Same here….definitely wanted DeSantis instead of Trump.

Rational thinking , better persona , same executive ability.

But man, did DeSantis ever flame out during the Republican primaries. Was surprised how his campaign never took off.

Idk how close you guys followed the last election but Trump went all in on shutting DeSantis down in the beginning, most of Trumps posts on social media were about Ron, he hardly even talked about Biden at the time

I voted for DeSantis in the Republican Primary. He simply, he ran out of money.

Trump sucks the air out of the room. I preferred RD too but it's tough to run against Trump. There was open warfare on X between the Trump and DeSantis surrogates for months. It took some time for the wounds to heal.

The economy is not good. I don't care what fake metric the WH wants to use. I have about 400 customers and about 80 stops. I won't be the least bit surprised if at least 6-8 of those stops go out of business. Including a couple larger scale manufacturers. I have one stop that spent $140,000 last year that owes me around $600 and the owner hasn't been able to pay me in 3 weeks. He's never carried a balance with me.

The economy seems really split where the wealthy and upper class are far enough above it all they aren't feeling/seeing the effects...those below the line are really struggling

Those below the line are usually struggling.

This is something different though now...it's not just people in poverty. Many in the middle are struggling to get by as evidenced in spiking credit card delinquencies, car repossessions, foreclosures, etc.

Trump didn't create this mess...he inherited a lot of it...but it doesn't look like we are seeing any improvement yet.

I don't know that he is off in his number, but purchasing power would need to increase quite a bit to make up for the loss to inflation the last 5 years. Plus, prices just don't go up as much, as they will not deflate with a few exceptions.

BTW, is that a Brazilian cow? LOL!

Please remember the Fed has kept interest rates far too high.

And very much against Trumps wishes.

As soon as Trump puts his man in; I expect interest rates to drop by 3/4 of a point.

That will certainly stimulate the real estate market and possibly the entire economy.

I just don't think 3/4 of a point is going to do as much as you think. I also don't think they are going to target 3/4 of a point. I would bet they are hoping more like 3 points.

My guess is that it will come down somewhere in between

high rates???

the 3- 3 1/2% mortgage era was an aberration.....

6 1/2 is a very low rate Historically and considering the mess we are going to face before too much longer - 6.5 will seem almost quaint.

The poverty line yes. But that line of wealthy, rich, well off or whatever term you want to use, and maybe even upper middle class isn't feeling the pain of the last couple of years. But anyone below that line, poor and middle class has.

I know personally we have seen it/ felt it as we have had to cut back on extra spending (fun stuff) due to more money going out for gas, groceries, etc.

And we are really good about tracking our spending, looking for deals, price comparisons, etc.

While we have not had any issues of coming up short I can easily see how others who don't track spending as well could find themselves in trouble with the increased costs of everything.

Data Basis: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics figures show real hourly wages for production and nonsupervisory workers rose 4.1% in the first five months of Trump's second term, the fastest such pace since the 1960s, though this metric excludes executives and applies narrowly.
