A critical group of at least eight Senate Democratic centrists agreed to vote for the measure in exchange for a future vote on extending enhanced Affordable Care subsidies, according to two people familiar with the discussions even as the rest of their party has openly pilloried the deal.

I'd venture to say that said Democrat centrists are breathing a sigh of relief over Republicans having upped said centrists' chances of re-election.

If what I've been reading at Twitter is any indication, the opposite is true. Democrat base is livid

I never saw you saying that about drone strikes against terrorists under Obama…. I wonder why?????

Yes you did.

No I didn't.

I too remember the second grade.

Well when dealing with Sam (or you) one must type at a second grade level for the two of you to understand. He cannot provide evidence of his stance. But evidence is not something the two of you like.

You remind me of KaiBear. He wasn't even reading this forum during the Obama years, yet claimed he never saw me complain about Obama's drone strikes. Same exact thing. Just total bs.

Lol. Well he may not of read this forum during much of the Obama years as most of us were still on Baylorfans at that time before the merger.

But yeah Sam was not upset at drone strikes then.

It isn't hard to remember that he basically never criticized Obama. He always criticized Bush. Never criticized Biden and now always criticizing Trump just like he did in his first term. Not hard to remember the pattern.

OK, since you obviously have no direct experience with mortgages, it happens that very few people who got the traditional thirty year mortgage actually spend thirty years paying it off

Some simply pay down their mortgage early, and many clear the mortgage when they sell their home.

Same principle here, even if it's beyond you to understand the concept. Hence context matters.

I will take your response as a YES. That disappoints me. Thought you were smarter than that. Your undying devotion to Trump seems to have clouded your judgment. You are not alone. There are many here just like you.

Would never suggest a 50 year mortgage to anyone.

IMO only the bankers would benefit.

Will be in Dallas again November 20th.

Yes, the big banks are probably salivating over the possibility of government encouraged 50 year mortgages.

Sorry to hear about your sister. Family is what is really important. All the crap all of us spar and debate on this board is really not important in the big scheme of things.

I believe they were promised a vote on ACA subsidies. If there is more to it, I'm not sure. It is the deal Repubs have been offering for a while.

This is a good resolution. The extremes did not get what they wanted, abd truth be told, they got plenty of attention drawn to the issue already. They can always hold the government hostage at a later date.

I do hope Repubs will make a real effort to combat healthcare costs, and not just say the free market will take care of it.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/doj-accuses-federal-judge-making-mockery-separation-powers-snap-appeal

Federal judge orders executive branch to pay all snap benefits,,,like now! Uses all sorts of emotional arguments for his ruling.

Executive branch appeals

key point for me....

"This is a crisis, to be sure, but it is a crisis occasioned by congressional failure, and that can only be solved by congressional action," they added.

While it sucks for the true needy people that rely on snap, the burden of fixing a congress problem shouldn't be dumped on the executive.

Our congress continues to fail in so many ways.

If the order sticks it ought to open up the executive to find novel ways to solve the funding gap. I'm guessing the left wont like the fix and will sue to stop the fix.

Maybe should suspend all pay for Leftist federal judges to pay for it!
