Actually that perfectly describes Obama's populism. He appealed to black Americans. Said they had always been disenfranchised, that the government was the establishment, whites the elites, minorities the marginalized.

But if Trump can reduce interest rates and lower transportation cost……he stands a real chance for widespread popularity.
Trump has these LA/SoCal officials eating out of his hands in the town hall meeting in Los Angeles. He's put no stipulations on the Federal government helping out although someone did bring up the $50mil that Newsom is going to use to fight Trump on illegal immigrants. Thought he might bring up using voter ID also, but he hasnt.
