Axios: Elon Musk plans massive push for GOP in midterms

Tech billionaire Elon Musk is jumping into the midterms with a huge investment in a plan to boost Republican voter turnout, Axios has learned.

Musk is resuscitating his dormant super PAC, America PAC, which spent more than $260 million to help get President Trump elected in 2024.

America PAC will focus on door-knocking, digital advertising and direct mail aimed at turning out the conservative base, including voters who typically are less inclined to cast ballots in a non-presidential election year, sources with knowledge of the plans tell Axios

That's huge! And since he is now a Texan, he will be spending quite a bit to make sure that Talarico doesn't win against Paxton

He might but I don't think he needs to. Talarico keeps helping Paxton's campaign with one stupid statement after another.

Interesting this was brought up as I was thinking just this afternoon while I was at my go to Cigar Lounge in upscale hotel as I am a few times per week. I have noticed that this particular hotel seems to do a very large business catering to Muslim folk. They seem to congregate in the plush lobby having Arabic Coffee ect. The seem to come in all shapes and sizes. I see a lot of Muslim women wearing a Hijab which I kinda understand. However, there seems to be a lot of Muslim women with full on black Burkas with eye-slits. Gotta say, I just don't get that get up whatsoever. I find it very creepy.

I don't get it either. It always looks like something out of Star Wars to me.

It's also a classic Ponzi scheme. The biggest ever and it only "works" because it's involuntary and it's the govt. Of course it doesn't really work too well because the numbers don't add up. That said, people have been predicting its imminent demise for at least 30 years.

I still think the best solution is to privatize it and allow everyone to have control over their own money without the corrupt politicians taking a cut.

You can start that with the new Generation entering the workplace, but for those that are within 15 years of retirement? That will be tough. Too much of the system they worked under is based on SS and Medicare.

I'd gladly take the losses I've put into it if it means I don't have to put any more into it the rest of my life.

47% of retirees in the US live completely on Social Security.

Any plan going forward has to take that into account, because the next generation is also wondering how they will survive.

Obviously, if privatization were to happen (very unlikely), it would have to be done very carefully. People currently receiving benefits cannot be dropped and those who will soon retire should remain eligible but younger generations should have options.

exactly... We can start a new system for those entering work force but many are too far down path.
