50 year mortgages will crash the economy long term. 15 year auto loans will crash it short term.

The average age of a vehicle in the US is 12.8 years. Can you imagine being so underwater that you can't even trade in a 13 year old car you bought new because you still owe money on it?

Insurance companies are going to need insurance to cover all the people who have 6 year old cars that need work that somehow end up in the lake on "accident".

Side note: I just did the brakes on my wife's Mercedes. It cost me $1200 for the parts at employee pricing. The retail price to do pads, rotors, wear sensors and labor was just shy of $3,000. It's a 2022 GLE350. As in nothing particularly special.

Sure except he's right. This is functionally no different than when your forefathers left the farm and moved to the city for greater opportunities and pay.

Also when talking about NYC housing you almost have to talk about only NYC as it's fairly unique. Ie the solutions in Rural Ohio and NYC will not be the same. They aren't really the same problem.
