Think Trump ever goes back to that church?

Let's just say I am in a position to know the seminary very well. The faculty is traditional on marriage. You want 3 faculty members, I can give you 20. I know them very well. Because we are a school of the BGCT (much more than Baylor) we maintain the BGCT's standards on sexual ethics. Truett does not knowingly hire faculty who are progressive on human sexuality. It is a part our statement of faith and also our statement on our faculty's "Life Together." I invite you to look it up. Blessings.

Completely understand. We're probably talking past one another.

I do not doubt that every faculty member pledged or signed to support the BGCT's position on marriage and sexual ethics.

My point was that privately virtually every permanent faculty member agrees with her and not a single one of them would publicly disagree. Similarly, I would be shocked if you could find a single Truett student or alumnus that would publicly disagree with her.

Unfortunately, I think in many ways Truett has hoodwinked the good folks of the BGCT - I am reasonably confident the overwhelming number of Truett alumni still in ministry work at churches that are "welcoming and affirming" of the radical gay agenda.

Respectfully, you don't know what you are talking about. Truett faculty are traditional on marriage.

Secondly, you asked for alumni. I don't know where you live, so I'll start with ones in Waco: the pastors of First Baptist Church Waco, Columbus Avenue, and the just retired pastor of Woodway First Baptist (who before that was a theology professor at Truett) all hold degrees from Truett and are traditional.
Moreover, along with the BGCT, Truett's secondary affiliation is now with the Global Methodist Church. After the UMC split, Truett saw the need to train conservative Methodists and is the second largest seminary (next to Asbury) to do this. If you don't know, the Global Methodists are the traditionalists. This is what the Truett faculty wanted to do because …. (Wait for it) … the Truett faculty is also traditionalist and saw a new Wesley House for Global Methodists as a good fit.

Okay. There is a very real possibility that I do not know what I am talking about. So let's not just talk hypotheticals past one another.

Can you find five examples of Truett faculty publicly supporting Christian marriage?

Can you find five examples of Truett alumni publicly supporting Christian marriage? And I mean MDivs. DMins are just unnecessary credentialing that is barely associated with the school ... the MDivs are where the pulse of the seminary ... can you find five current MDiv students that have publicly supported Christian marriage?

Genuinely, I am not arguing to argue ... I just think maybe you have been deceived. I would love for you to prove me wrong.

I am associated with the seminary. I have not been deceived. I am very sorry that you clearly have come across some bad apples, but you have misrepresented the seminary as a whole. I know a good number of our alumni who quietly serve traditional churches (the majority) and who only marry husbands and wives and who stand for traditional sexually ethics and traditional orthodox theology. Please be thoughtful in the future before going after an entire institution you are not familiar with simply because of some outspoken products. Every school has that.

Thanks for your input Grumpy

I always like it when people associated with Baylor now days chime in to give their perspective.

(My only source now that a young cousin graduated is a relative who is friends with a Regent)

I also hope that is the case at Truett

Thank you for your service. As I stated, I am not trying to argue with you to win a political argument. I want you to prove me wrong. I am a fully believer in Christian marriage. I just asked that rather than talk around one another, we have a discussion based on facts:

- Share five examples of Truett faculty publicly supporting Christian marriage
- Share five examples of Truett MDiv students publicly supporting Christian marriage

I believe you believe your convictions, so it should be easy to find examples.

I am not sure what you are asking. You want me to go research various alumni sermons or passages from colleagues books pertaining to the issue and post links? That would take me considerable time. I'm not the most technologically savvy. So I'm sorry I can't turn this around to you. I do hope however you encounter some of our graduates doing good work and representing both the seminary and especially our Savior well in the future. That would be the best "proof" of all. I wish you the best.

I apologize as I thought the request was pretty clear. I was simply asking for evidence that supports your assertion that Truett faculty and students support Christian marriage. That was simply:

- Share five examples of Truett faculty publicly supporting Christian marriage
- Share five examples of Truett MDiv students publicly supporting Christian marriage

You were very confident that Truett faculty and students affirm Christian marriage, and you have a connection to Truett. So surely Truett promotes its faculty and students proclaiming what they believe, so it should be easy to find clear examples of Truett faculty and staff publicly supporting Christian marriage ...

Or maybe you have been deceived.

You're making a deeper argument than I ... I was just asking for simple evidence of the assertion made by Grumpy that Truett faculty affirms Christian marriage. As I have consistently shown, that is the easiest way to separate the wheat from the chaff. Truett faculty may sigh a statement that purports to believe in Christian marriage, but I guarantee not a single one of them would proclaim it publicly. I will not judge their hearts or the implications ... each of you reading can decide what that means.

