How many of you are pleased and in favor of Trump renewing his attempt to rewrite history by wiping out the convictions and even records of these January 6 felons?
Below article comes from the New York Times.

They were protesting the bogus election of Biden. Joe was a fake POTUS that has darn near ruined America by letting in any illegal immigrant that crossed the border. Another Democrat Disaster.

That was not the question, and I am no Biden cheerleader.

Kinda amazed that you couldnt read between the rather simple lines of that post. I am in favor of it as it was a bogus election.

Get a job Gopher! Captain Stubbing is looking for you. He found out you just will not get off the dole. No wonder you have govt assistance as you are too effing dumb. other that be a waiter on barge.

Oldbear, are you saying that if Group A got away doing something wrong then it is okay if Group B does something wrong and gets away with it? I doubt you meant that so please explain.

I have Trump's speech the morning of January 6 and some of the other Trumpublicans. I watched it all day. I witnessed our Republican leaders call out Trump for his actions. I have sifted through the publications, including the video explanation using its version of the timeline. Which conspiracy theory do you claim is real?

I am serious about the questions as I continue to be interested in the different ways our belief systems are formed, especially the ways we code and process information about the event and January 6. Having some awareness of how belief systems are formed and how difficult they are to change, neither one of us are going to change our minds, regardless of the evidence we present.

Below is the tip of the iceberg about some of the individuals you have apparently expressed support, pieced from news media reports.

Based on court records and investigation analysis, a significant number of the January 6 defendants who received pardons or commutations from Donald Trumpincluding those whose convictions the Trump administration is currently trying to vacateexplicitly admitted to their actions in court testimony or plea agreements.

Following his return to office in January 2025, Trump granted pardons and commutations to roughly 1,500 people involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.

Admissions of Guilt in Testimony and Pleas

* Seditious Conspiracy Defendants: Leaders of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, including Stewart Rhodes (Oath Keepers) and Enrique Tarrio (Proud Boys), were convicted of seditious conspiracya charge requiring proof of a violent plot to overthrow the U.S. government.

* Guilty Pleas: More than 700 defendants pleaded guilty to federal charges, with many admitting in court to storming the Capitol, attacking law enforcement, or obstructing official proceedings.

* Specific Examples:
* Joshua James: An Oath Keeper who pleaded guilty to seditious conspiracy, admitting in his plea that he conspired with other members to use force to prevent the transfer of presidential power.

* Pamela Hemphill: A rioter who pleaded guilty to demonstrating in a Capitol building and later publicly stated, "I pleaded guilty because I was guilty!".

* Taylor James Johnatakis: A rioter who, in accepting his sentence, stated he accepted "full liability" for leading a crowd of rioters.

* Assaulting Police: Federal records indicate that, of the 327 defendants who pleaded guilty to felonies, 172 admitted to assaulting police officers, and 69 admitted to using a deadly or dangerous weapon.

Legal Context of the "Purge"
The Trump administration has been moving to vacate these convictions, rather than just pardoning them. This process, as pursued by the DOJ under Jeanine Pirro, seeks to erase the legal finding of guilt completely, which would allow them to restore gun rights and erase the record of their actions.

Post-Pardon Criminality
Many of the pardoned individuals have since been re-arrested for new crimes. For instance, according to a December 2025 analysis, at least 33 pardoned insurrectionists have been charged with new crimes after their release.

This seems concerning but is it 10 from one or two companies? OR spread out throughout the US? Are they all scientists or just employees of companies that have contracts with NASA, Nuclear agencies, etc?

Seems like a whole ton of information is needed.

They are from all walks of life. One is an MIT professor, others are neuroscientists or nuclear scientists. No visible common threads throughout the lot

Good morning, BUDOS:

You have certainly dived into the deep end of the conspiracy theory pool. I think my past post properly added the necessary perspective on this matter, but would like to address some of your points:

BUDOS: "Oldbear, are you saying that if Group A got away doing something wrong then it is okay if Group B does something wrong and gets away with it? I doubt you meant that so please explain."

Not what I said. You made a great deal of media hysteria about one day at one place, but have said nothing at all about the riots in 2020 at Minneapolis,

New York,

Rochester,

Portland,

Chicago,

Kenosha,

and Philadelphia

sixty-eight municipalities in all. Well over eight thousand violent events were recorded in a two month span.

After-Action Reports on the Riots of 2020 | Police Magazine

The J6 protest was in no way in the same league as the leftist rioters, who committed " 2,385 incidents of looting and 624 incidents of arson, including 97 police vehicles burned. More than 2,035 law enforcement officers were injured at the protests and riots during the time frame studied."

After-Action Reports on the Riots of 2020 | Police Magazine

A site set up to track the cost of the 2020 riots reported

"Total: 37 dead, 29 other gunshot victims, 19 other major injuries, 2 other attempted murders
Related Killings: 8, Related Beatings: 1"

2020 BLM/Antifa Riot Deaths

So please stop pretending this is 'whataboutism'. The violence you are ignoring was massive, hurt far more people, and has received almost no criticism from mainline media.

As for Trump's speech, there was nothing criminal there. There is absolutely no doubt the Biden Administration would have charged Trump with a crime for the speech if they could, and let's not forget how many media outlets deleted the section where Trump told protesters to do so peacefully.

Trump did absolutely nothing we have not seen from Democrats in terms of trying to change the election outcome after Election Day. I already reminded you about some of Clinton's tactics in January 2017.

So your little jibe about 'conspiracy theories' can go where the rest of the trash is sent.

I do think it's helpful to consider how belief systems are developed, especially regarding the sources accepted or rejected. It's also important to keep context in mind; the Democrats have a long history of persecuting conservatives, or do I have to go back and dig up how Obama abused the IRS and DOJ, then Biden after him, to go after people whose worst offense in many cases was a misdemeanor, and only a possible one at that. That weapon has, at least up to now, not been used the other way, and you are literate enough to know that.

Now as to the list of individuals you posted; you might want to rethink that broad-brush approach you're using. Your own post observed that Trump " granted pardons and commutations to roughly 1,500 people involved" , but you provided individual accusations on four people. More than kind of displays a tendency to blame all for a few. And I also mentioned in my prior post that at least some of the 'admissions' were coerced by keeping accused in solitary confinement, denying them legal counsel or meeting the speedy-trial requirement to which they were entitled. I am disappointed you just ignored that point, as I believed you cared about the accused having their rights recognized, but perhaps you don't so that when you don't like someone.

You have some hypocrisy issues here, BUDOS. Most people are hypocrites at one time or another, but I did believe you sought candor and to gain perspective. I hope that is still the case.
