Did not listen but agree - National Guard should not be sent to cities without a request from the state or emergency.

Actually both Noem and Trump are quoted as saying the Fed has no right unless asked by Gov.

I think each state's National Guard should be trained by the Federals as to how to go into a city and restore order, break up gangs, stop illegal protests and so forth. Set this up, then first in the future, the state and city officials can call for their own troops; if they fail to do that, the Feds come in at their own discretion

But it is up to the Governor to use the National Guard and then ASK for Federal assistance. Unless there is a specific Federal law that is being enforced, like segregation under Eisenhower, Feds need to stay out of States. Both Noem and Trump have stated that in the past, before this Administration. DC is different, no issues.

Not really arguing that. I'm saying that there is an alternative. Have NATIONAL agencies train the Texas National Guard in Texas, for example, to be able to go into the depths of Houston or Austin or any other city with high murder rates. This way the Governors can call on them in a moment. If the Governors are like Pritzer and eating their crime stats, the National guard might call up the Illinois National Guard to do what the fat man has never done, attempt to prevent crime in his state

Gotcha. No issues here with it if the Govs ask for the assistance.

It was the only thing I could come with, thinking 'outside the box'. Imagine it being like th Texas Rangers, 'One Ranger, one riot'. Maybe a small community needs help as they have gangs or meth labs, it's too much for the local cops/county and they send in a dozen Texas National Guard to help clean the situation up

You guys get me wrong, I have no issues with what he is doing. I just want to see him use the processes that the US has in place AND doing it in non-destructive manner. I think the policies are good, the execution is bad

I understand the sentiment of allowing those cities to suffer the consequences of repeated stupid votes but I cannot go that far. It's just wrong. Besides, the problems in those cities & states often spill over to the rest of the country. How many illegals that were pampered by California ended up committing heinous crimes in other states? IIRC the murderer of Laken Riley in Georgia was one. I know Singh, the Indian with a CDL who cannot read road signs & who killed three migrants in Florida, was another. There are probably dozens of hundreds of examples.

Yea… most likely bots

Sen. Fetterman is probably the hardest Democrat to unseat in a purple/battleground State right now.

Because he keeps making such common sense statements and taking solid middle of the road rational positions on National issues/topics/controversies

If he is doing it for pure political reasons or because he really believes it…either way the guy is building a strong base of support among average Pennsylvania folks and widening his electoral margins

It was a really poor answer with no sign that he understood the issue at all. Of course we all like to think our NG are good guys. That's not a reason to misuse them and send them where they aren't wanted or needed.

Senator Fetterman understood that Democrats need to pivot away from be the anti-law and order party

Thank God Trump is now sending the National Guard to Memphis instead of Chicago.

Where the crime problem is at least as bad……yet the help of the Guard is wanted by the locals.

I genuinely feel sorry for the innocent people living in Chicago. More are going to be killed and the Democratic machine doesn't care.

He was asked about other cities across the country, not just DC. Pritzker's statement a couple of weeks ago was right on the mark. Should be required reading.

The DOJ statistics show that since the department began collecting the data in 1976, Chicago is the most corrupt federal judicial district in the nation, and that Illinois, on a per capita basis, is the third most corrupt state.

I am not at all 'good' with the consistent murders of innocent people.

Unlike you skin color is not a thing with me.

Trump is saving lives in DC …..mostly black lives.
