It seems like you've been watching too much CNN or MSNBC lately. A lot of us Texans like Paxton. Gif example, we celebrated his recent Supreme Court victory.

We know that whenever the Left severely attacks a GOP politician it's usually because they are doing good things and they are afraid. We can look at his record and see that it's mostly what we want.
You got me. I am the paragon of an MSNBC viewer.

Let's check back in November of 2026.

Allred's views won't carry the day in Texas. He is pro-abortion. He pushes public education over vouchers so is in the Teacher's Union camp. While he is not for eliminating fossil fuels, he is for pushing wind and solar power and the subsidies that keep them in business. More of the public is realizing that this green energy is an unworkable hoax that leaves us with higher costs and an unstable Grid. He favors those in the country illegally. How he wins Texas voters in a statewide race with these views is hard for me to imagine.

Ken Paxton has conservative views and a strong base that is loyal to him. He has won statewide races. His views are more in line with Texans views in my opinion. Many in Texas appreciate the lawsuits he filed against the corrupt Biden Administration over Immigration as well as other issues. Texans have always liked a fighter. He should win a race against Colin Allred.

I am not going to argue the future. We would be fools to elect Paxton over Cornyn. Texas is not as conservative as many in the echo-chamber think. I would support Paxton over Allred, but we'll see in 2026 if Texas will.

Cornyn is too much a swamp critter. He's unreliable and illustrates what happens when remains in Congress too long. Cornyn acts like a RINO too often. I much prefer Paxton. We shall see what happens next year.

Typical govt program at federal or state level. There are some things government cannot seem to do. Maybe it's because the entire approach is based upon Leftist models. Or maybe it's because everyone hired to implement these programs has sociology degrees so has been indoctrinated into Marxism and has no understanding of reality, how a capitalist economy actually works. I don't know why but I can see results and I know it is a recurring theme. I'm hard pressed to remember an example of success.

Socialists and communists have been infiltrating the Dems for decades. It's evident in Marxist policies such as parts of the New Deal, most of the Great Society, Hillarycare, & Obamacare. To the extent these things have been implemented they explain many of the problems we now face.

Everyone on the City Council is "independent" with a Republican Mayor but they always lean left. It's nearly always a total one sided vote too

Havent heard anything about that but the interior of Dallas is definitely left. I lived on Swiss Ave for many years. One Trump sign and about 100 Harris signs

I was speculating. I'm also very cynical about the nuts and bolts operation of govt at all levels.

If the politicians are inciting violence by foreign criminals, arrest & prosecute them too. They might even be guilty of treason.

9 is old enough to be left at home alone. Not ideal but preferable to a car.

From Fortune 500:

Good morning. Jordan Blum, Fortune's energy editor filling in for Alyson. I've reported on the oil and gas industry for a dozen years now, and the longstanding rivalry and recent legal battle between two Fortune 500 giantsExxon Mobil (No. 8) and Chevron (No. 16)is one of the biggest and most consequential contests I've ever covered.

The legal battle ended Friday, with the news that Chevron could complete its $53 billion acquisition of Hess (No. 327), which Exxon had sued to stop.

In brief: Way back in 2023, Chevron announced its planned all-stock acquisition of Hess. Sure, Chevron wanted Hess's U.S. oil and gas production, but the real prize was access to Hess's share of what is arguably the biggest oil discovery of the century, offshore of sparsely populated Guyana.

The issue? It was Exxon that originally made the Guyana discovery 10 years ago and operates the exploration and production there; it argued that it had the right of first refusal for Hess's ownership of the Guyana stake.
With Chevron's big win in arbitration, Exxon will continue to lead the Guyana partnership with its 45% ownership stake, while Chevron will join as a 30% owner. China's CNOOC holds the remaining 25%.

The Chevron-Hess deal had quickly followed Exxon's $60 billion acquisition of Pioneer Natural Resources in West Texas's booming Permian Basin, as the top two Big Oil giants continue to fight for scale in a world that seems increasingly smaller.

RBC Capital analyst Biraj Borkhataria said in a note that many investors have sat on the sidelines, awaiting the arbitration results, and that Chevron is now set to benefit. He said the industry can now move on beyond the "soap opera" and expect Chevron shares to outperform in the coming weeks.

With both energy demand and energy security concerns growing worldwidemore than 10% of the Fortune 500 is now composed of energy companiesthis legal dispute is a big sign that top industry rivals will fight harder for every barrel of the biggest oil and gas assets in the world, especially as major discoveries become fewer and fewer.

The fascists need their ticket to be AOC & Jasmine Crockett. They might be the two stupidest people in Washington. And that's saying a lot!!
