Again where were all these people with this type of claim when terrorists we're getting blown up since about 2002?

You were not paying attention.

I was and there were no such people.

If there were you could provide one example of a politician complaining that Obama did not give bin Laden a trial.

But no one complained about that.

So the outrage over this is fake and is only because it is trump.

Yep, 100% double standard.

It's not coming down soon. It was an incredibly wet summer which impacts hay and corn prices. When feed goes up beef goes up.

The fields around us haven't even been cut a second time. I'll be stunned if they get the 3rd cut in this year.

An obvious way to lower beef prices is to increase supply. That takes time, though, so Trump will try to manipulate things. That might not work.

I do look forward to prices dropping. They are outrageous now.

I believe it is real. He could've made a much better and more authentic selection there in my opinion.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/apr/05/paula-white-faith-office-trump

On the campaign trail, Donald Trump repeatedly promised to "protect religious liberty", and two weeks after his inauguration he acted: creating a "White House faith office", which will be led by Paula White, a millionaire televangelist known to speak in tongues who called the Black Lives Matter movement the "Antichrist" and once encouraged people to buy "resurrection seeds" for $1,114.

The move brought renewed focus on White, Trump's longtime spiritual guru. And for White, not all of it will be welcome.

In March, she was criticized over an alleged cash-for-blessings scandal, while other rightwing Christians are unhappy with her new government role, with one describing White as "100% a false teacher".

White will be "senior adviser" of Trump's faith office, which Trump announced along with an executive order which created a "Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias".

"While I am in the White House, we will protect Christians in our schools, in our military, in our government, in our workplaces, hospitals, and in our public squares, and we will bring our countries back together as one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all," Trump said in a speech announcing the creation of the faith office.

The appointment of White suggests some of those methods of protection could be unorthodox. In March, as Easter approached, White was criticised for a video in which she appeared to offer "seven supernatural blessings" for the price of $1,000, including the assignation of a personal angel. White, whose preaching has been described as adhering to "prosperity gospel" theology the belief that praying will result in financial gains said the blessings would also include prosperity and "increase in inheritance".

White denied that people had to pay to receive the blessings, a spokesperson for Paula White Ministries telling the Christian Post: "This story is a deceptive smear. Pastor White specifically says in the very same video, 'you're not doing this to get something,' and the solicitation, which was later in the program, makes it clear that any donation to the ministry should only be 'as the Holy Spirit leads.' Moreover, donations to the ministry do not directly benefit Pastor White."

Still, even some rightwing Christians were unimpressed with White's appointment. Jon Root, a Turning Point USA contributor and conservative influencer who supports Trump, told Notus: "Anybody that you know holds true to strong biblical conviction and discernment wouldn't be involved with Paula White. She's 100% a false teacher."

In any case, the "seven supernatural blessings" was not the first time White has introduced finances into faith. In 2016, she offered "resurrection seeds" for sale for $1,144, claiming in a recorded speech that God had told her the price point.

"There's someone that God is speaking to, to click on that donation button by minimizing the screen. And when you do, to sow $1,144," she said. "It's not often I ask very specifically but God has instructed me and I want you to hear. This isn't for everyone but this is for someone. When you sow that $1,144 based on John 11:44, I believe for resurrection life."

White said people could also pay $144 or $44 if they could not afford God's suggested total. The money appeared to grant individuals a metaphorical, rather than physical, seed, and the price included a prayer cloth, which White said could bring "special miracles", and recommended it be placed under a loved one's bed.

It is unclear how many seeds were sold. But it is known that there have been questions over White's financial maneuvers. CNN reported that White's former church, Without Walls International, received $150m between 2004 and 2006, and a three-year investigation by Chuck Grassley, a Republican senator from Iowa, described how the church and White's personal ministry used tax-exempt funds to pay a million dollars in salaries to family members and spent money on a private jet. The investigation closed with no penalties although investigators said they were stifled by lifelong confidentially agreements that had been signed by church employees.

beef ranchers never were able to fully replace the herd that was drawn down during the 2008-09 western / central plains drought.....

and the new world screw worm has halted the import of Mex stocker cattle into Texas for grazing.

and then the onslaught of regs and rules the New Woke politicians have placed on ranchers is driving alot of them out of business.

all of wh/ combines to severely limit the beef inventory in the US.

so as you lower (LFS crosses arms and then moves left forearm up across right arm held fixed... } supply....

actual jobsite discussion last week, out of the blue = US cattle producers are finally making some money.

