I believe Chicago snipers will kill National Guardsmen.

President Trump would unleash hell on gangs in Chicago if that happened. I Pray it nothing like that would ever happen.

Trump will be politically trapped if he does anything of the sort.

Stay the hell out of Chicago...would be a thankless task.

Let the Dem machine continue to destroy their city and state.

When enough people are killed....maybe just maybe...voters will finally figure things out.

You know many believe the senseless murder of innocent victims needs to stop. With Washington D.C. being our Capital City and different situation, President Trump has shown the example of how simple will and enforcement of laws with arrests can bring order to what was chaos. Other democrat cities with high crimes will have trouble maintaining the status quo after his example in Washington, D.C. I believe the pressure will mount by citizens to clean up some of these cities. What about the voters in Chicago that vote for candidates who want more policing? Should they be punished and maybe victimized because other idiots voted the wrong way, or should we send in help to make the city safer? That is the question.

Chicago is a special situation. The Dem machine has controlled the city for 60 years at least.

Rather than lose their grip the Dems will motivate their crime connections to shoot the Guardsmen. I guarantee you this will happen.

And magically TRUMP will be blamed by the legacy media.

People who can….are leaving Illinois in droves. When enough leave, when even more innocent people are killed….maybe will reform will occur .

But I doubt it.

Chicago is doomed to degenerate linto another Gary, Indiana.

Tamany Hall actually goes back all the way to 1786. That is some pretty deep Democrat connection

Even Teddy Roosevelt had to bend his knee to Tammany Hall occasionally.

And he hated the immigrants and European "ethnics" that ran the corrupt Tammany machine.

Pritzker conveniently conflates cities and states in his statement. And I am not sure his statement about 13 of the cities with the most homicides have Republican Governors is true. I very much doubt it. Here are the top 20 cities as of 2024 who have the most homicides in the U.S.

https://www.roadsnacks.net/murder-capitals-of-america/

Now as I look at that list I would bet that almost all of them have democrat Mayors and councils. This is the important fact rather than the party of the governor of each state. Because they set the local policing policies that directly effect the crime statistics.

Pritzker was about to get to that list, but accidentally ate it

Pritzker as usual has his facts wrong. I found one Republican Mayor on the top 20 cities with the highest homicide rates and that was Baton Rouge. All of the rest had democrat mayors.

From ChatGPT fwiw

Yes Muriel Bowser did request the deployment of the National Guard on January 6, 2021, but the timing and scope of the request were limited and met with delays.

What happenedStep by Step
1. Initial Request (1:34 p.m.)
Mayor Bowser made a call to Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy around 1:34 p.m. requesting the DC National Guard be deployed.
2. Follow-up Coordination (Around 2:22 p.m.)
Bowser and DC officials participated in another call with McCarthy, reiterating the need for Guard support.
3. DO D Limitations & Approval Delay
Prior orders from Acting Defense Secretary Miller (on January 5) limited Guard deployment forbidding use of weapons, helmets, and riot gear unless he personally approved.
Even after Bowser's requests, the Department of Defense delayed actual deployment approval until 4:32 p.m., at which point troops from Virginia had already started moving into DC. Official authorization wasn't communicated to lower command until 5:08 p.m.
4. Summary Confirmation from DOD
A Department of Defense summary later confirmed: "At around 2 p.m., D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser requested more assistance. Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller immediately called up 1,100 members of the D.C. National Guard."

Of course most of these cities have higher murder rates. With democrat mayors and councils the policies they promote are for leniency, second chances and little punishment for crimes. This naturally leads to lifetime criminals being released over and over into society to recommit crimes against law abiding Americans. What does that have to do with black and white worlds? It is simply common sense to recognize that if you do not punish crime you get more of it and if you do punish crime you get less of it. Therefore many of us want the cities to begin law enforcement efforts by locking up hardened criminals rather than releasing them over and over again to commit more crimes against regular Americans.

If you want to challenge the statistics on homicides in the twenty cities you should present the stats that differ from those. I believe most would not question the murder rates in those cities or that their leadership is democrat.

