My goodness you are pathetic.

But I will throw you a 'bone' out of pure pity.

I use the handle of 'Kaibear' out of my love for my first grandson whose name is Kai and my nickname for him has always been KAIBEAR.

Even now at 8 years old he lets me call him that …in private.

( You are never going to believe this but Kaibear just called me to let me know how well he is doing on his favorite video game. Doubt you can even comprehend such a close relationship as you indulge in a completely narcissistic lifestyle)

Anyway my coffee has been consumed and my wife is ready to hit the beach.

Go on with your liberal hypocrisy….i am going to enjoy your frustration the next 4 years !

Those are great passages from the Bible. Here's hoping the person who posted them actually reads that Bible and follows its teachings.

Sadly, we have a lot of "gotcha" warriors out there who have never opened the Bible, much less touched one. They're good at Google searching 'ways to throw out Biblical gotchas at Christians though.

But for those who do open the Bible, what they would soon realize is that there is something truly special that comes from the Word of God. If one takes time to learn from it. And what they would also realize is that all of these "gotcha" scriptures they pull out of context, are actually given more depth when you read what is around those scriptures.

Now that being said, there is a lot to consider in those scriptures. And good on the poster who posted them, whatever his motivation, because they serve as a reminder to us. And for those of us who believe in them, a lot of us do put our money where our mouth is.

My brother is the perfect example. He gives a huge percentage of his money to Samaritan's Purse. He lives simply, doesn't spend a lot of money on himself buying a bunch of "things." But he still makes good money. Which he then puts right back out there to the cause.

And where does that money go? To feed, to clothe and give to those who have little or nothing shelter.

Does that mean that God also expects my brother to open up the front door to his house with a sign that says to come on in and take whatever they want?

No. God also expects us to be smart too. And if you leave your door open to everyone, soon you have nothing left to give.

These scriptures that are used as "gotchas" are a nice attempt for non-believers to needle Christians. And they will have their motivations for doing so. But whatever. I leave that to God.

But with regard to those scriptures in particular, this country does provide a place for the peoples of the world to come to. "Give me your tired your poor" has been a huge part of what this country stands for with immigrants coming from all over the world.

But there have to be laws and rules in place too.

Many in this country also give a lot of money to those in need, not only here in the States, but to people all over the world. They are fulfilling the expectations of God, even if we aren't necessarily leaving our borders wide open for the taking. Again, God expects us to be smart too.

It's ok. An aggie joining a baylor board and pretending to be a bear is cool. Don't go on any 3 hour tours Thurston

The folks who self-righteously think open borders are the answer to compassion, they need to be the first to volunteer their elderly parents social security and medicare care needs are given up, so the government can spend this money on people who come here illegally and have to be cared for. Then they need to decide that they will pay for their elderly parents living expenses and medical needs out of their own pockets instead.

Having an actual secure border and laws that regulate the coming and going of people on the border are not inhuman, but humane to all involved. That doesn't mean don't care for or be loving toward immigrants. That is a red herring. It is compassionate to regulate the border, so that those who come legally can be tended to properly and citizens who are here now, will have funds to be cared for properly, if and when their time of need is here.

In the Bible, God didn't even put widows on the list to be cared for until they reached age 60, thinking they or their direct family should care for them.

A huge influx of new illegal, unvetted people some of whom have bad intentions, is not a good thing and will never be a good thing. To pretend it is compassion, is one of the biggest lies perpetrated out there today.

What does the Bible say about immigrants and refugees?

Love Refugees As Yourself
When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. (Leviticus 19:33-34)
Leave Food for the Poor and the Foreigner
When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. (Leviticus 19:9-10)
God Loves the Foreigner Residing Among You
He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt. (Deuteronomy 10:18-19)
Do Not Oppress a Foreigner
Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt. (Exodus 23:9)
Do Not Deprive Foreigners Among You of Justice
"So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me," says the Lord Almighty. (Malachi 3:5)
Do Whatever the Foreigner Asks of You
"As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name- for they will hear of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm-when they come and pray toward this temple, then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name. (1 Kings 8:41-44)
Leave Your Door Open to the Traveler
No stranger had to spend the night in the street, for my door was always open to the traveler (Job, discussing his devotion to God) (Job 31:32)
Invite the Stranger In
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' (Matthew 25:25-36)
We Were All Baptized By One Spirit
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body-whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free-and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. (1 Corinthians 12:12-14)
Love Your Neighbor as Yourself
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." (Galatians 5:14)
Have Mercy on Your Neighbor
He asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'
"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"
The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise." (Luke 10:29-37)

Seems pretty simple.

Sorry for breaking in on your celebrations. Carry on

christian nationalists do not believe in that part of the Bible. Those parts of loving foreigners, widows, orphans, or the poor are only verses where christian nationalists believe and support separation of Church and state.

Thanks for posting this.

You'll get flamed, but those who support cruelty to refugees show their lack of familiarity with the scriptures or Jesus.

C. Jordan said:

Tremendous sermon given by a preacher with tremendous courage. She knew she was going to get MAGA fury, but she uplifted Jesus anyway. She spoke morally, and that always has political implications.

It was actually mild. She urged the President to show compassion for the powerless. A great man who was a Christian would have taken it well. Since Trump is neither, he didn't. Instead, he made a vile, petty, nonChristian post. Because that's who he is. He worships the rich and powerful, the Musks, etc. None of them are in the neighborhood of Christ.

I wish some of his groveling evangelical megachurch "pastors" had introduced him to Jesus. But they would have had to have known him themselves to do so.

She's a libtard and you know it. I agree with Trump's post. She did fail to mention the murders that have taken place by illegals. Cases like the Laken Riley case. Here is Trump's post....

Nice try to change the subject.

She didn't mention the murders, but she did mention that the vast majority of immigrants aren't criminals. They're good people who work hard, pay their taxes, and build good communities. Many of them are scared right now. Even those who are here legally. Even those who are here who are Christians fleeing persecution. By supporting cruelty to refugees, you're supporting cruelty to many of your brothers and sisters in Christ.

All she asked for in a gentle way was compassion for those who are afraid right now.

A great man would have simply moved on and posted nothing. Let others defend him. But Trump is nowhere near a great man. He's a petty poisonous malicious narcissist. If Jesus spoke to him, he would curse Jesus to his face.

If you agree with the crass classless cruelty of Trump's post, then I think you need to give the Sermon on the Mount a good read.

In fact, read the Sermon on the Mount, watch the video of her message, and read Trump's dreadful post and consider which reflects Jesus.

I don't know know why an aggie would try to change to a bear. I wouldn't go on texag with an aggie name. It's no big deal. Just shows character when he denied it by asking for a link to prove it.