You know, if we give it a little time, we could just let Brazil supply ALL of our beef. Then, we can save the planet by covering all the pastures with solar panels. And if Brazil cuts off beef shipments when we get into a war with China (BRICS gotta remain neutral, after all) we can just move to whatever beef-flavored stuff Bill Gates has been designing in a test tube to cover the shortfall. Easy peasy.

Food production is a strategic industry.
To build a strategic industry, companies have to be able to make a profit.

A mama cow has a 9 month gestation.
At birth, rancher decides to retain rather than slaughter the calf.
Calf has its first heat cycle at about 12 months of age.
Then another 9 month gestation.
Grandbaby calf is weaned at 7 months.
Weaned grandbaby calf is taken to winter pasture for a few months, then feedlot for several weeks.
Granbaby finally gets turned to beefsteak at approx 16 months of age.

Add all that up and you get an idea how long it takes to rebuild a beef herd = +/- 30 months (actual range would be 24-36 months, depending on breed, range conditions, market segment, etc....).
Given how long it takes to rebuild, is it not wiser to retain the herd you got?

Ag policy does think about such things, ya know.....
Do we really want to have to court issues of war & peace & diplomacy over a strategic resource we have abundant space and ability to produce?

Speaking in tongues does not automatically mean crazy, despite appearances. It can be a legitimate spiritual gift but Paul also had warnings about it, most notably in I Corinthians 13.

Farmer says 'we're in a very dire situation' ahead of harvest

with zero soybean orders from China, historically the largest buyer

Story by Dave Smith

  • Caleb Ragland, a Kentucky farmer and president of the American Soybean Association, is warning of an agricultural crisis as China has placed zero soybean orders for the upcoming harvest. It's a departure from typical patterns, where 25% of the U.S. crop goes to China. With prices 40% below three-year highs and production costs rising, hundreds of thousands of farmers face losses unless there's a trade resolution between the two countries.
American soybean farmers are heading into harvest season without a single order from China, historically their largest customer, raising alarm bells about the agricultural sector's stability and broader implications for the U.S. economy.

Caleb Ragland, president of the American Soybean Association and a ninth-generation farmer from Kentucky, issued a stark warning about the crisis facing the nation's 500,000 soybean growers. "Right now, we're in a very dire situation," Ragland said in a TikTok video that has drawn national attention to farmers' plight.

In a separate CNN interview, Ragland emphasized the scale of China's importance to American agriculture: "China takes more of our soybeans than all other foreign customers combined," he said, noting that 50% of U.S. soybeans are exported and China represents a quarter of total demand.

The absence of Chinese orders represents a dramatic departure from normal trading patterns. China typically accounted for over 25% of total U.S. soybean purchases, with roughly one-third of annual sales to the country normally booked by this point in the season. This translates to approximately 8%-9% of the entire U.S. crop that would typically be sold to China by now currently sitting at zero.

Farmers face immediate financial crisis
The trade dispute has pushed already-struggling farmers to the brink. Ragland told CNN that soybean prices have fallen 40% from their levels three years ago, while production costs and interest rates have risen. "We're looking at basically losses for the upcoming year if commodity prices don't improve," he said.
Current soybean futures prices reflect the uncertainty, trading around $10.10 per bushel for September contractswell below estimated production costs of approximately $11.03 per bushel. Ragland's own farm is currently generating $750,000 in losses, forcing him to rely on loans to bridge the financial gap.
"Right now we're planting a crop that looks like it will be produced at a loss," he told CNN. "By fall, when the soybeans are harvested and ready to sell, we're gonna need a drastic improvement in our markets or it's gonna get even tougher for farm families all across this country."