Dear Harrison Bergeron:

I am so sorry about your negative feelings toward the seminary. However, you are not accurate. You just said: "I guarantee not a single one of them would proclaim it publicly." Okay. I am a professor at Truett. I believe homosexuality is sin and that marriage is only intended to be between one man and one woman as a lifetime commitment.

This is such a dumb argument.

American tax payers are handing most these people a free ride. Don't think Jesus would be cool with that.

Come here legally. Find work. Subsist on your own. Or stay where you are. We have enough poor and veterans here alone that laid into this country for decades to help

Nobody is against immigrants. Everyone should be against illegal immigrants. Just importing democrat voters. Now if you own stocks it's amazing but truly immoral

What does the Bible say about immigrants and refugees?

Love Refugees As Yourself
When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. (Leviticus 19:33-34)
Leave Food for the Poor and the Foreigner
When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. (Leviticus 19:9-10)
God Loves the Foreigner Residing Among You
He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt. (Deuteronomy 10:18-19)
Do Not Oppress a Foreigner
Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt. (Exodus 23:9)
Do Not Deprive Foreigners Among You of Justice
"So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me," says the Lord Almighty. (Malachi 3:5)
Do Whatever the Foreigner Asks of You
"As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name- for they will hear of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm-when they come and pray toward this temple, then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name. (1 Kings 8:41-44)
Leave Your Door Open to the Traveler
No stranger had to spend the night in the street, for my door was always open to the traveler (Job, discussing his devotion to God) (Job 31:32)
Invite the Stranger In
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' (Matthew 25:25-36)
We Were All Baptized By One Spirit
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body-whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free-and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. (1 Corinthians 12:12-14)
Love Your Neighbor as Yourself
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." (Galatians 5:14)
Have Mercy on Your Neighbor
He asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'
"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"
The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise." (Luke 10:29-37)

Seems pretty simple.

Hey logic challenged, individuals treat people well, but that, doesn't mean a country shouldn't have and enforce laws. Stop being an intentional moron. I'm sure you were once smarter than this. Sadly now, you're broken.

No facts or even Biblical answers. You really think a lot of yourself dont you?

Go back to posting and then responding to your posts. I think you record is 4 in a row.
I have found theres only two ways to go:
Living fast or dying slow.
I dont want to live forever.
But I will live while I'm here.

All I did was post a few scriptures. Maybe you could post some about how we should treat strangers on the road .

I know I posted some OT. I also included some NT. Show me how Christ told us to treat the weak poor landless strangers.

All I did was...

LOL, your premise is that Biblical text doesn't have context, or the context you want it to. I'm merely pointing out that it does have context, and illegal aliens may be strangers, but it doesn't negate their crime. Be kind, sure, but laws have consequences.

You don't even believe the Bible literally, so why do you bother pretending?

Can you post the biblical examples where a country or its people are asked to drop laws just because someone is in the country illegally?

You are really arguing that a country shouldn't enforce laws. You're not smart.

Sorry for breaking in on your celebrations. Carry on
Indeed. So open borders it is, and opening our homes to illegal immigrants. Glad to see that you at least take some scripture seriously.

How many are you currently housing (and just FYI, I am not talking about the young immigrant girls you're currently banging?
I have lived in Waco for 18 months now. I have a friend living in a house I rent in Puorto Morales and I pay the private school tuition of a child in Thailand. I have three grown children, all from the same woman. I think she lives in Austin now. See how honest I am? Any other personal questions?

Wait a second: you mean you haven't invited illegal immigrants into your home in Waco? And I'm sorry, but honeys that you're banging who live in Puorto Morales don't count. What charities are you currently providing to illegal immigrants? And again, paying the cheap tuition of the woman you're banging or her child doesn't count.

I'm disappointed. When you posted all of those verses, I figured you had turned the corner, and were actually practicing what you preach but apparently not. Apparently it's do what I say and not what I do. How come you haven't allowed illegal immigrants into your home in light of your interpretation of the verses you just posted?

Clearly, Jesus was in favor of mass migration to the detriment of others. No other way to read it. Open borders all the way.

He must also have been in favor of chemical castration and the mutilation of children, given the good pastor's comments on trans youth.

And Elon is a Nazi! Even AOC thinks so.

You need to start putting out a newsletter with your thoughts. The unintentional hilarity would give the Babylon Bee a run for its money.
