We did a day trip over to Maastricht, NL while I was in Germany bc I did study abroad in Maastricht. It was still like I remembered from the late 90s and mostly all Dutch people. Then we drove over to Liege, Belgium to walk around a little bit and it was very noticeable that Belgium is more like the Belgian Congo than what it used to be like. Kinda... but a lot of the blame for Europe being the disaster it is falls on America.