Not a particularly bad number of shootings, at least for Chicago.

Or for Saint Louis, Memphis , Baltimore, New Orleans or Oakland.

Somehow most cities in Europe don't have such numbers of killings each weekend.

Wonder why ?

Population density is the same or even worse in European cities.

Yet they dont have the large number of murders routinely found in so many US cities.

Europe has largely disarmed their populations. No guns means no shootings. They do have knife attacks and other kinds of attacks. A trend over recent years are nutcases driving cars into crowds like in New Orleans. This has happened in several German cities.

I suspect there ard more attacks than we are aware of because they are not being reported. For example the rape gang scandal in the UK. The govt covered it up because they are trying to pretend all the Islamofascist migrants they brought in are harmless when in fact they are very dangerous: misogynists who like to rape women (including children), pedos, & jihadists (driving vehicles into crowds).

At least the people are beginning to wake up and speak out in the UK and other countries, including Australia & Japan.

These are the horrors US fascists (misnamed "Democrats") want to bring to the US. They imported millions of illegals and are fighting tooth & nail to prevent their deportation.

Correct. Immigration policies in UK and Europe and other countries are turning those countries into disasters. Most are electing conservative parliaments and governments that run on anti-immigration among other things. Hopefully the voters are not too late in their voting habits. If Trump had not been elected our country would be lost through illegal immigration open borders.

We know criminals will always get guns. Gun laws mean nothing to those who don't obey laws. And we can never give up our 2nd amendment rights. One answer is to prosecute and incarcerate the criminals using guns in crimes with laws on the books and get those perpetrators away from the public for years or decades. How many hardened criminals that commit felonies with firearms are released back into the public by Soros appointed District Attorneys to harm the public again and again? I have my opinion and it is many. Many issues could be solved if we simply enforced laws currently on the books.

Major city murder rates per 100,000 latest available from local PD reports.

U.S.

St. Louis - 54.4 (2024)
Kansas City - 31.2 (2024)
Chicago - 25.5 (2024)
Milwaukee - 38 (2023)
Minneapolis - 6.3 (2022)
St. Paul - 10 (2024)
New York City - 4.1 (2023)
Boston - 8.35 in one report 3.1 in another (2024)
Philadelphia - 40.6 (2024)
Pittsburgh - 14.8 (2024)
Washington D.C. - 26.6 (2024)
Jacksonville FL - 13.4 (2024)
Tampa FL - 14.2 (2024)
Miami - 11 (2024)
Atlanta - 24.7 (2024)
New. Orleans - 34.7 (2024)
Baton Rouge - 51.8 (2022)
Houston - 13.8 or 11.5 in another report
Dallas - 14.0 (2024)
El Paso - 2.95 (2024)
San Antonio - 15.7 (2022)
Denver - 8.9 (2024)
Phoenix - 13.5 (2022)
Los Angeles - 7.1 (2024)
Compton, CA - 20.1 (2024)
Oakland - 18.6 (2024)
San Francisco - 6.9 (2024)
Seattle - 6.8 (2024)
Portland, OR - 6.0 (2024)

Europe (harder to get city stats)

London - 1.4 (2021)
Paris - 1.6 (2023)
Rome - .8 unclear (2021)
Berlin - 4 (2018)
Kaunus, Lithuania - 4 (2024)
Istanbul - 2.6 (2017)
Malmo Sweden - 2.9. (2024)
Amsterdam - .7 (2023)
Prague - .45 (2021)
Dublin - .44. (2021)

It is easy to get national rates per 100,000 for Europe, which are generally below 1 per 100,000.
For comparison, the US is at 5 per 100,000 in 2024.

US violent crime rate per 100,000 is at 364 in 2023.
There is obviously a difference in classification of crimes between the US and Europe. For example: UK police reports of violence against persons in 2024 would show a rate of 2811 per 100,000.

Maybe it's easier to have success one city at a time. The more cities they clean up this way, the more pressure there will be for other cities to follow suit. The blue mayors and governors who oppose these efforts will more obviously be seen as supporters of more crime. More importantly, it's clear that they don't really care about the people who are victims of these crimes.
