Is Jesus obsolete?

All his teachings about compassion, mercy, forgiveness, loving your neighbor.

In today's political environment sounds "woke".

Is it time to find a new religion?

Or have we already found one?

Forgiveness, compassion, mercy and love doesn't mean acceptance. What it really means is that you don't fight fire with fire. We don't engage in sin to fight sin. It also mean being empathetic: ask yourself who groomed and brainwashed them and forgive them for being ensnared and enticed to support evil that they believe is good.

I feel sadness that woke people are lost and that their worldview is upside down. I don't hate them, I hate their satanic worldview.

You can forgive people, but that doesn't mean you condone their behavior, nor does it mean you don't fight against it with wisdom.

Wokeness condones and promotes sin and evil.

Matthew 7:15
2 Corinthians 11:13-15

On another note, prophecy in Revelations shows that humanity will become extremely evil and wicked at large or in majority. You must understand that man can't win this battle, only God.

Compassion, mercy, forgiveness, and loving your neighbor are the opposite of woke.

Acts 5: Ananias, with his wife Sapphira - committed fraud and large scale social deception against God. Did God sit down and sing kumbaya with them?

Acts 5:5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

The teachings & message of Jesus will NEVER be obsolete.

The gospel will always be relevant until the very end. When the judgment comes, it will be too late.

Jesus was speaking to His disciples and others. Shortly after, He took Peter, James & John to an isolated place and they witnessed the Transfiguration. Arguably, they saw the Kingdom of God. Also, all the disciples except Jesus saw Christ after the resurrection and witnessed His ascension. That could be described as seeing the Kingdom of God.

Is easy for people to dismiss scriptures when looking at things from a narrow, human perspective. Christ looked at everything from God's perspective.

Mild correction: the gospel will be relevant for all eternity.

I agree with your sentiments 100%.... just a very very mild correction there.

Keep up the good fight.

But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

1 Timothy 1:15

This is a trustworthy saying, worthy of full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst.

Matthew 21:31-32
Which of the two did the will of his father?" "The first," they answered. Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you. / For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

Luke 15:7
I tell you that in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous ones who do not need to repent.

Luke 19:10
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

John 3:17
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

Romans 2:4
Or do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you to repentance?

It was a test & Abraham passed. God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son but provided a substitute. Centuries later, God sacrificed His only son as our substitute.

By the way, some believe that both events occurred at the same place.

We can pick lines out and make it say whatever you want. The Gospels emphasized Christ coming for those that need him, helping those in need and he despised the Pharisees that were a slave to the law. But, we can argue all day.

The other Books seemed more into the what not to dos. If you like the punitive stuff, I bet you love Paul. Paul loves that ***** He loves telling everyone what to do...

The Gospels tell us how Jesus came for all of us to have the opportunity of being in the kingdom of God. They show that those who believe in their heart on Jesus will be more successful in loving others as God loves. Not just trying to keep people from suffering and dying here, but pointing the way to eternity with our loving Creator. Christianity is so much more than a bandage and a hug, though bandages and hugs are a good starting point.

I live the entire book of James since it is filled with wisdom. I quoted the one verse because it is relevant to the discussion. I did not take it out of context or cherry pick.

My point is that we are all sinners, all equal in that regard. I don't think God has a hierarchy of sins. All are equally bad and we are all guilty of plenty of them. Besides, the purpose of Mosaic Law was to establish that it is impossible for anyone to obey it all.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23

We are all sinners and we all need Jesus. He is our only hope.

Stop and think about that.

With all the mentions of compassion and mercy, why this verse?

Do you really think God suddenly became legalistic?

James was warning people not to trust in their own merit and strength, because none of us are able to keep the law on our own strength.

Christ provided us access to the Holy Spirit so we could endure, persevere, and grow in faith and love.

Consider Luke 18:26-27 . When the disciples heard Jesus say what was required, they asked 'who then can be saved?' Jesus replied that what is impossible for men is possible because of God.

If we love the Lord and hold Him dear in our hearts, we will follow the Law completely out of love and faith and hope. That is where we should put our confidence, and not in our own cleverness or wit.

Cut the bull****, it was a book written by men that wanted their new religion to catch on, decades after Jesus died.
