The only president in history to pay down the debt was Andrew Jackson about 200 years ago. Since we've never had zero debt except during that brief period it's a mostly meaningless statement. Our federal overspending & insane national debt problem is bipartisan and has been growing for decades.

You say the last 3 GOP president did little about the debt. All modern presidents did nothing about it except watch it grow.

Spare yourself.

Clinton got the debt down to 0 or near 0 depending on how you calculate it. You could have googled it but instead you posted ignorance. Not surprised.

Talk about ignorance!!! LOL

At the turn of the century the deficit (annual spending greater than revenues) was eliminated for 2-3 years even with a surplus. Bush 43 decided to give a rebate to all taxpayers with some of the money. I remember getting my check.

The national debt (accumulated deficits over time) remained in the trillions and today is almost $40 trillion.

There is a huge difference between in terminology. If you are going to accuse someone of ignorance you might want to know something about the subject yourself. Instead you act foolish.

Clinton is also the only president since WW2 to not be facing another super power. China wasn't to that point just yet. Hence he could seriously talk about a "peace dividend."

He also didn't have…
Major financial crisis like runaway inflation or failing banks - though the mortgage laws passed in 1995 greatly contributed to the 2008 crisis coming to roost.

Covid

9/11, 2008, and Covid have so much to do with our current debt issues, no one would be complimenting Clinton on national debt has his admin faced any one of these.

While the following admins did little to curb the debt following these disasters, I really can't be too easy on Clinton not getting the debt down with all of his advantages. He got set up well, rode the wave along with Congress, and set us up for later disasters.

Clinton also benefitted from the Gingrich revolution which brought some fiscal restraint (not something the Dems are accused of) and welfare reform (Clinton vetoed it before finally signing).

BOMBSHELL JUST DROPPED THERE IS NO HIDING THIS ANYMORE
Investigative journalist Catherine Herridge just exposed the documents.
China was BLACKMAILING the Biden family… and it was sitting in President Biden's own daily brief.
She found the records. She held them up on camera. The evidence is right there.
And what did the FBI, CIA, and the entire legacy media do?
They buried it. They looked the other way. They protected the regime.
This isn't politics.
This isn't a "scandal."
This is TREASON at the highest level.
They knew.
They covered it up.
And they did it to keep power.
No more excuses. No more "conspiracy theories." The documents are out. The truth is staring America in the face.

Here it is:

Devin Nunez VINDICATED.

Twenty CIA and FBI agents have blown the whistle, confirming that Barack Hussein Obama and his Chief of Staff, CIA Director John Brennan, created the false Russia hoax, doctored intelligence to overthrow the duly elected president of the United States in 2016, and locked the report in a CIA vault for nearly a decade.

On March 21, 2017, Devin Nunes traveled to the White House and informed President Trump that he was being overthrown.

The following day, March 22, 2017, he stood alone, holding an unexpected press conference confirming that Barack Obama had spied on Trump and the Trump campaign.

On April 17, 2017, Devin Nunes was forced to resign from the House Intelligence Committee's Obama-Russia inquirybecause Paul Ryan is a treacherous piece of garbage.

Now, give the man the Presidential Medal of Freedomat once.

That is an interesting article, but romaine lettuce has been involved in yearly recalls since 2018, sometimes with what we would call widespread illness. I can't see the difference in this time around as far as the contamination is concerned, except for the specific contaminant.

Is it really "Breaking" if it happened over a year ago?

As far as I can find the case has not progressed and none of the indicted people have been convicted or plead guilty.

There is also a federal legal battle over whether one of the laws the charges were brought under is constitutional. I think that is still before the 5th circuit.

BREAKING: A Henderson, Nevada doctor has been indicted in a $95 million Medicare fraud scheme after allegedly billing for unnecessary procedures on elderly patients and using the proceeds to fund a lavish lifestyle that included custom multi-million-dollar yachts.

Dr. Stephen Dubin, 74, of Henderson, was charged last week with conspiracy to commit health care fraud and multiple counts of health care fraud. Prosecutors say he and others applied expensive amniotic wound allografts to Medicare patients, including some in hospice care, without medical necessity.

According to the indictment, Dubin procured the products through illegal kickbacks and bribes, then submitted false claims that caused Medicare to pay more than $54 million. He allegedly used sham invoices to hide the true costs and pocket the difference.

Court documents state that Dubin used the proceeds of the alleged scheme to finance a luxurious lifestyle, including having multi-million-dollar yachts built for him.

If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison on each count.

You are correct, my bad. Both the deficit and debt have gotten so out of control I usually use both without caring. It was as you say we simply ran a yearly surplus in Clinton's last year. Seems like a dream.

National Association of Realtors hemorrhaging hundreds of thousands

The National Association of Realtors has seen membership shrink by approximately 150,000 since 2024, and lost another 50,000 members in the two years before that.

To be fair, the early 2020s marked peak enthusiasm in the sector, with so many people turning to professional real estate (6) that some considered it over-saturated (7).

While viral claims that only 28.9% of agents closed on one or more homes last year have been disproven (8) NAR data states that only 5% of agents on the residential side of the market saw 0 sales 21% of all NAR
members made less than a meagre $10,000 in 2025, suggesting other income streams. This does, however, take into account commercial agents, who represent 30% of NAR's membership, and 66% of whom failed to close on a single property over the course of the year.

Agreed. It should be our goal to have a surplus every year. Then that can be used to pay down the debt. That would take a long time with an insanely huge debt but it would be possible. It also would get easier over time. A reduced debt would reduce the interest payments. An ongoing effort to stop and prevent fraud would pay off with less. A govt with reduced bloat would promote tax revenue without increases (tax cuts can do that!) and economic growth would result in increased revenue, bigger surpluses, and quicker debt reduction.

The first step is balancing the budget. If Congress remembered daily that they are our servants (not masters), that the solution to every problem is not more spending (often the cause), and that budget surpluses should be common then all of this would be easier. As an added benefit we would all be freer. Since less govt means greater freedom.

HIllary

Sheilla Jackson Lee

Jimmy Carter (denied 2000 election results and 2016)

Bill Clinton

All of the Dems in 2016 with their Russia Interference claims.

Stacey Abrams.

And on and on.

Dems are just as guilty as Republicans at doubting elections. So don't act like this is something that just started with Trump/Maga. It has been around for a long time. Heck back in the late 1800s there were disputes about election results with both sides claiming the other side cheated.
