Defense Department is awash in fraud and graft.
But at least Dems will have few objections with Musk revealing it.

Their real screaming will be with the billions of fraud discovered with disability, food stamps, and welfare.

Wait, that is not fraud or graft. You may not agree with a project or training, but it is not fraud. The work is being done. Not agreeing is not fraud. Fraud is criminal.

My friend I suspect there are tons of kickbacks on defense contracts.

You suspect? Have you ever worked on a grant or federally funded project? The auditing and monthly accountability is overwhelming, every penny accounted for.

I mean this with all due respect, as I respect your opinions. But kicking back would be difficult. I managed a 1.9 million TIGER grant, a tiny grant. Audit was three days of questions on every expenditure. Same with 23 million dollar grant, the accountability is ridiculous. Any "kick backs" are occurring outside of the Federal system.
Give it up already man. The DoD has received a disclaimer of opinion in every department-wide audit that has ever been conducted; and those only began in 2018. The DoD is so screwed up that the auditors can't even find the money trails. According to you, this can't be because of incompetence because the "accountability is overwhelming." If that is true, then the system they have created is deliberately designed to shield transactional flows. You don't do things that way unless you are compromised.

Geez, you really think they can't find the money? There is no paper trail? Every other Dept can and does find every dime. Yet DOD can't? You ever think they don't want everyone to know what weapon systems are being funded and what operations are taking place? They want you to know DARPA funding? SOCOM? Skunk Works? They don't finish an audit because they don't want to finish. You really think Federal money through DOD is going to kick backs? You don't think if that is happening it is outside the Govt finance structure that can be traced back to a Congressional approval? Are you 12? You have been watching too many movies.

Reality of having actually worked with Federal funds, built infrastructure and been through GAO audits. Most of you have no idea what you are talking about and most of what you push out is Podcast conspiracy theory BS. The Feds track every dime, you can't get funded without being able to show how it is being spent and who is getting it.

You really think that DoD can't track the money? Really? They have no idea? Have you ever seen a Government financial tracking system of monthly reporting? They know where every dime went. They made a policy decision that not completing or failing an audit is a better option than laying out how the US military is allocating funds. They could care less if Elon Musk approves. Hell, Elon don't care as long as he KEEPS getting his share.

SS fraud? Sure it happens, what percent? What is the error rate we are talking here? (.084%, under 1%) You guys are putting criminal intent on a systematic error, that is well within any acceptable margin of error, that becomes a headline because of the scale of the US. Should SSA be allocated funding for new software and payment systems? Absolutely, it probably hasn't been upgraded since the 80's. Is there some systematic fraud that the "Deep State" is behind? No. But 72B makes a better headline.

You want conspiracy theory? This whole DOGE Musk involvement is to clear the way for oversight on his Companies. NHTSA was all over his Automated Driving. FAA was all over his SpaceX flights. Those guys are not there anymore, DOGE'ed. Let's discuss that?

For what? What are they doing? Is it needed? Just cancelling contracts is not making anything more efficient without knowing what it is they are doing? Will it be a savings or will they just hire someone else?

It was probably started during the Biden era for things like DEI, climate studies, or a govt sponsored pride parade.

or it could be to study new systems to lower the overpayment. Or how to provide accountability for crypto. The one thing I can guarantee you it isn't is a Biden DEI, Climate or Pride related. Why? Because if it was it would say it and be all over the news, maybe even with Elon chainsawing it. No, whatever this was is probably fairly legit because all they say is "consulting services" they don't tell us what they are cancelling.

As someone who has worked for companies tied to Gov't contracting proposal - my guess is these are contracts with opt out clauses. Easy pickings for waste/fraud and there are 1,000 of these type of contracts out there....

If you work with these contracts, they are easy pickings to cancel. My issue is the implication that they are criminal, wasteful or negligent. The contracts I have seen always have a need and purpose. Now, if it is a policy decision like the DEI or the a change in direction, that is part of the political world. You may not agree with the need, but the person that put it together did. That is a disagreement in policy, not incompetence or even wastefulness.

Now, how does that match up to reality of those jobs and the people performing them? Focus groups and opinion polls is not how you make policy.

What was the increase for? DVA has 253 million in Mandatory spending.

Compensation and Pensions: $192.1 billion.
Readjustment Benefits: $16.1 billion.
Cost of War Toxic Exposures Fund: $24.5 billion

They also increased health services for Vets. You combine those 2 and you have most of your increase.

So, are you going to cut disability compensation and pensions? Readjustment, as more Vets are committing suicide? How about toxic exposure?

You guys are cheering without knowing what you are cheering. If the specifics are not listed, you can bet it is something that won't read well... You really want to short Veterans their benefits?
