My letter to John Cornyn over his tantrum to put a hold on Todd Blanche as Attorney General rather than his current acting Attorney General position. This holds up an important position by a proven effective individual, as well as other important work needed in the senate. Thus showing himself to be the selfish, self-serving person that I have disagreed with for many, many years.
Senator Cornyn,
Your recent actions in the senate after being defeated in the Republican Primary by Ken Paxton and losing the endorsement of President Trump have only solidified my reservations about you over many years.
Both you and Senator Tillis are acting like spoiled teenagers by holding up Trump nominations as well as Senate business exposing your true feelings of contempt for President Trump and at the same time showing how little concern you have for the American people in general and conservative voters in particular. Your recent hold on the nomination of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche shows everything dishonorable and disrespectful about how you make decisions in your position as a United States Senator for Texas. This is because Mr. Blanche is very qualified to be Attorney General, and is currently showing that effectiveness in how he is handling that job now. In other words we do not have to guess, we have his track record to look at and see for ourselves how competent he is in this position. He is putting criminals behind bars, and has lowered the crime statistics since becoming acting Attorney General.
Yet you engage in petty vindictiveness to hold up this important nomination I can only assume to stick your finger in the eye of President Trump on the way out of office. Do you not realize that this makes you look like nothing short of a small, bitter man, with a political axe to grind as you leave office? I cannot think of anything showing less character!
But again this is why I was writing my displeasure to you over the years for things such as your willingness to give amnesty to illegals who had broken our laws as their first act as they entered our country illegally, as well as your inclination to go along with Schumer and the democrats on watering down our second amendment rights. As a lifelong Texan, and a very proud one at that, those two issues are sacrosanct among hardline conservative Texans.
So just continue to make a complete ass out of yourself on your way out of Washington, D. C. But remember you are destroying what little respect anyone might have had for you, as you become nothing but a nuisance as you leave office. I believe that is a shame, but I cannot say I am surprised.
