Did not listen but agree - National Guard should not be sent to cities without a request from the state or emergency.
Actually both Noem and Trump are quoted as saying the Fed has no right unless asked by Gov.
I think each state's National Guard should be trained by the Federals as to how to go into a city and restore order, break up gangs, stop illegal protests and so forth. Set this up, then first in the future, the state and city officials can call for their own troops; if they fail to do that, the Feds come in at their own discretion
But it is up to the Governor to use the National Guard and then ASK for Federal assistance. Unless there is a specific Federal law that is being enforced, like segregation under Eisenhower, Feds need to stay out of States. Both Noem and Trump have stated that in the past, before this Administration. DC is different, no issues.
Not really arguing that. I'm saying that there is an alternative. Have NATIONAL agencies train the Texas National Guard in Texas, for example, to be able to go into the depths of Houston or Austin or any other city with high murder rates. This way the Governors can call on them in a moment. If the Governors are like Pritzer and eating their crime stats, the National guard might call up the Illinois National Guard to do what the fat man has never done, attempt to prevent crime in his state
