American raped or murdered by an illegal brought to the US by Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, etc is one too many. There have been dozens over the past few years and they have been widely reported. That is a crime spree.

No propaganda from Leftist web sites will change the facts.

Unfortunately, several Leftist celebrities have abused their kids with the perverted propaganda of the alphabet mob. The kids do not know what reality is because their parents don't know and consequently, some of these kids don't even know what they are. On top of that, they live in New York or California where they are indoctrinated with these lies in their expensive private "schools".
