The Army is refusing to release the name of the "female" pilot, ostensibly because the family doesn't want it released.

So yeah, you can pretty much presume that it's a DEI hire with a bad training record or a ******.

There's no benign, innocent explanation for it, and gross negligence on part of whoever was at the controls of the Blackhawk.

Also, a 100 foot deviation will probably result in you busting an ATP checkride as that is the maximum allowable altitude deviation. Certainly if you don't correct it, the examiner will bust you. Most guys will fly an ATP ride with no worse than a 20-40 foot altitude deviation, with it being dead on at all times. These are fixed wing limits. I can't imagine the rotorcraft limits are any more lax.

It is suspicious. Usually government opacity means CYA.
Interesting take.

What do you think the Trump Administration is trying to hide?

From what I have heard, the family is refusing the right to publish the name. Is that legal?

Might not be more lax, but a wind gust will blow a helicopter much further up than a fixed wing. Not saying that had anything to do with it, but theyvwere clearly higher than they should have been.

I don't think the family has a "right" to that, more likely that they requested it, and the Army complied.

I don't know.

The posters I was responding to insinuated it was a military/government coverup, and I'm hoping someone will answer my question.

And it may well be, the world is wondering the reason.

We do know that DEI was parr of the issue, without a doubt. The tower was supposed to be staffed with 30 people but only had 20 do to DEI training and hiring. These guys were overworked. The DEI stalled training at the FAA Academy in OKC. The classes were only partially filled and they had to turn down qualified applicants if they weren't of a certain race to fill the roster. And some other races didn't appear to be interested in doing that job.

We don't know any such thing at this point in time.

We also don't know what the Trump Administration is hiding in its refusal to release the pilot's name, which is what other posters have claimed.

While the US has Rosie the Riveter, the Russians had Rozi the Fighter Pilot. Some women aces in the Soviet Air Force.

Female pilots for the US ferried bombers over the Atlantic.
nah bro, you are brainwashed by Bolshevik propaganda. You probably think trrans women can have periods and trans men can be strong like actual males. You cant defeat nature.

Trouble with full on stereotypes, have you?
Female pilots in WW2 on all sides are well documented. A female German pilot was most instrumental in getting the V1 buzz bomb flying correctly - unfortunately. Would have been better if she had been your stereotype.

Dozens of American women flew hundreds of non combat related flights for the Army Air Corps in WW2.
Cool, you should give them a trophy at a WNBA game.

Weak

Bottom line…..women have long proved themselves as capable military pilots.

And not just in the US.

Of course. Let me explain it to you but i cannot understand it for you: no one objects to women pilots, etc. The objection is lowering standards to give unqualified women or bleks positions they do not deserve and risk public safety.
The day you can comprehend anything beyond my ability; will give you a little gold cap for your pointed head.

Women are the equal of men except for upper body straight. Blacks are the equal of whites when provided the same education, health care and family structure.

Don't lower the standards, make everything merit based....then get out of the way of those Hispanic tradesmen. As they are far better than any fat yuppie on a farm, ranch or construction job site.

BTW anyone who really believes whites are naturally 'superior' to anyone else hasn't spent much time in East Texas.

I don't know if that was a rumor too.

One huge problem with reports in the aftermath of such tragedies is that everything is reported including all kinds of crazy rumors and even outright lies. There are few if any filters and one doesn't know what to believe. I suspect within a few days we will start getting some genuine facts.

We all want instant info and that conflicts with the need for accuracy.

I'm going to assume her accounts were not scrubbed until I see something more concrete. If it's true, there should also be some sort of explanation because they could be interpreted in many ways and invites speculation & rumors.

In her obit, her family said "she was a daughter, sister, partner..."

Since the only photos of her were with another gal, all her social and parent's social was scrubbed, it would make sense to say that she was a lesbo and the odds are, a probable DEI hire.

Her time at the White House was in addition to her military duties. It's not like she took a two years' leave of absence to pal around with Biden. Almost all military officers have "Additional Duties" that they volunteer to do.

Why is this DEI crap so important to some of you? There is literally no evidence it had any role with Captain Lobach and her duties, yet some are pulling things out of thin air to disparage her.

And then you wonder why her family initially asked that her name not be released.
